The Backstreet Boys premiered their brand new video on Good Morning America today. It shows couples watching television witnessing historic moments in history– the 1969 moon landing, the falling of the twin towers on 9/11 and the recent Supreme Court DOMA ruling. That’s right, BSB is getting all marriage equality on us. I don’t normally get emotional watching music videos, but the last vignette surprisingly touched me.
“BSB wants to show our support for the LGBT community and we believe that two people of the same sex should have the right to get married,” A.J. McLean explained to GMA. “The concept of the video is based on the song, which tells a story of how love conquers all and ‘in a world like this’ that we live in, with all the craziness and negative energy that can go around, with real love you can overcome anything.”
“In A World Like This” is the lead cut from their upcoming eighth studio album. The boy band reunited with their longtime collaborator Max Martin for the up-tempo track. Even before watching the clip, I was already lovin’ it. It’s definitely their best since their hey day. While their other boy band compatriots band together for The Package Tour, BSB are hitting the road with DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney. Check out their new visual below.
