Yeesh - a lot of tragic things happening in Vancouver these past few weeks. Most recently, the guy who played Boner (Richard ‘Boner’ Stabone” in Growing Pains, Andrew Koenig has gone missing here in Vancouver, and his family and friends are extremely worried about him. They have stated that he’s been very depressed. He was staying at the home of Vancouver burlesque star Jenny Magenta. She had updated her Twitter to say the following:

“One friend in suicide mode another friend gone missing left notes to his parents after he stayed with me and left on Sunday.”

He was supposed to back in the US on February 16th and now, a week later, he’s nowhere to be found. I hope he’s okay.

Coincidentally, his name also came up during the last Olympics in Beijing when he was protesting China’s Human Rights Violations. The Vancouver’s Police Department has set up a tip line at 604.717.2534. His last activity reported on his cell phone and bank account was February 16th when he was reportedly in Stanley Park.

About a month ago, I wrote a positive review of a mobile social media app called Foursquare. I began the article with the tongue-in-cheek sentence, “Facebook, twitter, personal blogs; These days, stalking someone has become almost a daily activity.” Little did I know the possible truth behind that statement.

Now, when I think of my privacy online, it’s mostly thoughts of pictures I don’t want public for the sake of my future career. That or keeping comments and information from people who might take offense. Never have I thought that my seemingly harmless posts, or check-ins to foursquare could be used to target me for domestic crime.

Someone else made the connection fortunately, and constructed the site, Please Rob Me.com. The page consists of twitter posts by foursquare users, checking in a various places…

Not too long after Brittany Murphy’s passing, TMZ has reported that another young Hollywood face has passed - Casey Johnson, an heiress to the abundant fortune of the Johnson & Johnson company, has been pronounced dead at age 30. The cause of death hasn’t been determined yet, but she did battle with drugs and alcohol and left rehab early a while back. She’s the great-great-granddaughter of Robert Wood Johnson, the co-founder of Johnson & Johnson.

The rich socialite was a lesbian and was engaged to Tila Tequila, making the official announcement on December 9th, and also a few days later she announced that she would legally change her and her adopted daughter’s last name to Nguyen. TMZ contacted Tila and found out the following info:

“We spoke with Tila a few minutes ago. She says they were fighting last week and that Casey stayed at Tila’s house on the 28th. Tila tried contacting Casey on the 29th because Casey had left her dogs behind. Tila says Casey’s phone has been shut off since the 29th and she was not able to make contact.”

A recently leaked single called Elevator on Eminem’s upcomin re-release of his album, Relapse: Refill, features some homophobic, hateful lyrics towards a couple gay pop stars. The song is mostly about the fact that Eminem is celebrating the fact that he can afford a house with an elevator, but of course the 37 year old has still apparently not gotten over his homophobic ways. Great example for your kid, Slim Shady! Here’s what he says:

“Sorry, Lance, Mr. Lambert, and Aiken ain’t gonna make it/They get so mad when I call them both fake, it’s/All these f—in’ voices in my head, I can’t take it!”

When it’s written out, all it says is “fake,” but when you actually hear it, the words “Fake” and “It’s” are blurred together that it sounds like “faggot” (Sidenote. I really, really don’t like that word). He also changes the tone of his voice to sound like more effeminate maybe? He’s does something different.

Lambert responded via Twitter by saying, “Wow eminem mentioned me in a song?! I must be doin something right!? Even if he used the f word…. Whtev.” Later, he added, “Oh he says ‘fake it’ my bad.”

