Back in December, Bryan Singer shared the crushing news that Anna Paquin’s part in X-Men: Days of Future Past was cut from the film. That sent shockwaves among hardcore comic geeks. Here’s what the 48-year-old director said at the time.

“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous,” Singer says. “It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in — the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”

Apparently, that’s now all changed. In the film’s third trailer, which was recently released, Paquin’s name now appears in the credits. A rep for 20th Century Fox confirmed to Buzzfeed that she will, in fact, be in the flick. Don’t get your hopes up too high though. The rep added, “Essentially, [it’s] a cameo.” BOO!!!

Check out the latest trailer below which gives a more in-depth look at Wolverine’s journey to the future to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. It also gives a better look at Quicksilver and the other newly-added mutants. It’s the best trailer yet.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past: 25 Key Historic Moments

Before X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, here’s a little assignment in the form of a fun interactive widget. No one likes homework, especially history but these are fun little lessons. I promise.

In an effort to bridge the gap from when X-Men First Class took place in 1962 to the dystopian world where the new film transpires, FOX shares 25 key historical events in the struggle between mutants and humans that led to the state of affairs in 2018.

Warning, there are some slightly spoilerish items about some of the characters. For instance how Colossus came to be. Let’s just say it involves a real-life nuclear disaster. Proceed with caution.

Recently, rumors surfaced that Halle Berry was going to meet a fate similar to Anna Paquin and end up on the editing room floor. Quickly, the powers-that-be including Berry squashed that speculation. It appears they were telling the truth. Berry as Storm appears in the new X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer alongside all the other mutants. The second trailer fuels my excitement for the flick even more than the first one. Check it out below.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters everywhere on May 23! The film features a star-studded cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Evan Peters, Lucas Till Evan Jonigkeit and Berry.

That’s right, you read that correctly. 25 mother effin’ different covers. For it’s biggest world exclusive ever, Empire Magazine is rolling out twenty-five different covers over the course of today. Each major cast member will receive their own treatment.

“#XMen cast & I are exclusively revealing 25 @EmpireMagazine covers, one every hour, starting now. #Empire25,” director Bryan Singer tweeted.

The cast from the original X-Men movies (Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Daniel Cudmore, Ellen Page) join forces with the X-Men: First Class bunch (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult) to tell this epic tale.

The film sees X-Men fighting for their lives in an apocalyptic future where Sentinel robots (see above photo), created by Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), have laid waste to mutant and humankind. To prevent this catastrophe, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back in time to warn 1970s Professor X about the future and the event that sets everything in motion.

Be sure to check this post often to see the updates. Weigh in afterward on which cover is your favorite and least favorite.

Anna Paquin Gets Cut From X-Men: Days Of Future Past

With so many cast members returning from both franchises, I had a feeling this was going to happen. Apparently, it’s an embarrassment of riches for Bryan Singer. The X-Men: Days of Future Past director is currently in the editing process and Anna Paquin’s part has sadly made it to the cutting room floor.

Singer reveals to Entertainment Weekly that a rescue sequence featuring Magneto (Ian McKellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Rogue (Paquin), and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) has been cut from the final version of the film. During the True Blood actress’ week-long stint filming, this was her only scene in the movie.

Did Magneto Assassinate John F. Kennedy?

In: Donovan, Movies
x-men-jfk-assassination

Conspiracy theories have surrounded the assassination of John F. Kennedy for years. Many have believed Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t act on his own. As it turns out, perhaps he didn’t.

In a brilliant new promo for X-Men Days of Future Past, Erik Lehnsherr aka Magneto is implicated in a mutant plot to kill the President. It’s wise for the studio to jump on the JFK bandwagon. Memorials for the 35th president of the United States have been everywhere for the 50th anniversary of his death.

If the mutant theory intrigues you, be sure to go to the website TheBentBullet.com. There, you’ll see an assortment of faux documents, articles and interviews substantiating Magneto and other mutants’ involvement with that fateful day in Dallas. Check out the video below.

After teasing us last week, Marvel finally shelled out the goods. At long last, the first full-length movie trailer for the highly anticipated sequel-prequel is here. And it’s everything I’d hope it would be.

The beloved characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves in an epic battle that must change the past– to save their future. Watching Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin and Ian McKellan in the same film is going to be phenomenal. To boot, several new faces join the franchise including Booboo Stewart (Warpath), Adan Canto (Sunspot), Fan Bingbing (Blink), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Lucas Till (Havok).
