Are you or someone you know constantly distracted by technology…constantly distracted by what people post on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook? As you know, all of these such social networks are available as apps on all smartphones so quite often you can see people walk around like a “zombie” as they stare into their iPhone and become oblivious to the world around them.
From the comedy duo that brought us the “Instagram Me Baby” music video and the epic online validation movie trailer, Likes), the hilarious Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy introduce “Zombie.”
The awful thing is that I totally see Tyrell and I as Ryan and Amy in this video – not to the same extreme, but definitely some similarities – LOL. Enjoy the hilarious video below and put your phone away more often!

The first four minutes of an upcoming movie called Warm Bodies has been released and it’s definitely worth checking out! The film stars Nicholas Hoult, whom we first got to know in About A Boy, and later in A Single Man. He’s also the star of Jack The Giant Slayer and will also be reprising his role as Hank McCoy / Beast in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
In Warm Bodies, Hoult stars as R, a zombie who becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims. Their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world. The first four minutes sets the scene for the film and gives you a good feel for what to expect. I wasn’t expecting to like it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
In addition to Hoult, the film also stars Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton, Dave Franco and Cory Hardrict. Check out the first four minutes of the film below!

The first trailer for a new zombie thriller called World War Z starring Brad Pitt has just been releases and it looks awesome! It’s based on a 2006 post-apocalyptic horror novel of the same name by author Max Brooks. The film is directed by Marc Forster.
In the film, Brad Pitt plays Gerry Lane, a worker at the United Nations, as he searches the globe for information that can stop the zombie outbreak that is bringing down nations. In the trailer, we see the madness that ensues when everyone first encounters the outbreak. Gerry Lane and his family are in a car in the middle of downtown when chaos breaks out. It looks as though this could be one of the big blockbusters of next summer – especially considering that Pitt (who is looking good) is the leading man.
The film doesn’t hit theaters untile June 21, 2013. In the meantime, check out the exciting first trailer below!

Last night, I celebrated Halloween by watching Chernobyl Diaries, which is now definitely in the Top 10 of the scariest movies I’ve ever scene. In the movie, there are zombie-like humans and animals that terrorize a group of stranded adventure-seeking tourists when they visit the abandoned city Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. Of course, these mutated humans aren’t your typical virus zombies, but they were still scary as hell.
ASAP Science uploaded a video a couple days ago that dealt with the question of scientifically speaking, could a zombie apocalypse ever happen? If it’s zombies coming back from the dead…not very likely. But if it’s a virus that induces the zombie-like qualities of rage and the incessant need to eat human flesh… hypothetically, yes.
Find out why this is scientifically possible by watching the ASAP Science video below. It’s quite interesting and certainly a scary thought.
Okay. Ali and I took in one of the most unique shows slash performance arts projects hitting the streets of Vancouver. The ‘show’ is titled The Zombie Syndrome, and I’m honestly struggling with how to even classify this piece of work. The show itself takes place on the streets of Vancouver, and includes constant movement from all of the participants and audience members!
I received a phone call and voice message the day before the show letting me know exactly where Ali and I needed to meet, aptly dubbed ‘the secret rendezvous point’. We were joined by seven other people, and were quickly swept up into a world of science and the need for all of us to save the world from an apparent zombie invasion. Man, I love me some zombies! And Vancouver was the perfect backdrop for this unique play of sorts.
I’ve been forbidden to tell you anymore about the play, other than it is completely interactive from an audience perspective, requiring several people to use their phones and help uncover the mystery and steps of the story. It’s a brilliant concept, and wonderfully crafted by The Virtual Stage. I honestly want to spill my guts about this experience, but you really have to see it for yourself!

A bunch of celebrities recently participated in a campaign to help emphasize the importance of blood donation. The campaign is a partnership between the American Red Cross and AMC’s hit zombie show, The Walking Dead. The campaign’s slogan is: “Use Your Brains. Give Blood.”
The celebrities involved include Whitney Port from The City (as shown above), Mena Suvari, Joel Madden, Peter Jackson, and many others. As part of the campaign, these stars were transformed into zombies by the talented makeup team behind the hit series. The results are some pretty creepy photos.
For more information about the campaign, visit the American Red Cross website. The upcoming third season of The Walking Dead premieres on October 14. Check out more of the celebrity zombie photos below!
I haven’t seen a prank go viral like this in quite some time. As you probably already know, not too long ago in Florida, a naked man was found chewing another man’s face off and proceeded to keep doing so and growled at the police that were there. This was the unfortunate result of someone high on a dangerous drug called “bath salts” that some also referred to as the “zombie drug” for obvious reasons. Needless to say, it’s a very frightening thought.
Well, someone decided he’d take advantage of this “real life zombie” type story and prank random people by pretending to be one himself. His friend recorded him as he’d stagger up to people, all bloody, and start growling at them. They of course would bolt it as soon as possible. Seems like a pretty simple prank, but you just can’t help but laugh at the growling noises and the honest, frightened reactions these people have. My favorite was one guy who climbs up a fence. The scary thing is that the prankster gets a gun pulled on him at the 2:00 minute mark, so he very much does not recommend doing this prank. It’s a fair point… if you thought a real zombie was after you and you had a gun handy… You never know.
Watch the video below. It’s already at almost 11 million views and it has only been up a few weeks.
This Thursday, I spent the night with my incredibly handsome and talented DJ friend Nick and his equally GQ hubby watching some classic episodes of South Park with a friend of their’s as one does mid-week ;) But, most importantly, they introduced me to an incredible new trailer for a (wait for it) up-can-coming zombie first-person shooter. Called “Dead Island“- don’t judge them on that lack of titling creativity alone- this 2011 release will be an “open world” action game where you can play with up to four of you roaming the zombie-infested land with no confines to where you can run and hunt.
Back to the trailer, where most games these days bust out stunning graphics and typically clips of the most explosive gameplay it has to offer, “Dead Island” took a different direction. Composed by Giles Lamb with Kahl Henderson and Tom Griffiths, this ridiculously unique and unforgettable trailer combines award-worth cinematography with emotive and passionate instrumental music. This trailer is as disturbing as it is inspired and I dare you not to love it.
WARNING: NOT for the feint of heart!
