The Voice just revealed the four mentors tapped to assist the judges for Season 9 during the Battle Rounds. As you can figure out from the picture above, Selena Gomez is one of them.
The “Good For You” singer, the youngest of the four, will be on Team Gwen Stefani. According to US Weekly, she was a backstage favorite.
“She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she’s so young,” the source reveals of the “Good for You” songstress. “She exceeded everyone’s expectations.”
Missy Elliott joins Team Pharrell, while Brad Paisley and legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival member John Fogerty assist Blake Shelton and Adam Levine respectively. Why Fogerty you ask?
“John performed at The Voice finale, and that’s when Adam asked him to come back this season as a mentor,” the US Weekly’s source confirms.
The producers definitely casted a wide net this time around, with the artists ranging from 23 to 70-years-old. The Voice returns to NBC on September 21.
