Beautiful Trauma, her seventh studio album, is officially here. It’s Pink’s first full LP since The Truth About Love released back in 2012. The 38-year-old singer co-wrote all 13 songs on the album, working with a variety of songwriters and producers, including Jack Antonoff, Shellback, Max Martin, McDaid, Mac, Julia Michaels, Greg Kurstin, busbee and others.
Without a doubt, the most-talked about song on the album is her collaboration with Eminem. An interesting pairing for sure. Even more interesting is the fact “Revenge” is a bubbly song about cheating. Not what I would’ve expected from the duo, but a fun treat nonetheless.
Pink previously revealed in an interview that she reached out to the Detroit rapper. “I reached out to him in this case,” she shared to ITV Lorraine. “I love him, I’ve always loved him. I think he’s a lyric genius and I just wrote him a love letter.” Alcohol was also involved. “I’d written the song, I went to the studio, I drank a lot of wine, I wrote ‘Revenge,’ and then I went home and I drank more wine.”
“And I wrote him an email and I said I love you, I’ve always loved you,” she added. “I’ve loved you since you gave me your autograph at the 2001 MTV Music Video Awards. I love that you always work with the same people and I just wrote him a love letter.”
In addition to dropping her new album, Pink recently released a dance video for “Beautiful Trauma.” Check out the riveting piece below directed and choreographed by Nick Florez and RJ Durell, along with the Pink-Eminem duet.
