Next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries serves as a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff titled The Originals. If it goes well, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be fronting his own show for 2013-2014 season. If it doesn’t go well, it could end up like that ill-fated backdoor pilot Gossip Girl tried with a young Lily in the 80s.

Originally, a spinoff was planned a couple of years ago with Vampires creator Kevin Williamson but that was put on the back burner so that he could focus on The Secret Circle. Thankfully he rebounded with FOX’s The Following. Soooo good. The second spinoff attempt will have no involvement from Williamson, but will be carried out by Julie Plec.

The network just released an extended promo for next week’s anticipated episode. Klaus heads to New Orleans- a city that his family helped built but then fled 100 years ago. He sees his former protege Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) ruling the Big Easy. He’s envious of his power and wants it for himself. The clip ends with Klaus saying, “I want to be king.” Check out the promo below.

Arguably, The CW has some of the hottest guys on network television. Hell, that’s why I tune in most of the time ;) Without a doubt, Stephen Amell from Arrow is at the top of that list. With his chiseled body and handsome face, this man just oozes sex appeal. Between you and me, the Oliver McQueen actor is as stunning in person. I often bump into him at the gym. Sufficed to say, I always try to get the treadmill with the best view.

As the old saying goes, it takes one to know one. The 31-year-old was put through a test from the folks over at TV Guide. His task was to identify which ripped set of abs belonged to a CW stud. Not surprisingly, dude earned a perfect score. Someone’s apparently been studying his fellow network colleagues’ assets. Watch the video below. After that, check out how I ranked the five guys. If you’re an avid Nielsen Ratings follower, The CW’s decision to renew these three shows shouldn’t be shocking. The only thing remotely surprising is that the network did it this early. The upfronts where networks reveal their 2013-14 schedules are still a few months away. That said, the news is always nice to hear especially to fans and the cast and crew of each show. Another year of regular pay cheques is always a good thing.

There’s no denying Arrow is the season’s breakout hit on The CW if not on all the broadcast networks. It arrived with a bang with 4.3 million viewers and consistently brings in viewers weekly. It’s the network’s most-watched show. Meanwhile, The Vampire Diaries is tops when it comes to the target demographic of adults and women between the ages of 18-34. The supernatural series will return for a fifth season.

I originally crushed on Taylor Kinney back in 2010 as he was about to make his debut as Mason Lockwood on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. Since the 31-year-old actor is one of the stars of NBC’s upcoming Chicago Fire, I thought it was time to update this post and lust over this stud again. As two years have passed since my initial writeup, I’ve added many more photos to this post. After you check out my updated collection of Kinney’s shirtless pics, I’m sure you’ll agree he’s worth selecting as a Man Crush once again.

Kinney was raised alongside his three brothers by their single mother. Before developing an interest in acting, he studied business management at West Virginia University. Like all aspiring actors, he practiced his craft in theatre in such plays as Fallout and A Streetcar Named Desire. His feature films credits include Furnace, White Air and Diary of a Champion.

Before appearing on Chicago Fire, this Pennsylvanian native was best known as Luke Gianni on Fashion House (MyNetworkTV) and for his recurring role on NBC’s now-canceled Trauma. That all changed when he joined The Vampire Diaries cast on The CW. He became even more well known when he began shacking up with Lady Gaga. Taylor even appeared in one of her music videos. Many apologies for the delay with this week’s Man Crush. Definitely got side-tracked with a few site administrative items I had to take care of yesterday. Hopefully, this week’s selection will make up for the fact I left you hanging for a day. Meet Steven R. McQueen. He comes via a suggestion by one of our Homorazzi.com readers. McQueen is best known for “The Vampire Diaries” which I don’t watch, so I’m extremely thankful that he was pointed out to me.

The 23-year-old actor is the grandson of iconic film actor Steve McQueen. Only time will tell if he’ll be able to match his family’s legacy. He’s off to a solid start already. In his relatively short career, he’s racked up some notable credits. Along with the aforementioned Diaries, he had a recurring role on “Everwood” and guest spots on “Number3rs“, “Without A Trace” and “CSI: Miami”. His film credits include “Piranha 3D” and Disney’s “Minutemen”.

Just in case you were wonder what the “R” in his name stands for, it’s a shout-out to his stepfather, Canadian NHL hall of famer Luc Robitaille. When I first saw Steven, I could tell there was a bit of something/something in his lineage. Upon further research, I learned his grandmother Neile Adams (wife of Steven McQueen) was born in the Philippines and of Spanish, German, Filipino, Chinese and English descent. That mixed heritage definitely worked out in the genetics department for Steven R. McQueen. See if you agree after perusing through the selection of pictures I’ve picked out below.

This year’s Teen Choice Award scene stealer winner, Michael Trevino is taking it all off (almost) to model for one of my favorite underwear companies, Body by Bench. If you don’t know much about this Pilipino brand, let me fill you in. This company started up in 1987 with the goal to be recognized world brand among the best world brands. They quickly propelled themselves forward with the use of celebrity endorsements, giant fashion offers, billboards and more. Their clothing line has grown into fragrances, housewares, snacks, and a wide array of other lifestyle products that can be found in virtually every retail outlet in the Philippines. Now, the company has expanded into the United States, the Middle East and even China.

I first caught wind of their amazing underwear when I spotted their local rugby team, The Volcanoes, modeled some of the latest designs. Now, it’s Michael’s turn to don the skimpies. From a brown colored brief to a stunning red boxer brief, Trevino makes these undies look real good! Now, if only Tyler Lockwood would wear this less clothing on The Vampire Diaries. I don’t think anyone would complain, am I right guys? PS: Watch out for Michael in the upcoming film The Factory, in theaters December 19.

This week’s Man Crush has been cock-teasing the gays for a long time. Meet Stephen Amell. He’s shown off his sexy body in two gay-themed television shows already. First, he appeared as a spin instructor on “Queer As Folk” and then dropped trou on the gay supernatural soap opera “Dante’s Cove“. Why wouldn’t he? He’s got some tasty assets. Earlier this month, Amell bared all yet again. This time for HBO’s “Hung” where he plays a busboy-turned-prostitute. His character plays a young rival to the show’s lead character Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane).

Stephen is a 30-year-old actor hailing from Toronto, Canada. He’s worked steadily in his native country and even won a Gemini Award (Canada’s Emmys). In the past couple of years, he’s started to make his splash on the US market. He’s guest starred on several primetime shows including “90210″, “CSI” and “NCIS: Los Angeles”. These roles lead to Stephen joining the cast of “The Vampire Diaries” as a werewolf for the show’s second season.

Now you can see him on a regular basis on this season of “Hung“. I gave this show a shot in its first season but was bored. Even Thomas Jane’s hotness couldn’t save it. With Amell on board, I’ll definitely have to give it a second look, and third, and fourth. Check out Amell’s hotness in several pics below. At the end of the post, I added a little surprise for you. Vampires are so hot these days, it feels like there’s a new vampire-themed movie or TV show popping up every other day. While the undead seem to get all the glory and attention, their mythical furry counterparts often get the shaft. Well, I’m here to correct that.

I never realized this, but apparently I have a thing for werewolves. When I was writing this post, I noticed half of the contenders were previous weekly crushes of mine. I had no clue, these furry shapeshifters were my type. To honor my apparent obsession, I created a poll to ask all you diehard “True Blood“, “Twilight” or “The Vampire Diaries” viewers to decide which werewolf is the hottest. Since there are often more than one werewolf featured in these shows/movies, I opted to only select one from each. I didn’t want the poll dominated by actors from one particular offering.
