Brie Larson has been kicking around for a while now, appearing in films like 21 Jump Street, Short Term 12 and Don Jon. However, it’s her role as Amy Schumer’s sister in Trainwreck that’s putting the spotlight on the talented 25-year-old actress. Her star will no doubt rise even more after people see her in Room. It’s been selected to be shown in the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
Larson plays a woman named Ma who is being held captive with her five-year-old son in a single small room for years. The film is based on the best-selling novel by Emma Donoghue. Joan Allen and William H. Macy also star. Room is schedule for a limited release on October 16, then nationwide on November 8.
