To tell the “trooooooooth” (in Cher’s voice), I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner. It’s a match made in heaven.

LOGO enlisted some of the more popular alums of RuPaul’s Drag Race to film a music video for Cher’s latest dance hit “Woman’s World.” Naturally, Chad Michaels is front and center since she’s most known for her Cher impersonations. The All-Stars winner channels the dance diva by wearing her infamous attention-grabbing Academy Awards outfit.

Joining Michaels in the clip are Shangela, Manila Luzon, Willam and Alyssa Edwards. Both Shangela and Manila look to Cher’s music videos for inspiration, picking looks from her “If I Could Turn Back Time” and “Believe” clips. Alyssa serves up Mermaids Cher realness, while Willam goes old school, harkening back to the 67-year-old icon’s “Half-Breed” era. Check out the homage visual below.

Lady Gaga Enlists Drag Queens For Applause Lyric Video

In: Donovan, Music

One of my favorite things to do whenever I’m in Los Angeles is check out the drag show at Micky’s. Clearly, it’s a must-see event for Lady Gaga as well.

Earlier this week, the 27-year-old singer visited the West Hollywood nightspot to film footage for her “Applause” lyric video. For all you RuPaul’s Drag Race viewers, you’ll recognize a few familiar faces. Fan favorites Shangela, Willam, Morgan McMichaels and more sashay their stuff in the clip. A couple of them even sport Gaga’s clown makeup. Check out the drag-tastic video below.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Heads Out On Tour

In: Donovan, Totally GAY!, TV Shows

I’m surprised RuPaul didn’t think of this sooner. The grand dame of RuPaul’s Drag Race is heading out on the road. Correction. Ru herself isn’t going, but she’s sending her trusty hag Michelle Visage to oversee and host the Battle of the Seasons tour. Tickets go on sale today Friday, July 19. No stalling and be sure to act quickly just in case the show in your city sells out.

“I am honored to be the hostess (a.k.a drag mother) to these talented queens, and we are overjoyed to be working with the legendary Live Nation to bring the art of drag to yet another level: theater,” Michelle Visage said. “RuPaul’s Drag Race has given the art form a voice, and we cannot wait to use it at a theater near you!”

How much gayness can you put into one clip? Apparently quite a bit. Somehow Funny or Die was able to wrangle up every hilarious gay YouTube star for their Downton Abbey music video spoof. If you’re one of those who don’t understand the fascination with the slow-paced British period drama, you’ll definitely appreciate this clip titled “Snore.”

Using Madonna’s iconic hit “Vogue” as the beat, Willam, Drew Droege from those hilarious Chloe impersonation videos, Vicky Vox, Michelle Visage, Jonny McGovern and others swap out the lyrics to reference everything Abbey related. From its Christmas specials, multiple deaths and so forth, you’ll find it all in the clip.

If Madonna’s hit doesn’t turn your crank perhaps The Real McCoy’s “Another Night” will. A few bars of that dance classic are used in the bridge. Check out the latest FOD clip below which also features Mr. Neil Patrick Harris aka David Burtka and Stephen Guarino (EastSiders) to name a few. Enjoy.

Literally and figuratively. The drag Wilson Phillips-like trio were chosen to close out the 2013 Life Ball in Vienna, Austria. Who knew “Boy Is A Bottom” was such an international hit?

When you really think about it, getting a call to perform at such a prestigious annual event is pretty remarkable given high profile attendees like Bill Clinton, Hilary Swank, Fergie, Milla Jovovic, Adam Lambert, Karolina Kurkova and European royalty were all in the house. It’s one thing to do a number at a gay nightclub, but a televised event… that’s another thing. Congrats to them. If Vicky Vox doesn’t get cast on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, it will be a huge travesty.

Check them out belting their parody hit in front of thousands of Austrians in the town square below. The only thing missing is the actual “bottom” aka Miles Davis Moody making a surprise appearance :(

DWV ‘Silicone’ Music Video

In: Music, Tommy D, Totally GAY!

Here they are again!

The Drag supergroup of Detox, Willam and Vicky Vox (HEY GIRL!) also known as DWV has released their 3rd video, a parody of Robyn’s Dancing on my Own called “Silicone“! This time around Detox takes the lead because well she is full of silicone, and also I know that she’s a huge fan of Robyn. She performs Robyn quite a bit so I’m not surprised she took the lead on this one.

It’s bit of a slower jam but it is still just as hilarious as all the ones previous. What do you guys think?

Take a listen below and sound off in the comments. Don’t forget to follow me on twitter @TommyD.

PS – DRAG RACE FINALE TONIGHT…so excited.

White Party Palm Springs 2013 was everything we wanted. Period.

Patrick and I attended WPPS (as the “kids” in the know quickly informed me is what White Party Palm Springs is referred to as) over this past Easter long weekend and barely survived we had that much fun. Stepping from 55 Fahrenheit and overcast in Vancouver to blue skies and 85-90 degrees in beautiful Palm Springs, California, we knew things were on track the second we got off our plane. Patrick had been working his contacts and even I got into the mix setting up meet and greets, interview and events for our 5 day trip and the payoff was one hell of a time. WPPS is an annual event that takes place in the desert town of Palm Springs and attracts tens of thousands of gay men (sorry ladies, while you’re certainly allowed you will by FAR be in the minority) with its promise of perfect weather, lavish events and exciting performances: and this year had them all in spades. We took our time getting in a day early and staying a day late to fully prepare and decompress after the bang out weekend and boy were our bodies and minds happier for it. No matter what the liver damage or how many shirts we sweat through- it was worth it.

While I won’t give away the details of the performances before the click through- yes, you’re going to have to actually read my review to get to the highs and see the Avicii “I Could Be the One” music video remake that Patrick has been diligently working at this past week of filming to prepare for- I will mention the bigger names and sights to wet your appetite. I had my arms around a 9 foot tall draggin’ Willam who took one look at my Harley Davidson shirt and said: “Bitch, you a queen- you ain’t go no Haaaaarley!”; Patrick is currently sporting a profile picture with the new love of his life Carmen Electra; I may have offered to sleep with Icona Pop‘s impossibly beautiful Aino Jawo; and, Patrick has discovered the newest and greatest thing to come out of the LA music scene. And, that was only the beginning…

One week from today, I’ll be seeing Willam in person when she performs with Detox & Vicki Vox at White Party next Sunday. Can’t wait! Until then, there’s another hilarious episode of Willam’s Beatdown to enjoy. I can’t believe this is the fourteenth freaking one already! She’s done a lot of beating already!

Willam always says he’ll put anything in his mouth, but now it’s time for him to prove it! In this episode of Willam’s Beatdown, you can enjoy glue eating, a crotch shot and the baby food challenge. In this episode, the victims include: PrankvsPrank, ItsKingsleyBitch, EleventhGorgeous and Piink Sparkles.
