What Are Your Emmy Awards 2009 Predictions?

30-rock-emmy

The 2009 61st Annual Emmy Awards are coming up and I’ve compiled a list of some of the top awards that will be given out on the big night to see who YOU think will win. Will 30 Rock rock the house once again? Last year they conquered the comedy category, taking four awards including Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress, as well as Outstanding Comedy Series. There are a lot of the sames shows and the same actors up for the same awards so it will be interesting to see who what will change this year. The award show airs this Sunday, September 20th at 8:00/7:00pm Central on CBS.

I think 30 Rock has gotten so much love over the past few years that the voters might feel like it’s time to give some attention to someone else. Not that Tina Fey doesn’t deserve everything that she has accomplished with 30 Rock, but I would really like to see some new faces up there giving speeches this year.

I don’t know how many of you have seen The United States Of Tara, but if Toni Collette doesn’t win for best comedic actress, I will be very surprised. She essentially plays 4 different characters on the show, each of them unique and completely thought out – she is incredible! There is nothing she can’t do. Add in Steven Spielberg and Diablo Cody…it just feels there is no way she can lose.

I’d love to see Sally Field win again for Brothers & Sisters too. She won the SAG award earlier this year for the same role, so I’ve got my fingers crossed.

I don’t think a show should be punished for continuing to be the funniest thing on TV… i’m pretty sure i just voted for 30 rock across the board… While i LOVE united states of tara i’m really surprised it’s in the comedy category..? as a drama i totally would have voted for it… she’s amazing but her character as “funny” in that show..? not really.
and i love House too much to take it away from hugh or the show itself 😉
and has project runway ever won?? god damn that show needs some accolades!

  • I wish that everyone got to watch BREAKING BAD. I know you can watch it online and I really want you all to, its is the BEST ACTING ON TELEVISION…PERIOD!

This show, is unmatched in suspense and drama. And the desperation this man has to deal with…fuck.

WATCH IT, Cransten is the greatest TV actor right now…period.

I have to say I used to enjoy coming to this site… but now it seems that more and more your articles are all about stupid reality shows. Could you have any more posts about big brother? I thought this site was supposed to be more than that? Every time I come here now it’s TV TV TV TV!

  • Hey Dan – I hear ya – we appreciate you coming to the site! We’re working on just that and trying to counterbalance all the tv 🙂 (Today wasn’t the best example – LOL)
