Sven Kramer is 23 years old and stands 6’1 177 lbs, speaks Dutch & English, and has a killer smile, as you can see. He was born in Heerenveen, Netherlands, but lives in Oudeschoot. He’s specialty is Long Track Speed Skating (which runs in his family), with his events including 1500m, 5000m, 10,000m, and Team Pursuit.

He’s at the top of his game: He is the current Dutch, European, and World Allround Champion (so he’s one to look out for) and is also the reigning world champion and world record holder in the 5,000m, 10,000m and the team pursuit, with Wouter Olde Heuvel & Erben Wennemars. Nice work in that spandex!

And the Olympics? Although young, this isn’t his first. On February 11, 2006 he won the silver medal in the 5,000m at the 2006 Winter Olympic in Turin – maybe gold this year? He seems like a bit threat at the very least.
