I’ve been on the fence since first hearing “I Want You To Know.” At times I like it and at other times I’m just meh. I just wish it was something that wowed me from the onset. Clearly, I’m in the minority. The EDM track is already a Billboard Hot 100 Top 20 hit. I will say though, the newly-released music video has me rethinking my stance. I’m a sucker for a glossy visual.
Selena Gomez channels her inner disco diva and heads to the club for the colorful music video. There’s not much of a narrative but oh well. She looks flawlessly glamorous which I suppose was the main objective.
The strobe-filled clip finds the 22-year-old singer showing off her dance moves in vintage form-fitting clubbing attire. Zedd appears sporadically popping up at the club looking dapper in a tuxedo. Just in case you were wondering, Zedd and Selena are being dubbed Zeddlena by their fans.
“I Want You To Know” is the lead cut off Zedd’s forthcoming sophomore studio album and is expected to appear on Selena’s first album with her new label, Interscope. Check out the fun clip below.
If the reports are true, Selena Gomez is finally over Justin Bieber and has moved on. #thankgod!!! The 22-year-old singer is now romantically linked to Russian-German music producer, Zedd. Good for her. Not only is the DJ not so douchey but he’ll be beneficial to her recording career.
The rumored couple has teamed up for “I Want You To Know.” It’s clear that these two not only have chemistry out of the recording studio but in it as well. With that being said, the track, while upbeat and fun to listen to, brings nothing new to the EDM genre. It’s no “Clarity” and not even Zedd’s last big hit, “Break Free” with Ariana Grande, but still, a pleasant listen and should do damage on the charts.
“I Want You To Know” will be featured on Zedd’s forthcoming second studio album. Though Zedd produced and wrote the track, reportedly, Ryan Tedder assisted as well. Give the tune a listen below.
Whenever you hear the term ‘baby prostitute‘ from Mean Girls, do you think of Selena Gomez or Ariana Grande? For me, the 22-year-old baby-faced “The Heart Wants What It Wants” singer immediately comes to mind. ‘Human cupcake‘ is a far more apt description for Grande, don’t you think?
Like so many former child stars before her, Gomez goes topless on a magazine cover to show she’s all grown up. Photographer duo Inez & Vinoodh snapped the editorial for V magazine. Check out more photos below, along with more quotes from the accompanying interview conducted by James Franco.
“I think the next time [I have a boyfriend] will be much different…which will definitely not be anytime soon. That’s a growing up kind of thing. I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I’m guarding certain things more.”
I wouldn’t say Thursday night’s results were shocking, but definitely surprising. I can’t believe the truly awful acts advanced, let alone escaped the bottom three. Instead, the ones that were cut were actually acts that didn’t make me cringe whenever they performed. What was America thinking? Check out all the results below, the Save Me sing-off and performances by Selena Gomez and Fifth Harmony.
Last week, Flaunt unleashed a stunning editorial featuring Selena Gomez. While I prefer Selena with longer locks, the bob wig is a nice change of pace. It gives her an edge that suits the fashion spread perfectly. The publication just unveiled an accompanying short film directed by Victoria Mahoney which was also shot on location at the iconic Rosslyn Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Check out the “Come & Get It” singer getting cozy with Shiloh Fernandez below.
“That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her. I actually covered her song in all of my shows that I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue that.”
Kanye West visited Jimmy Kimmel last night to squash their “epic” two week “rap feud.” Even though both maintained that the entire thing wasn’t a publicity stunt or staged, I still call BS. Perhaps not on Kimmel’s part, but the Twitter insults from West’s end reek of a Kardashian antic. Don’t you agree?
In honor of Kanye’s appearance, Jimmy resurrected his Mean Tweets segment. This time only featuring musicians. Watch the likes of Selena Gomez, John Legend, Pharrell, John Mayer,Adam Levine, the Backstreet Boys and Ke$ha read unflattering Tweets about themselves from their respective haters. The insults directed at country artists like Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum are the best. Check out the music edition below.
In the wake of Madonna and Lady Gaga openly defying Russia’s anti-gay law on their soil, the government is making entry into the country more difficult for foreign performers according to the Moscow Times. Russian conservatives tried to file lawsuits against them in the spirit of the controversial law banning the promotion of “nontraditional sexual relationships” to minors that came into effect this summer.
The first one affected by the tougher restrictions is Selena Gomez. The powers that be obviously perceive her as pro-gay, which I assume is probably true. The “Slow Down” singer is forced to cancel two scheduled shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow on September 23 and 25 respectively due to her visa being declined. As someone’s who’s seen her Stars Dance World Tour, they’re missing out. At least from what I can remember ;)
Wednesday night I had the unfortunate opportunity to see the embarrassingly terrible film Getaway, a film that packs an hour and a half with so many crashes, wrecks, flips, stunts and swerves that the audience barely knows where they are or what is going on at any given moment. After about 20 minutes I was nauseous with a headache.
Allegedly there was a very thin plotline somewhere underneath the crashes and explosions but I found it hard to keep track of or give enough attention to. The film follows retired racecar driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) who comes home to find his wife has been kidnapped. He soon learns that if he doesn’t follow the instructions of a mysterious man on a phone (Jon Voight), his wife will be killed. His first instruction is to steal a car, and this is where the film goes downhill. Magna soon picks up an unexpected passenger (Selena Gomez), who turns out to the owner of the car attempting to steal her own car back from Magna. If this sounds as stupid to you as it did to me, you might as well stop here.
