Jennifer Hudson Performs ‘Memory’ From ‘Cats’

The film adaptation of the hit musical Cats doesn’t arrive until December 20, but folks attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas were given a preview. Jennifer Hudson, who stars as Grizabella in the highly-anticipated film, belted out the iconic ballad “Memory” much to the delight of the audience. Check it out below.

Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper (Les Misérables, The King’s Speech) brings Andrew Lloyd Webber and T.S. Eliot’s feline phenomenon to the screen. New technology will be employed to make the actors look more animalistic.

The star-studded roster includes Taylor Swift, James Corden, Ian McKellen (Gus the Theatre Cat), Judi Dench (Deuteronomy), Idris Elba (Macavity), Rebel Wilson (Jennyanydots) and Royal Ballet principal dancers Steven McRae (Skimbleshanks) and Francesca Hayward (Victoria).

The original Broadway production ran at the Winter Garden for nearly 18 years. The most recent Cats revival last played in 2016 at the Neil Simon Theatre.
