Long before Matthew Terry strutted his body for Calvin Klein, Travis Fimmel was the face for the underwear brand. This blond-haired Aussie was the most in-demand male model at the time. Some say he was the inspiration for Sex and the City’s Smith Jerrod. Once you see his CK ads, you’ll definitely see the SATC comparison. With his new television show scoring boffo ratings for the History Channel, I thought it was a perfect time to pick him as this week’s Man Crush.
The 33-year-old was discovered while working out at a gym in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn. Fimmel has the distinction of becoming the first male model to ink a six-figure deal to model exclusively for Calvin Klein. Since hanging up his CK undies, he’s appeared in several television shows including the WB’s ill-fated modern-day adaptation of Tarzan co-starring Leighton Meester and Lucy Lawless. The show was canceled after eight episodes.
His other credits include appearing with Patrick Swayze in A&E’s The Beast and feature films The Experiment (Adrien Brody, Cam Gigandet) and The Baytown Outlaws (Andre Braugher, Eva Longoria). Currently he’s making a splash in the breakout hit Vikings on the History Channel. Check out several photos of Travis from the show and from back in the day as Calvin Klein’s main man. He certainly filled those CK briefs extremely well ;)
I’m probably the only one watching NBC’s Revenge-y drama, Deception. Truth be told, it’s not very good but I keep tuning in for some reason. Perhaps, it’s due to the hotness that is David A Gregory who plays bad boy Kyle Farrell. The show is most likely to receive the ax from the peacock network any day now. Hopefully, Gregory lands another gig. He’s too fine to be an unemployed actor.
David hails from Fairbanks, Alaska. He has a degree in music and theater from Ohio’s Baldwin-Wallace College Music Theater Program. The 27-year-old landed his big break when he signed on with daytime soap, One Life To Live. Instantly, he became the fantasy of many lustful housewives. In addition to his three year stint on the soap opera, Gregory’s credits include guest spots on Law & Order and Gossip Girl. Check out plenty of stills from David’s roles on Deception and OLTL below, including one where Chris Evan’s gay brother Scott is holding him. YUM.
If you caught The New Normal this week, you saw Goldie (Georgia King) fantasize about Shania’s hot assistant principal. She pictured him shedding his clothes and doing his best Magic Mike impersonation. If you were wondering who that tasty piece of man meat is, his name is Peter Porte. Naturally, I chose the 27-year-old as this week’s Man Crush. Ya’ll know I’m a sucker for a ripped bod and stripper moves ;)
Porte was born in Greenwood Lake, New York and graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2006 with a degree in Drama and Journalism. After traveling from a touring production of Mamma Mia, he attended graduate school at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
In 2008, he moved to Los Angeles and immediately booked a gig on Medium. Soon after, he booked other guest starring spots including CSI Miami, Cold Case & Parks and Recreation. Recently, he appeared as Ricky Williams on the long-running soap, The Young & The Restless. Check out photos of this model/actor below. More importantly, watch his stripper moves from The New Normal in the embedded video. Enjoy.
If you read my review of A Good Day To Die Hard, you’re fully aware Jai Courtney was the best (and hottest thing) from that tragic hot mess. At first, I wasn’t on board with the decision to cast the 26-year-old Aussie over Liam Hemsworth and Aaron Paul, but after watching his fine ass (among other body parts) in the latest Die Hard flick, I approve.
Courtney was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. His big break came when he landed the role of Varro in STARZ’s Spartacus. That exposure (literally… have you seen what they wear on that show) led to a role in Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher. Even though playing John McClane’s son in the fifth installment is supposed to be his breakout role, I don’t think it will be. The action flick is truly horrible. Hopefully, his next film, I, Frankenstein with Aaron Eckhart which is scheduled to hit theaters Fall 2013 will serve as a better star-making launching pad. Check out this stud’s assets below. Get ready for a gun and ab show.
Normally, I try to stay away from male models for my Man Crush posts. I already have my other weekly feature, Model Behavior, to highlight them. To boot, last week’s hottie (Justin James Hughes) was also selected for appearing in a commercial. With that said, I couldn’t ignore all the hype and slobbering over Andrew Cooper the past couple of days. You may not know his name, but you definitely know his well-defined abs.
