Tonight, we return to the ballroom for another night of dancing on Dancing With The Stars. Last week, tennis pro Martina Navratilova was “grand slammed” out of the competition after blanking on her routine on the dance floor. This also meant we had to say farewell to her hottie partner, Tony Dovolani. Thankfully, there is enough William Levy to go around right now. I digress. Let’s get back to tonight’s show.
The theme of tonight’s episode was to tell personal stories through the dances. The styles of dance ranged from Rumba and Samba to Jive and Foxtrot. While some of the stories made us smile, there were stories from Jaleel White and Katherine Jenkins that made us pull out the Kleenex to dab the tears away. If there is one thing I’ve noticed this season, it’s that the competition if fiercer than ever. We are in week three of dancing and already, no one is scoring lower than an 8. That’s pretty impressive. Relive all of the evening’s dances below and share your comments and thoughts on the stars in the comment section. I love to hear them!
I feel like i just finished watching a season of Dancing With The Stars but yet again, we’re back in the ballroom for the fourteenth season of the dance competition. LIke last year, I’m actually excited about this round up of stars and think they all share a certain lot of potential. But, under the pressure of the lights, the audience and the spray tans, will they bring it on the floor and impress the three judges? Let’s find out!
The show started with a bang thanks to Maria Menounus and Derek Hough dancing a steamy Cha Cha on the dance floor, only fuelling the rumors that the two are romantically involved. Another surprise performance came from Green Bay Packer Donald Driver who brought the party (and his hips) to the ballroom floor. However, it was Katherine Jenkins and Jaleel White who stole the show, scoring the highest points ever during a season opener.
But the one performance that warmed my heart the most was that of Gladys Knight. Don’t get it twisted, this Grammy award winning woman of soul is going to bring it this season on the dance floor. Here ease of movement and love for dancing is so refreshing. I had the hugest smile on my face watching her dance. In my opinion (and a few of the judges), this is the best premiere of DWTS that I’ve ever seen. So without further ado, check out all of the night’s performances (and judges’ scores) below.
The cast of Dancing With The Stars Season 14 have just been revealed and it looks like it’s going to be another exciting season! A few days ago, Tyrell wrote about a few names that had leaked early. Those names are indeed among the twelve stars that will be dancing this season.
There are a couple blasts from the pasts that you’ll be very excited to see. Here’s a hint for one of them: “Did I do thaaaat!?” I’m sure you know who I’m talking about. Another surprise is one they have referred to as “The Latin Hottie,” and that he is. Seriously, people will be drooling over this guy and will be extremely jealous of his partner, Cheryl Burke.
Check out the cast below and vote on who your favorite cast member this season is!
In conjunction with her long-awaited album “Love?” dropping tomorrow, Jennifer Lopez debuted the music video for “I’m Into You” on The Today Show. It’s the follow up to her humongous hit, “On The Floor“. Just like it, she’s enlisted a rapper to add some hip-hop edge to the track. Even though Lil Wayne provides sick rhymes for the single, he doesn’t appear in the music video. Instead, she enlists hunky telenovela star and former Man Crush of mine, William Levy to provide added heat to the hot video. Here’s J. Lo explaining why she chose the Cuban sex stick to co-star with her.
“It was funny because over Christmas, I had my whole family at my house, and every day my cousins and my aunts and everybody tuned in to this thing [telenovela] to see this guy … I called my cousins and they were like, ‘It’s William Levy. You’ve got to get William Levy!'”
I have to admit, I like the song more after watching the music video. When I first heard the track, I wasn’t a super fan and thought she was copying Rihanna‘s footsteps by releasing an island-sounding track as her second single. But consider me a convert now. La Lopez traveled to the Mayan pyramids of Chichen Itza to film the scenic clip. Melina Matsoukas directed the pop singer who looks absolutely stunning in every shot. It’s like Madonna’s “Cherish” music video fused with Beyonce’s “Deja Vu” set in a Mayan setting. Watch the clip and you’ll totally agree with my references.
Happy Monday everyone. Round 2 of my “2010 Man Crush Showdown” is officially in the history books. Despite a last minute surge from his fans, Matt Lanter fell a bit short from winning this semifinal round. With 36% of the votes cast, Colton Haynes won the second round and secures himself a spot in the finals next week. All is not lost for Matt Lanter fans, he’s still eligible for a wild card spot depending on how this week’s vote totals add up. Haynes joins Scott Herman, who won Round 1, in the finals
Not to be biased, but I love the candidates for the Round 3 voting. I think they’re cumulatively the hottest of my weekly crushes from 2010. You have a couple of fitness model beefcakes, two openly gay studly actors, a Telenovela hunk and super sexy Aussie rules jock who loves to show off his perfectly sculpted body. Check out the boys in contention below and see why they won my heart during the months of September til December. Don’t forget to cast your votes daily and often.
Voting ends Sunday Dec 26 when The FINAL ROUND begins.
Editors Note: Although this post was written December of 2010, since Levy is appearing on DWTS Season 14, with thought you’d like to get to know him a bit better ;)
For this week’s man crush, I decided to go south of the border and fish in the land of telenovelas. Cuban actor William Levy, is the lucky guy I caught but didn’t release. This sexy juicy bass is too good to throw back into the ocean. Born in Havana, Levy and his family migrated to Miami when he was twelve. Eventually they moved to California where he attended USC.
The 30-year-old actor began his career as a male model and was represented by top agency, Next Models. Given his smoking hot body, he was a natural choice to model plenty of underwear and swimsuits. His breakthrough in Mexican soap operas, was in Pasión. He did such a great job, he was later cast him as the lead in Cuidado con el Angel. The show averaged about 45.7 million viewers per evening on Univision. YOWZA, that’s quadruple what Glee attracts every week. Other notable telenovelas he’s starred in include El Triunfo del Amor and Sortilegio. He starred in Jennifer Lopez‘s “I’m Into You” music video and is going to be in Season 14 of Dancing With The Stars.
Sorry boys and girls, William has been with his partner Elizabeth Gutierrez since 2003. The two have two children. A son named Christopher and a daughter named Kailey. He is of Jewish ancestry on his maternal grandfather side, but converted to Catholicism in 2009.
