On Sundays, we try to give more insight of us behind the scenes. Try being the operative word, since I just looked back and it’s been awhile since I wrote something about the cast. My bad. Today, I wanted to put the spotlight on a friend of many of us on the cast.
Meet Anna Thorsen. She’s the Editor-in-Chief of The Social-Life.com. Recently, she launched a new venture called by post street. It’s a limited edition t-shirt and music company which features fashion icons and house & hip hop deejays. The project is a collaboration between Anna and Vancouver street artist, Kat Thorsen (her mom). How adorable is that, right?
by post street held their launch party last weekend at 1181– one of our favorite YVR hangs. Anna is sandwiched between some of the lounge’s hot bar staff. Side note: Carson, to her left, is one of my besties ;) The one on the far right is DJ Adam Dreaddy whom we’ve featured on the site before. He provided wicked tunes throughout the day.
During the event, by post street debuted their first limited run tees, Collaboration 1 [KAR]. A great time was had by all. It was one of the best #sundayfundays I’ve had in a while. Collaborations will be released monthly and will feature podcasts made exclusively by the “DJs-of-the-month” to download for free. 3% of by post street’s net-monthly profits will be donated to Vancouver Friends For Life. Check out the tees below, along with a picture of my friends and myself at the event.
Better watch out Zach Morris, Justin Bieber is encroaching on your territory. Tiffani-
Amber Thiessen wore a Bieber tee at the premiere of Horrible Bosses in New York City last night. The former Kelly Kapowski actress did it to return the love Justin showed when he wore a t-shirt of her character at the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto a few weeks ago.
“I got calls from a million people last Sunday that Justin Bieber wore a T-shirt with my image,” Thiessen tells Zap2it. “I thought it would be a funny back-at-cha moment if I got a T-shirt and wore it to a premiere.”
Thiessen who is currently starring on USA’s “White Collar” admits she has Bieber Fever and thinks his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, is adorable as well. Here’s a little reality check on how young the “Baby” singer is. “Saved By The Bell” aired from 1989 til 1993. The teen heartthrob was born a year later in 1994. GOD, I’M OLD. Check out the t-shirt lovefest after the jump
They’ve only been around for a short while but already, MOGO Wear is starting to make a big name for themselves in the gay fashion market. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly, fun and flirty t-shirt that makes you look and feel good, then you should definitely be wearing one of MOGO’s designs. MOGO which is an acronym for “Men Of Gay Origin“, want you to love being who you are when you are wearing one of their pieces. Some of their most popular products include their line of Nutrition Facts which pick a gay stereotype such as JOCK, PRINCESS, GAYSIAN or BEAR and dissect their content through witty and playful descriptions of the ingredients that make up the specific character. These t-shirts are available in both black and white. What is also great about these shirts is that are made of a unique eco-friendly and antibacterial cotton, bamboo and spandex blend which make them super soft and really durable.
With the launch of their Spring/Summer line for 2011 about to be released through an event this Thursday at J Lounge in Vancouver, BC and the release of their new Gay Advocate Super Hero MOGOMaxx, MOGO Wear is sure to become a gay household name soon and we’d like to help.
