Bringing the musical adaptation to life are director Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon), composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock). Much like the original blockbuster, the ferociously funny new musical tells the story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionized frenemies. The incisive comedy gets to the hilarious heart of what it means to be a true friend — and a worthy nemesis.
Taylor Louderman follows in Rachel McAdam’s footsteps to play HBIC Regina George while Kate Rockwell and Ashley Park tackle the roles of dimwitted Karen Smith and neurotic Gretchen Wieners respectively. Get a taste of what these ladies will bring to these iconic roles in a brand new promo below.
“Taylor Louderman not only has this giant voice and great comic timing, but she instinctively understood the idea of Regina George, that there’s power in making people come to you. She knows exactly when to play things really small, and there’s so much power in it, and I think she’s at times so wonderfully scary but so funny. Kate Rockwell so quickly found the zone of the sweetness that’s at the core of Karen. And Ashley has this incredible, beautiful voice, but also this nice timing and this fragility of Gretchen, because Gretchen’s, like…just barely hanging on to her status and her sanity.” – Tina Fey told Entertainment Weekly
