We’ve finally arrived to the release date of one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It is the sequel to the mega blockbuster Star Trek a few ago, this one titled Star Trek: Into Darkness.
I didn’t know much of this movie before I stepped into the theater and I think that was the point. That seems to be happening a lot with the big blockbusters this year. Iron Man 3 was vague, as is Man of Steel, Star Trek was no different. The only thing you knew from the previews is that this movie looked epic, and it absolutely was.

That title sounds a tad dirty, doesn’t it? I’m sure Zachary Quinto’s boyfriend Jonathan Groff isn’t that dark down there… or there… or even there ;)
August Man once again taps the Star Trek Into Darkness actor to cover their publication. The 35-year-old must be a huge hit in Malaysia. Photographed by Chiun-Kai Shih, Quinto wears fitted suits, knits and other fashionable fare for his latest editorial. In the issue, he talks about American Horror Story, exploring more roles and his dark side. Check out his spread below along with a few quotes from the publication.
“It is interesting because every season you have a different story. It is rewarding because it is so innovating in the way the stories are structured. It’s really exciting.”

Dog Eat Dog is a short film based on the true story of how actor/producer Zachary Quinto finally adopted his first dog in a Los Angeles Animal Shelter. During the events of his hilarious trials in attempting to adopt a shelter animal, Sian Heder, the film’s director was apparently there with him and taking notes about the whole thing to make a good dinner party story. After the story was told many times, it eventually evolved into the script. The film is described as “a twisted, fun, morality tale about the lengths to which some of us will go in order to get what we want.”
Zachary Quinto said, “We are excited to be sharing Dog Eat Dog with Petsami. This story is very close to all of us, as we have all rescued or fostered dogs over the years. The story of the film is an exaggerated account of how I eventually found my rescue dog Noah, but it still reflects a bit of the reality I faced when I was looking to adopt a shelter dog. Additionally, we are incredibly honored to have Philip Baker Hall and Sharon Wilkins, both pet lovers themselves, join us to make the film.”
Dog Eat Dog also really serves as a reminder of how there are so many dogs that need a home – one with a responsible, loving owner. Watch the cute and funny short film below.

What a great way to kick off the week! Earlier this month, the poster and first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Into The Darkness was revealed. Today, the first full trailer has just been released and the movie looks epic! The intensity and music in the trailer reminds me of the newly released Zach Snyder trailer for Man of Steel. So many good movies in 2013!!
In case you don’t already know, here’s the premise of this upcoming new J.J. Abrams film: “When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated everything the fleet stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a “one man weapon of mass destruction.”
In this trailer, we here Pike (Bruce Greenwood) tell Kirk, “There’s greatness in you, but not an ounce of humility. But there’s going to come a moment when you’re wrong about that. And you’re going to get yourself, and everyone under your command, killed.” The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, and Zoe Saldana and hits theatres May 17, 2013. Enjoy the first full length trailer below.

What is a Hollywood Maverick in the eyes of Details magazine? They are innovators, risk-takers and big thinkers changing the face of entertainment. “Writers are becoming directors, directors are becoming moguls, actors are becoming all of the above instead of lying around praying for a spin-off.” The publication decided to honor these individuals for their December 2012 issue.
Leonardo DiCaprio received the big honor of gracing the cover, but he’s not the only one being recognized for his big ideas. Chris Colfer for his work as a writer, director and executive producer on Struck By Lightning is being hailed a Career Opportunist. His initiative for writing his next project rather than waiting on the sidelines is the reason why he’s being singled out.
Zachary Quinto is featured in the Creative Collectives category alongside his fellow Margin Call filmmakers. The New Normal’s Andrew Rannells made the Survivors list with Chris Messina for making it big after years of casting calls. Details named John Krasinski as the Idea Man, while Pitch Perfect’s Rebel Wilson is being hailed as The Next Big Thing. Check out their photos snapped by Doug Inglish below.

Just in case you forgot, Election Day for our American readers is just around the corner. With gay marriage on the ballot in Maryland, Maine, Minnesota and Washington, it’s important the LGBT community head to the polls in droves to cast their vote for this issue and to choose between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney for President. Not surprisingly, a majority of ‘out’ celebrities in Hollywood are endorsing Obama. Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Billie Jean King, George Takei, Wanda Sykes, Zachary Quinto, and Chaz Bono share why they’re supporting President Obama and why Mitt Romney isn’t the choice for them in a new PSA.
Not only does each celebrity reveal why they’re voting for Barack, but they also share personal stories growing up closeted. The family photos are adorable and stories extremely touching. The five-minute clip also does an excellent job of highlighting Obama’s LGBT achievements ranging from the 2011 repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy to his recent interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, supporting gay marriage.
My only negative criticism of the video is the small part where they do a little Romney bashing. I understand that’s all part of the political game, but I just wish they focused on the positives of Obama and the personal stories of each celebrity, and not resort to that tactic. Oh well, that’s just my two cents. Check out the PSA below.

Yesterday morning, President Barack Obama privately met with 25 of Young Hollywood’s hottest stars in an effort to join forces to help him with his quest for reelection. Joining him at the Beverly Hilton Hotel were stars such as Zachary Quinto, Ian Somerhalder, Zach Braff, Jessica Alba and Sophia Bush.
The breakfast meeting was part of Obama’s “Young America Effort” which main focus is to energize young Americans into hitting the polls during election time and getting out to vote. If you combine the Twitter followers of these 25 stars, you reach over 5 million people. That’s a whole lot of influence on some of America’s younger voters. Overall, a smart choice on Obama’s part. Following the morning meet and greet, the stars hit their Twitter to share their experiences along with a few photos.

For the second year in a row, OUT placed a list of 100 most eligible gay bachelors before its readers and asked them to vote for which one of them they would prefer to date. The list drummed up a bit of controversy and few Twitter campaigns to have their favorites win. However, Chris Colfer reigned supreme as the top gay bachelor. Many readers had great things to say about the Glee actor including this mother:
“As the mom of a gay teen who looks up to Chris Colfer as a role model, I can’t express enough how thankful I am for him. I would love to have a son-in-law of his caliber someday, to match with my equally amazing son. Chris is number one in our home, and we look forward to following his career.”
Even though the list of one hundred men contained billionaires, fashion moguls and more, TV actors claimed five of the top ten spots. You can check out the top ten list below and then vote for which of them you’d rather date.
Check out OUT’s full top ten list after the jump.
