In honor of Arrow‘s first season concluding this week, I thought I’d pit two of the show’s male stars against each other in our latest Who’d You Rather poll. Given that Colton Haynes will most likely be Stephen Amell’s sidekick next season, it was only appropriate to pit this Batman and Robin-type relationship against each other.

First up is Stephen Amell. This Canadian actor just oozes man. The 32-year-old actor guest starred on numerous shows including Queer as Folk, The Vampire Diaries, 90210 and New Girl to name a few. My favorite was his role on Showtime’s Hung where he played a male prostitute. Lots of gratuitous shirtless scenes. But by far, his biggest role to date is playing Oliver Green on Arrow. The pilot gave the network its highest ratings in years. Those titillating promo posters certainly did the trick. Amell is a recent newlywed, marrying former ANTM alum Cassandra Whitehead.

Next up is 24-year-old Colton Haynes. Haynes started out his career by modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch, Ralph Lauren and JC Penney. Prior to landing his role as Roy Harper on The CW show, Colton played a werewolf twice on ABC’s The Gates and MTV’s Teen Wolf. Before playing Starling City’s most-wanted vigilante on The CW’s Arrow, Stephen Amell rocked that hot body of his on HBO’s Hung. There, the 31-year-old portrayed Jason- a younger male prostitute in competition with Thomas Jane’s hooker character. I know who I’d pick. I’m sure you’d be tempted as well to lay down some serious cash for one magical night with Stephen ;)

Obviously, the role required Amell to film plenty of scenes shirtless and often times only sporting a cock sock or as he puts it a pouch. In fact, he told Jay Leno during an interview on The Tonight Show, he would’ve rather walked around naked than wearing the ridiculous pouch. Amen to that Stephen. I couldn’t agree with you more.

Sadly, the show was canceled after three seasons. Reportedly, the fourth season planned for Amell to have some man on man action. Damn you HBO. Logo recently announced the nominees for their annual NewNowNext Awards. Now in its sixth year, this highly praised and always unpredictable telecast is one big party that grants the gay stamp of approval to pop culture icons and trendsetters as well as stars-on-the-rise and celebrates what’s hot in TV, music, film and fashion for 2013 and beyond.

If you haven’t watch the NewNowNext Awards, they’re a lot of fun. With irreverent and outrageous categories including “Hottest, Sexiest Ink,” “Host with the Most,” “That’s My Jam” and “TV You Betta Watch,” the ceremony is always fun to watch. My personal favorite is the “Cause You’re Hot” award. All of the nominees are definitely worthy of the win. I covered the red carpet and ceremony a couple of years ago and think its time to check them out again. Especially given the caliber of the nominees. I love star gazing.

Winners will be revealed Monday, April 15th at 10/9C, during the 90-minute Logo NewNowNext Awards 2013 telecast.  The special will be taped in front of a live audience of today’s hottest emerging and seasoned artists at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA on April 13th.  Performers, presenters and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks. Arguably, The CW has some of the hottest guys on network television. Hell, that’s why I tune in most of the time ;) Without a doubt, Stephen Amell from Arrow is at the top of that list. With his chiseled body and handsome face, this man just oozes sex appeal. Between you and me, the Oliver McQueen actor is as stunning in person. I often bump into him at the gym. Sufficed to say, I always try to get the treadmill with the best view.

As the old saying goes, it takes one to know one. The 31-year-old was put through a test from the folks over at TV Guide. His task was to identify which ripped set of abs belonged to a CW stud. Not surprisingly, dude earned a perfect score. Someone’s apparently been studying his fellow network colleagues’ assets. Watch the video below. After that, check out how I ranked the five guys. It’s no secret I’m obsessed with Arrow and it’s lead actor, Stephen Amell. Even before the CW premiered the superhero drama, I was smitten with Amell after seeing him as a male prostitute on Showtime’s Hung. Check out my Man Crush post I dedicated to the 31-year-old Canadian actor. Not that any of us mere gay mortals had a shot, but Stephen is officially off the market. Let the collective mourning begin.

On Arrow, Amell is quite proficient with a bow and arrow, but it appears he was victim to Cupid’s aim this time around. In a romantic sunset ceremony in the Caribbean, he wed a former contestant of America’s Next Top Model. I wonder if they met at some sort of CW mixer. Anyhoo, their wedding was officiated by a close friend on Christmas Day. This is the first marriage for both. After their nuptials, the happy couple jetted off to St. Bart’s to ring in the New Year. If you read Homorazzi regularly, you know I have a huge hard-on for the CW’s Arrow. It’s become one of my favorite new shows of the Fall. I expected to tune in to gawk at Stephen Amell’s sculpted body, but it’s the storylines that keep me coming back. With this bit of casting news, I have a whole new reason to keep Arrow on my viewing schedule.

TV Guide first reported that this sexy stud is joining the cast on a recurring basis. He’ll reportedly play Roy Harper, a handsome street-savvy teen from the wrong side of the tracks of Starling City. Obviously, Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) sister Thea ends up falling for him. Who wouldn’t? This guy is sex on wheels. Here’s the best part, the network is confirming that he is “destined” to become an important player on the show. I was watching Emily Owens, M.D. last night when I thought of this battle. On the Ally McBeal meets Grey’s Anatomy medical dramedy, Justin Hartley plays the hot doctor the show’s protagonist pines for. I don’t blame her. Hartley is pretty damn sweet, especially during last night’s episode where there was a lot of close ups on his toned ripped body. SIGH.

I first became acquainted with the 35-year-old actor when he starred on NBC’s now defunct supernatural soap opera, Passions. Remember Little Timmy? That show was so insane. After his stint on daytime, he segued to primetime where he landed the role of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on Smallville. When the CW announced it was developing a show dedicated to the comic book hero, naturally Hartley’s name came up. In the end, producers went another direction.. a sexy one.

When you have someone as hot as Stephen Amell on the network dime, it only makes sense to pimp out your hottest commodity. After all, Amell’s show, Arrow, generated the CW’s biggest audience in almost three years with its 4 million debut. I’m sure a good chunk of those people tuned in based on the shirtless show poster the network used to promote the premiere. I know, I fell victim to the sex sells tactic. Truthfully, the pilot wasn’t half bad and I’ll definitely give it another watch.

To ensure viewers keep tuning it, the network released two brand new promo posters. While one reuses a previous image of Stephen minus the bow & arrow, the other is brand spanking new. If features a crouching Amell with a new tagline, “A Heroic Future Forged By A Tortured Past”. Check out the new artwork below.
