This year marks the tenth anniversary of the release of Love Actually. Though numerous attempts around the world have been filmed to recreate the special magic found in the original including Garry Marshall’s Valentine’s Day and New Years Eve, none have succeeded.
Naturally, when I read Love Actually 2, I was instantly intrigued and excited. Sadly though, it turned out to be just a fan-made trailer parody. With that being said, it’s an excellent one at that. This fanboy or fangirl masterfully compiles footage from the cast’s post-Actually work into a storyline, albeit far-fetched, but a storyline nonetheless.
It’s not easy incorporating scenes from Bad Santa, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Taken, The King’s Speech, Mammia Mia, Mad Men, The Hobbit and more to craft a worthy sequel to Love Actually. Check out the wonderfully ridiculous clip below.
Nothing gets me more in the holiday spirit than watching a few of my favorite Christmas movies in the background while decorating our tree and wrapping gifts. It should come as no surprise that Love Actually is on that list of favorites. While watching the modern holiday classic for the umpteenth time, it dawned on me that the adorable kids who played Sam (Thomas Sangster) and Joanna (Olivia Olson) were probably young adults now. So naturally, I had to Google them to see what they were up to these days.
Sangster is now 22-years-old and Olson is 20. Both are still working in the entertainment industry and funny enough, the two worked together again since Love Actually. They reunited for Disney Channel’s animated series Phineas and Ferb where they both voiced characters. Before you see what other projects they’ve done, refresh your memory and watch a clip from the holiday movie below.
For anyone as obsessed with Game of Thrones as I am, this two minute video will most likely be the most exciting part of your day. While season 3 of GoT doesn’t air until March 31st, HBO has released a tiny featurette giving us a behind the scenes look at some of the locations and characters in the new season.
I couldn’t help but start drooling when I saw the extremely sexy Richard Madden, who plays Robb Stark. It’s also funny to hear Peter Dinklage when he drops his atrocious accent.
While the first two seasons were essentially an adaptation of the first two books in the series, many characters were purposely left out of season 2. You’ll be happy to know that the writers were merely saving them until they became more central to the plot.
Season 3 will cover about the first half of the 3rd book. The show’s creators have always said that their vision for their show was an adaptation of the series as a whole, not of the individual books. This allows them to move things around a bit in terms of timelines and locations to make more cohesive seasons.Fans of the books will also be excited to know that Meera and Jojen Reed will finally be appearing on the show. Jojen will be played by the adorable Thomas Sangster who some of you will remember as that little boy from Love Actually.