Anyway, I guess the formula worked for him before. Stir shit up, start a fight with Aguilera, get people mad at you, get back in the limelight, make more money. It just sucks because it doesn’t help people get past this homophobia thing. When artists like Buju Banton are getting Grammy Nominations, even though they have lyrics about killing gays with brutal violence - that’s not okay. Yeah, if you haven’t heard, murder musician Buju Banton IS nominated for a Grammy. The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center Chief Public Affairs Officer Jim Key had to say about the nomination…

Although I watch The Hills each week (which is getting faker by the second) and I make spoofs of the couple, I seriously, seriously dislike Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. A HUGE part of the last few seasons was the fact that Lauren Conrad did not want to be friends with Heidi anymore because Spencer was a douche and he had changed her for the worse. Well, God was she ever right. These two are out of control. They just came out with a book on how to become famous which has given them a new circuit of media interviews. They embarrassed themselves and humankind by their “performance” on “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” and now they are only getting worse with this extremely childish and hate-filled argument with The Insider Panel, stemming from the fact that Al Roker had had a scheduling conflict with an interview he were supposed to have with Speidi, and Spencer “The Villain” decided to take it to Twitter, calling Roker fat and that he looked like he was going to die soon.

You know what, maybe they do have this fame thing down. I’m talking about them, The Insider is arguing with them, and isn’t any press good press? I don’t know anymore. The Insider Panel say that their 15 minutes will be up soon, and I really do hope that this is true. The two really irk me - especially Heidi. Spencer’s a jerk, fine… whatever…he was raised that way. But Heidi pretends to be on this religious, moral high ground, yet she’s absolutely just as bad as Spencer, except with less brains and more plastic surgery. She’s merely a puppet and an embarrassment to her family.

My hot guy A.D.D. has gotten even worse this week. One crush isn’t enough to obsess over this week, I need a set of brothers to do the trick. The Hemsworth brothers “come from a land down under where beer does flow and men chunder”. I never did understand those lyrics to Men at Work’s “Down Under” 1981 hit. Anyhoo, the Brothers Hemsworth- Luke, Chris (pictured left above) and Liam (pictured right above)- were all born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. The younger two siblings are faces you should probably get to know. Both are making waves in Hollywood and on the brink of super-stardom

Dan will not be please about this, but according to a few of her tweets last night, it looks as though we may be seeing the last dance. She’s been a choreographer and guest judge on the show for 5 years, but is ready to move on to something else, as her tweets allude to.

Mia says, “I’m officially an adoring fan of SYTYCD…..Thank you for 5 wonderful yrs.”

The Emmy Award winner has worked with such artists as Madonna, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, and Prince. She also choreographed Cirque du Soleil’s world tour, “Delerium” back in 2005. I don’t think she’s going to have trouble finding work after SYTYCD, not that she had any trouble before. She’s just going to make more now.

In 2010, she’ll be on the big screen playing herself in a movie called “Move,” along with Tyce Diorio, Paula Abdul, Wade Robson, and Nigel Lythgoe.

Ever since Twitter’s been blowing up on the internet I’ve been noticing that the average attention span of the viewing public is becoming shorter and shorter. Less than 140 characters or else they’re moving onto the next page.

The old adage, “quality over quantity” has been replaced with “lack of quantity over quality”. After all, what do you have to lose reading a twitter message besides a couple of seconds? Who cares if it’s bad?

Many instant gratification blogs and web sites have existed for a few years or so (eg., I Can Has Cheezburger, Home of the LOL Cat, or Group Hug which has been around since before Facebook and YouTube) with varying levels of success, but it’s no secret that a lot more of them are starting up, and some are actually quite good.

Most have a common characteristic of anonymous people posting along a theme, where others can vote on whether it’s worthy of your consumption or not.

Well, David Letterman can’t have all the fun… and let’s face it, that ticker? He’s not going to be around forever anyway so SOMEone’s going to have to take the reigns… and who better than one of Homorazzi’s judgiest writer?
So, Donovan first approached me with the idea of creating a video version of a “Top Ten List” that covers the whole spectrum of issues but with one consistent: my bitchy take on subject.

For this first list, I take a look at the world of growing older in the gay world and discuss- what I perceive to be- the “Top 10 Things You Can’t Get Away With After 25″.

As this was a first time attempt, do be kind with the fact that I didn’t QUITE realize the need to memorize my lines before hoping on camera… Hell, make a drinking game out of it: every time you catch me looking slightly off screen to scan my cue card, take a shot of vodka… Christ, take a HALF shot of Butter Ripple Shnaps instead and you’ll STILL be wasted by the time I get to talking about people who dye there hair blond!
