Since there was men’s swimming going on today (while I was sleeping), I had planned to write about Olympic swimmer Luca Dotto of Italy. The 22-year-old competed in the 100m freestyle this morning and although he didn’t make it to the podium, he still has two more events to look forward to this week. One on Thursday (50m Freestyle) and another on Friday (4×100 Medley Relay). In 2011, he was the Silver Medalist at the Shanghai World Championships for the 50m Freestyle so you never know what can happen at the Olympics!
Dotto trains in the pool for two hours each morning and about two hours in the afternoon. On top of that, he also does gym training sessions three times a week. No one said training for the Olympics was easy!
I’ve included an interview with him from January of this year and it’s absolutely hilarious and adorable. It really shows his sense of humor and I like him even more. Check the interview out as well as more of his pictures below.
Your token “swimmers build”.
This is a hot pic for sure!
Dotto giving us tickets to the gun show;)
He’s got a gold-winning smile, that’s for sure.
