Let the official marketing push begin. During last night’s 2013 MLB All-Star Game, FOX debuted the first two promo vids for the third season of The X Factor. This maybe jumping the gun a bit, but it looks like Simon Cowell finally got it right with regards to the judging panel. It’s about friggin’ time. The chemistry between Cowell and his angels- Paulina Rubio, Kelly Rowland and Demi Lovato- looks electrifying and genuine. I have to admit, I’m really looking forward to a female-dominated panel.
With that being said, Season 2 promos teased and promoted a very animated Britney Spears and we all know how that turned out. All we got were a bunch of one-word responses and awkward facial reactions. Seems that Simon is still bitter about his decision to bring her on board last season. The British judge serves a little shade to the “Toxic” singer in one of the promos. Check them both out below. The X Factor’s two-night premiere is Sept. 11 and 12 on FOX.
Since The Collective placed third on the Australian edition of The X Factor, naturally comparisons with One Direction will come up since the boy band also came in third during their competition. You might think a rivalry might exist given 1D’s feud with The Wanted. No hatin’ going on here. 1D gave their seal of approval when they popped up during the judges’ home portion of the Aussie reality show. There’s always room for another boy band, right? Especially when one of the members is Zach Russell. He’s the cute 23-year-old on the far left.
The Aussie group dropped their first single “Surrender” back in December which became a Top 10 hit down under. They’re back with a brand new track which I believe might garner them attention outside their native land. DNA, the genius behind Ricky Martin‘s “Come With Me”, has crafted a winner for the quintet. “Another Life” is a slick track with a catchy hook that could easily win over pop lovers around the world. Check out their latest below.
Just days after coming out on national television in the Philippines, Charice shares another personal detail. The 21-year-old singer revealed she’s been in a relationship for months now with Alyssa Quijano. Charice declared, “She’s like my everything,” to journalists about her girlfriend.
The “Pyramid” singer has a tattoo on her chest which reads, “Let’s start with forever.” All you Twihards out there will no doubt recognize that line Robert Pattinson delivered during his wedding toast in The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part I. On Alyssa’s part, she wears a promise ring Charice gave to her.
Before they became involved, the two were once rivals often competing against each other at local singing competitions during their youth. Years later, they met again when Charice was a judge on The X Factor Philippines where Quijano competed. Alyssa didn’t make it far on the show but rebounded by joining the girl group AKA Jam. Check out Alyssa’s X Factor audition below where she tackles a Burlesque track.
Forget Chloe! Drew Chadwick is the one that I want. When the broad-shouldered member of Emblem3 appeared on The X Factor, I found him so douchey, I couldn’t stand him. He’s probably still as douchey, but it’s amazing what a little scruff and a striped tee instead of his go-to tanks can do for a boy’s image. Because now, he’s smokin’ hot. Simon Cowell, you’ve done good ;)
If you weren’t a fan of Emblem3 before, you probably won’t be after checking out their music video for “Chloe (You’re The One I Want).” It’s tailor-made for their teeny bopper fans and lecherous old men like myself. I kid. I’m not that old ;)
The Ray Kay-directed clip features the Huntington Beach trio fooling around in their glitzy dressing room while “beige” girls are ignored/teased by the mean girls in alternating vignettes. In the end, the less-than-popular girls get their revenge as they’re the ones to join Emblem3 on stage, while those snooty bitches get turned away by the bouncers. Check out the clip below.
Just a day after FOX made the official announcement, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio joined Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell at the judges table. The two fresh
women arrived on their first day of their new gig on time. I couldn’t say the same for Cowell.
Three beautiful ladies and Simon is the one who’s taking the longest to get ready. In actuality, the Brit judge kept the three ladies waiting due to traffic problems as a result of flooding caused by heavy rains in the area. The FOX reality show began its first day of filming Season 3 in Charleston, South Carolina on Tuesday May 21.
As the ladies waited for their boss, Kelly joked, “Ooooh, I’ll be Simon,” as she plopped herself in his seat. When Cowell finally arrived, he asked the audience, “Is it a coincidence that when I arrive, everything gets better?” That cocky Brit ;)
Speaking of seating assignments, I was a little surprised that Rowland received the coveted spot by Cowell. Given his chemistry with Lovato, I thought she’d remain in her slot. Perhaps, during the audition process the show will play around with the seating arrangement to determine the best fit. Check out more photos from the first day of filming below.
FOX is expected to make a formal announcement tomorrow when production begins in Charleston, N.C., but EW.com is confirming the official judging lineup for The X Factor Season 3. Unlike previous seasons, or any singing show for that matter, the panel will consist of three ladies and one man. The complete opposite of The Voice’s current format of three men and one woman. I’m sure Simon Cowell won’t mind sharing the spotlight with three talented and attracted women.
As previously reported, it appears Kelly Rowland is heading back to the X Factor family. The 32-year-old singer previously sat on the panel on the UK version, the year Little Mix won. Find out who the third judge is below. Here’s a hint: Cowell is adding a little bit of spice.
Watch out One Direction, you have some boy band competition from your very own X Factor family. Union J even has their very own Harry Styles-looking bloke in the form of George Shelley. That’s where the similarity ends though. This boy band is only a quartet, has an openly-gay singer in the group and for the most part, friends prior to the show. Shelly was added to the trio ( known then as Triple J) once they hit the judges’ homes portion of the competition.
In their brand new clip, Josh Cuthbert, Jaymi Hensley, JJ Hamblett and Shelley do what hipster boys their age do- buy vinyl records, skateboard, shop, ride their bikes and get their hair did at the barber shop. Taking a page from their real-life journey, the boys enter an open mic contest. Hopefully for them, they end up better than their fourth place finish on the show. Check out the clip below. It’s kinda odd that they debuted it now since their single doesn’t officially hit iTunes til June 2.
If you thought Heidi Klum joining America’s Got Talent as a judge was odd, this might just put you over the edge. Clearly, Simon Cowell is going with a different approach as a possible replacement for the departing Britney Spears. You can’t get more out-of-the-box than this. The 53-year-old Brit is very interested with this actress who was once a teen queen on the small screen and on the silver one. Find out who might be joining Demi Lovato and Cowell on The X Factor judging panel below.
