Tyra and her minions just crowned the latest model to wear the ANTM crown. Believe it or not, we’ve gone through this 19 times now. I can’t believe I’m still watching this crap. Anyhoo, I decided to rank all the America’s Next Top Model winners from worst to best. See how your list compares with mine. I’m sure we all have our favorite winners.
Why is she on the bottom of my list? Ever heard of gravity. Haha, I kid. Before you get your panties in a bunch, I have nothing against big girls. In fact, Tocarra (Cycle 3) ranks in my top ten list ANTM models of all time. My beef with Whitney is her personality, I found her to be unlikeable and fake. Most of all, I found her to be a really bad model. She only ever gave one bitchy look after another. We all knew that ANTM eventually had to crown a plus-size model, but did it have to be her.
I really wanted Adam Lambert to win American Idol. He took the whole formula to a new level with his creativity, style and talent. But like several of my favourites before him, he lost. Oh well. He’ll probably go on to a mega career anyway without having to sing that HORRIBLE “No Boundaries” song. Now that I think about it, maybe he’s actually a little thankful he didn’t win. What about years gone by? Which winners rocked, which flopped and who should’ve won? Much like Donovan’s ANTM winners list, here is my take on America’s Idols from worst to best.
Number 8: Taylor Hicks
Ugh. Soul Patrol my ass. I don’t even really want to talk about him. No video for you! Let’s talk about season 5’s Katharine McPhee and Chris Daughtry instead! Chris should’ve won in a close match against Katharine. His “Hemorrhage” and her “Somewhere over the Rainbow” are two of my favourite performances. He’s gone on to great success and she has turned her Idol turn into an okay singing an acting career.
We all fall into at least one of these types of shoppers and may even belong into 2 or all. I myself fall into the brand-name shopper (not necessarily high end brands), online shopper & emotional shopper. I don’t usually bargain hunt because I don’t have the patience to go through tightly packed racks. There’s something about the chaotic layout that just doesn’t make me want to shop. I’m more of the leisurely shopper and I tend to walk around a shop studying every corner and rack before I decide what I need & want. I tend to shop on a weekday when the store is not as busy as it would be on weekends.
The Deal Hunter: This shopper you’d usually find at Winners on a weekly basis going through tightly packed racks for that Prada piece that was once $700 but is now down to $200. This shopper however tends to buy things simply because they are on sale and doesn’t necessarily need it.
The Emmy Awards were last night, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris (one of our own) and I must say it was a great show overall! There were some winners that were expected and luckily some surprises to keep it interesting.
Doogie Howser M.D. did an awesome job as the host of the show. He sang and did some cabaret (check out the video later in the article), had some funny pretaped sketches, and certainly succeeding in charming the audience with his boyish good looks and wit. I love how the gays are taking over hosting these main events: Ellen, Neil, etc. Who’s next?
With the Leads in a Comedy Series came one of the surprises of the night (although I wasn’t surprised) and one of the non-surprises. The surprise was with the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. I guess most people thought it would go to the triple threat (at least) Tina Fey for 30 Rock again, but someone else moved in on her territory. Toni Collette (6th Sense, Little Miss Sunshine) won the award for her exceptional performance in complicate role as Tara Gregson in the United States of Tara. She plays a women with multiple personalities and she’s absolutely brilliant. The award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series went to Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock, as expected.
