Barry Manilow has never discussed his sexuality publicly, but any Fanilow knows what side of his bread he likes buttered. People reports the 71-year-old (wow didn’t know he was that old) married his longtime manager Garry Kief at the star’s Palm Springs, California home.
“He’s at a point now where he’s got his career and personal life in a great place and he really doesn’t care what people think,” the source told People. “He’s in love and happy.”
This is Barry’s second marriage. The “Copacabana” singer was married briefly to a woman named Susan Deixler in 1964, but it was annulled the following year.
Just like his personal life, the event was a private affair with only 20-30 guests attending. Reportedly, the guests were surprised as well since they had been told it was simply a lunch.
While the pair did not sign any official paperwork, Barry and Garry “are committed to one another and have been for a very long time. They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry,” a source said. “He’s at a point now where he’s got his career and personal life in a great place and he really doesn’t care what people think. He’s in love and happy.”
Congrats to the happy couple. I love Manilow and not ashamed to admit that I have his greatest hits album. “Mandy,” “Weekend In New England,” “I Made It Through The Rain,” “Copacabana” and “I Write The Songs” are among my favorites. What are yours? Sound off below.