Cooper became an instant viral sensation when his Diet Coke commercial debuted. Like the women in the ad, the second the British stunner took of his shirt, you were instantly hooked. Nothing could tear your eyes away from his sweaty physique. Given that you know his body of work (literally), I thought I’d share more photos from this stud’s portfolio.
Currently on models.com, Cooper is the 18th ranked money-making male model in the industry right now. With gigs for Ralph Lauren, Gap, Bottega Veneta, Perry Ellis, Banana Republic and DKNY to name a few, it’s not hard to understand why. He’s definitely the go-to guy when it comes to selling a product or lifestyle. The 31-year-old is represented by several agencies worldwide including New York Model Management (NYC), Models 1 (London) and Elite Milan (Milan). Since I’ve gathered so many images, I’m not commenting on them. Instead, I’ll let his hotness speak for itself this week. Enjoy.
In the three years or so I’ve been writing my Man Crush posts, I think this is a first. I’m writing about a guy in a 30-second ad spot. While watching the NFL playoffs last weekend, I noticed this hot guy in a Miller Lite commercial downing saucy chicken wings. Immediately I asked myself who the stud in the tank top with the beefy arms was. After a few minutes on Google, I discovered his name is Justin James Hughes, along with a whackload of shirtless pictures (YUM).
You’d be surprised to know that this Las Vegas native had aspirations of attaining a degree in Business Management and getting a career in Casino Administration. Thankfully, he had a change of heart and decided to explore the entertainment industry. I can’t imagine a greater crime than covering up that bangin’ body of his and keeping it to himself. For shame.
In addition to appearing in the aforementioned Miller Lite ad, Justin has appeared in other commercials including an IHOP one. His television credits include guest spots on 90210, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Modern Family and Bones. If you want to check out his Improv and comedic talents, James Hughes has plenty of videos on his YouTube channel which you can click at the end of the post. In the meantime, check out the set of biceps below that inspired this week’s Man Crush feature.
Clearly, I need to spend more time enjoying the arts- ballet especially. The second I saw the cover of Vanity Fair Italia this month, I immediately Google’d the cover boy, Roberto Bolle. Turns out the sexy beast is an Italian ballet dancer. Gorgeous and flexible. Definitely two of my criteria for my weekly Man Crush post.
The 37-year-old is currently a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre. Born in Casale Monferrato, Italy, he’s the first Italian to hold the prestigious position with the company. If you’re an Olympics fan, you might recognize Bolle from the opening ceremony at the Turin Winter Games back in 2006. Given his handsomeness and dance ability, he’s a favorite by many publications for editorial work including one with supermodel Coco Rocha for US Vogue. His recent shoot for Vanity Fair Italia was shot by photographer Marc Hom. Check out those pictures below, along with many from his career. Hope you enjoy this week’s object of my online affection.
Hats off to Bravo for how they handled the premiere of their newest reality show. The way Vanderpump Rules segued from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills without a commercial break, opening or closing credits was brilliant. The strategy worked and Vanderpump Rules held practically most of its RHOBH lead-in. It’ll be interesting to see if it can maintain those retention numbers in the coming weeks. I know I will keep watching. Ashamedly, I LOVED IT. It reminded me a lot of The Hills when it was good. The cast even ate at one restaurant featured on the MTV reality show.
Another reason for me to tune in is that sexy Jax Taylor. The 29-year-old bartends at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR. Jax can pour me a mojito (among other things) anytime he wants. WOOF. In addition to appearing on the BRAVO reality show, Jax is a successful working model. He’s appeared in editorials for GQ Japan, Details, V MAN, Cosmopolitan and gay publications Out magazine and Instinct. A few of the ad campaigns he’s scored include AussieBum, 2XIST, Energie, Abercrombie & Fitch and Taco Bell (LOL) to name a few. He even became the face of an XBOX video game. Check out a sampling of his previous work below. Hope you enjoy my first Man Crush post of 2013.
