Up until now I haven’t been the biggest fan of “Ooh La La” but after watching the clip, I’ve somewhat come around. Watching a glowing Britney Spears hang with cute Smurfs and her even cuter sons Sean Preston and Jayden James is too hard to resist. Even though the Marc Klasfeld-directed clip is on the simple side (it is for a kids movie after all), you simply can’t hate on it even if you tried. Not only does Brit look Smurftastic but she actually seems happy too. She’s one proud momma.
Britney revealed that her sons “were really, really good on set,” adding, “They were, like, acting, and my oldest son, Preston, was right on cue every time they would tell him to do something. Later on, I got to see what they actually did on camera and it was adorable.”
Spears begins the clip sitting in a theater with her boys. She magically then transports to the Smurf Village where she rocks out with Smurfette and the crew. Naturally, footage from Smurfs 2 is incorporated in the visual. After all, the track is meant to drive business to the sequel hitting theaters on July 31. Check out the too cute vid below.
Thank God Robin Antin finally gave up her ridiculous goal to relaunch the Pussycat Dolls with new members. Ever since Nicole Scherzinger and the original girls left, there have been a rotating of wannabe dolls stepping in doing promotional photos but never releasing any music. There were so many different lineups, I lost track. Lauren Bennett (Paradiso Girls), Simone Battle (The X Factor US Season 1), Paula Van Oppen (So You Think You Can Dance), Natasha Slayton and Emmalyn Estrada were the last five girls rumored to be dubbed the new Pussycat Dolls. Antin has rebranded them as G.R.L., labeling them the “next generation” of the Dolls.
The new girl group recently unveiled their debut single “Vacation” which Patrick wrote about earlier in the week. Even though it’s written and produced by recording industry power players Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Bonnie McKee and Henry Walter, I’m not sure if it’s going to be an accurate gauge of what their debut album will sound like. “Vacation” is for the upcoming kids movie Smurfs 2 and is understandably young and a tad generic.
With that being said, I think the girls have potential. For the most part, I like all the members. Hopefully Antin has learned her lesson and won’t pick one girl as the star, leaving the others as glorified backup singers. We all know how that turned out for PCD. “Vacation” is an extra gift with purchase if you buy Britney’s contribution to the soundtrack on iTunes. Just in case you missed Patrick’s post, I thought I’d give my two cents on the next generation of Dolls.
Not too long ago, we got our first listen to Britney Spears‘ “Ooh La La” song, recorded for the soundtrack to the upcoming smurftastic sequel, The Smurfs 2. Since it was leaked, it was removed pretty much everywhere online faster than you can say Gargamel.
Today, the song is offically out and it’s being released on iTunes tomorrow, coupled with another song from the soundtrack called “Vacation” by a group named G.R.L. (aka the NEW Pussycat Dolls lineup!) The song was written by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Bonnie McKee and Henry Walter, and produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut. McKee also wrote “Ooh La La,” while Luke, Martin and Cirkut produced it.
The soundtrack to the movie features other artists that include Nelly Furtado, Owl City, Right Said Fred, and more. I’ve included “Ooh La La” and “Vacation” for you to listen to below, as well as the tracklist for the soundtrack. Enjoy!
Back in January, Britney Spears teased that she was heading to the studio to record a song for her boys. We finally get to hear the fruits of that labor. “Ooh La La” is lifted off the Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Clearly, the track isn’t intended as a club banger or even a radio-friendly single. This one is for the kids ya’ll. With that being said, I’m sure die hard Brit fans are going to eat this up and proclaim it as the second coming. Take a listen below and give your thoughts in the comments section.
The first full trailer for The Smurfs 2 has just come out and it looks good! Truth be told, I never watched the first one because I thought it looked stupid and all of those “Smurfy” references annoyed me. I was the biggest Smurfs fan as a kid and even had all the figurines, but the movie just looked to cheesey for me (which is odd considering how cheesie I am – LOL). That being said, this trailer for the sequel definitely makes me want watch it because it looks like there’s much more of a story to it (of course I could be wrong about the first one though).
In this sequel, the evil wizard Gargamel creates his own brand of pint-size creatures called The Naughties to help him capture the Smurfs once and for all. The Naughties devise a plan to trick Smurfette into becoming naughty like them, and she’ll have so much fun, she’ll never want to go back.
The movie comes out on July 31, 2013 and yes, Neil Patrick Harris is in this trailer as well. Enjoy!
