A while back, Donovan & Brian and I went to the CD Release party of Vancouver-based singer/songwriter, Matthew David and were quite impressed with what we heard! He’s got an engaging sexy which when combined with some inspiring lyrics to a contemporary rock arrangement create some great songs.
The 27 year old has been singing since he was 4, and at 18 he relocated to England where he studied voice and theatre in London’s West End. Since returning to Van, he had been working on his debut album, which was just released in November and is also available on iTunes!

Best friends Rob Easton and Sean Horlor are determined to figure out what it takes to make it “out” there in the big wide world.
The premise: Rob and Sean meet someone doing a job; that person teaches them how to do it; and then, they compete to see who does it better.
Some of these “jobs”- including runway modeling and stripping- are performed in front of live audiences, while others such as being a bus driver are done only in front of the camera. We attended their fashion show, and most recently… the strip show!
A little background. I’ve known of Rob for quite some time: he’s Jamie’s ex actually, and now Jamie’s my ex… so, transitive property: we know each other! More recently, I met Sean during Adam’s Top Model Competition, and now Sean’s dating my roommate Landon. Oh what a tangled web we weave. ANYWAY…

This is officially my new favourite song, I LOVE it. Someone finally posted it to YouTube so I can now share it with you all. Seamus Haji has produced a number of my favourite remixes from both top 40 and indie artists but this one tops them all.
One Eskimo hails from London and when asked about their style of music, frontman Kristian Leontiou says;
“I wanted to create a sound of my own: magical, ambient, filmic, acoustic, beautiful and meaningful. I wanted to write about how I felt about life, love, losses and failures, highs and lows, even heartbreaks. But also about how amazing human life is and how mind-blowing our very existence is.”
Hmmm, well all I can say is kudos to Seamus Haji for producing such an awesome track!

It doesn’t matter if you lean to the left or right… or go straight up the middle, Vancouver’s West End has someone we can all get behind. There’s a sentence that could make your gramma blush, but I’m not talking dirty; I’m talking about politics; I’m talking about a young, vibrant, outgoing and outspoken politician; I’m talking about Spencer Herbert.
At the end of the day, I don’t really care who you vote for, or who you support- I just want you to get engaged, find out a little more about your local politics, and vote! I really like Spencer and I think- at the very least- he deserves a bit of your time. So here is your chance to find out a little more about Spencer Herbert, our openly gay representative running for reelection in the riding of Vancouver- West End.
