Have you read the impact statement a rape victim on the Stanford University campus wrote addressing her attacker that’s gone viral. If not, you simply must. It’s one of the most powerful things I’ve read. I can’t believe her attacker only received a six month sentence despite facing a maximum of 14 years.

The cast of Girls– Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet- join forces to deliver an emotional PSA addressing the troubling facts of sexual assault in the United States. 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted, and 80% of the attacks will come from someone they know.

Watch the clip powerful below, which Dunham dedicates to the aforementioned rape case. “I dedicate this to the brave survivor in the Stanford case who has given so much to change the conversation,” she captioned the video.

The Girls Drift Apart In Girls Season 5 Trailer

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Friendship is forever complicated,” the clip description states. Especially with these four ladies. They don’t appear to have much in common and frankly have been sorta mean to each other for four seasons. Why are they even still friends? Maybe that’ll be addressed during the upcoming season.

HBO just debuted the Girls Season 5 trailer. Here’s where the girls are at. Lena Dunham has a new love interest in the form of Jake Lacy. Her ex, Adam Driver, barely appears in the trailer, hinting perhaps at very limited screen time. Allison Williams is getting hitched. Zosia Mamet is in Japan and Jemima Kirke is… Actually, I have no idea.

Check out the trailer below. Girls returns to HBO on February 21, about a month later than it normally does.

Check Out Girls’ Season 3 Trailer

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Technically, Girls is a comedy. Based on last season though, if you tuned in looking for laughs, you would’ve been sadly disappointed. The comedic moments were few and far in between. Am I alone in thinking Lena Dunham took it too dark and depressing? Hopefully, Dunham and her writers were in a better mood this year. Otherwise, I’m permanently breaking up with the HBO show.

In the newly-released trailer, Hannah (Dunham) is shacking up with Adam (Adam Driver) once again. Given the fact Christopher Abbott left the show, poor Marnie (Allison Williams) is toughing it out alone. Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is still being Jessa, while Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) and Ray (Alex Karpovsky) are still driving each other crazy. If that wasn’t enough, Shosanna takes a page from Miley’s book and twerks her little heart out on some poor dead person’s tombstone. Classic Shos πŸ˜‰

This year, we get a temporary change of scenery. As with most NYC-based shows like Gossip Girl and Sex and the City, the requisite trip to the Hamptons takes place. Check out the trailer below.

HBO Debuts Girls’ Character Recap Promos

In: Donovan, TV Shows

We’re only a few days away from the second season of Girls and I’m beyond excited. In anticipation of the season premiere, I decided to re-watch the first one all over again during the holidays. Had I known HBO was going to release these wicked character videos recapping the first season for each girl, I could’ve saved a lot of time. Who am I kidding? I probably still would’ve watched it all over again. The Bushwick party episode still cracks me up every time.

In the new crop of videos, HBO takes a look back at the lives of each characters’ lives. Each clip begins with a brand new scene from the sophomore season. It then continues to quickly explain how they arrived to this point by showing scenes from last year. Check out what Hannah (Lena Dunham), Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) are up to these days. Before the new installment of Girls on Sunday, January 13 be sure to check out the promo clips below.

HBO Releases First Trailer For Girls Season 2

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Earlier this Fall, HBO released a very short teaser of the upcoming season of breakout hit Girls. At long last, we finally have our first full-fledged trailer promoting the show’s premiere on January 13, 2013.

Admittedly, I boarded the Girls‘ bandwagon a little late and took a couple of episodes before I fell in love with it. But now I’m a hardcore fan of the Lena Dunham sitcom. With lines like the following by Hannah talking about on-again, off-again boyfriend Adam, how can I not: β€œI know I always said he was murder-y in a sexy way. But what if he’s murder-y in like a murder way?” Another memorable quote from the trailer is from Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) who’s now done the deed: β€œI may be deflowered, but I am not devalued.”

Check out the trailer below which gives us our first look at Rita Wilson who pops up this season playing Marnie’s (Allison Williams) mom.

HBO Releases First ‘Girls’ Season Two Teaser

In: Donovan, TV Shows

If you thought the ladies from HBO freshman hit, Girls, would glam it up Γ  la Sex In The City for Season 2, fear not. The Brooklyn quartet look to be the same natural raw-humored kooky hipsters they were for the first season. The network just unveiled the first teaser for the comedy’s highly-anticipated return in January 2013.

I’ll admit, I jumped on the Girls bandwagon after the season finished. Being a tad impatient, watching all the shows back-to-back was a great luxury. Unfortunately, now that I know the brilliance that is Lena Dunham’s creation, waiting for the sophomore season is painstaking. If you haven’t watched the show, be sure to check out Adam’s early review of it. He perfectly describes the essence of the comedy.

Though there aren’t too many spoilers in the short teaser released by HBO, there is one huge question that’s been answered. When the show announced that Patrick Wilson was cast as a new love interest for Hannah (Lena Dunham), fans of Adam Sackler thought he was leaving the show. Team Adam members can breathe a sigh of relief, since Adam Driver who plays the character is seen in the teaser. Check it out below.
