Taylor Swift just kicked off her new era by dropping the first single off her forthcoming yet-untitled seventh studio album. Produced by Joel Little, “ME!,” a self-love anthem, features Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie.
“‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it and owning it,” Taylor said about the single. “With a pop song, we have an ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads and I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves.”
The accompanying music video is surprisingly not directed by frequent collaborator Joseph Kahn. Instead, Dave Meyers takes over. He delivers a 50s movie musical-inspired visual featuring an explosion of pastels. It kicks off with Brendon and Taylor arguing in French. Who knew she could parlez francais 😉
