“I Really Like You” was supposed to be Carly Rae Jepsen’s huge comeback. From the onset, critics praised it for its infectious beat and catchy chorus. For some reason though, it just hasn’t connected with the general public. It hasn’t even cracked the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40. It’s truly shocking how underwhelming the song’s performance is.
Jepsen and her manager Scooter Braun are desperate to save whatever life “I Really Like You” has left. The thirst is real folks.
Braun convinced Justin Beiber to enlist a bunch of famous friends to film a lip dub clip for the track. Watch Ariana Grande, Lance Bass, David Foster, K-pop star CL, Empire‘s Bryshere Gray, Kendall Jenner and many more below be unofficial ambassadors for Carly Rae.
Last night, the 2013 Grammy Nominations concert took place, revealing this year’s nominees and inadvertently, those who surprisingly weren’t nominated. Leading the pack this year were Fun., Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean, and Kanye West who scored six nominations each. Following their lead were The Black Keys and Miguel with five nods. Vocal powerhouse, Kelly Clarkson was treated to four nominations, Taylor Swift got three, and Canada’s own Carly Rae Jepsen, got two nominations.
Both Justin Bieber & Nicki Minaj were both snubbed by the Grammys this year. Nicki Minaj was nominated for “Best Rap Album” last year, but moving into the pop category this year, she didn’t make the cut. I’m genuinely surprise that Bieber didn’t get nominated for his Believe album – I thought the album was quite strong myself. His manager Scooter Braun took to Twitter to voice his opinion. After first congratulating Carly Rae Jepsen, he said, “this time there wont be any wise words, no excuses, I just plain DISAGREE. The kid deserved it. Grammy board u blew it on this one… He later added, “the hardest thing to do is transition, keep the train moving. the kid delivered. Huge succesful album, sold out tour, and won people over…” In another tweet, he insisted, “…this time he deserved to be recognized and I dont really have any kind nice positive things to say about a decision i dont agree with.”
In any event, he didn’t get nominated but the giant list of people below did. The 55th annual Grammy Awards air Sunday, February 10, on CBS. Check out the nominees below. As a side note, Donovan had previously listed his “Best New Artist” predictions, getting two out of the thirteen options listed correct. I’ve made note of the two he got right underneath that category. In his poll, post people picked Carly Rae Jepsen, but she actually wasn’t nominated in that category.
You think you know everything about Justin Bieber? Think again. One of the world’s favorite interviewers, Oprah Winfrey literally just finished her sit down chat with one of the world’s biggest popstars along with his famed manager, Scooter Braun. After pictures started appearing on Instragram via Scooter and Justin, it was quickly confirmed that both had joined Oprah for an episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter.
Yesterday, Oprah was a special guest on Good Morning America and gave the viewers a sneak preview of what to expect during her sit down with the Biebs. Oprah took Justin to her favorite restaurant in Chicago for a meal and afterwards, the two hit Ralph Lauren to doing a little shopping. Justin also serenaded the crowd outside the restaurant. Justin’s episode will debut on November 24th worldwide- Oprah’s biggest television broadcast since Michael Jackson in 1993. First look preview below.
Carly Rae Jepsen has been seriously feeling the love south of the border. But, before we get there, let us start from the beginning. A while back, Carly released a little song titled Call Me Maybe. The bubbly pop track immediately caught fire with Canadian radio and the music video garnered a huge amount of attention with the help of hottie Holden Nowell. And then, the unthinkable happened.
One day, Selena Gomez tweeted a picture of Justin Bieber driving his car with a giant grin on his face. The reason? Simple. The catchy hook of Carly’s hit song. Immediately, people were Googling like crazy trying to find out just who this little Canadian treasure was. Suddenly, Call Me Maybe rocketed to the number one spot on iTunes giving her instant international fame. Then on Much Music’s
Now, the love continues with a little video that has gone viral. Starring Ashley Tisdale, Selena and Bieber and a few other friends, the crew lip syncs along to the infectious song while donning little plastic moustaches and goofing off with banana telephones. There is no doubt this video is going to make this track popular among the teeny-bopper fans and I cannot wait to see where Carly ends up this year.
This past Sunday in Manchester, England, Willow Smith and fans were in for a surprise when Justin Bieber played a prank on his tour mate, Willow Smith. Not only do Justin Bieber and I share the same birthday, but we apparently both love to pull pranks on people too.
Bieber got his manager Scooter Braun and swagger coach Ryan Good to get all done up in some “Whip My Hair” extensions and ambush Willow on stage. She looks confused at first, but then has fun with it and asks the audience to give it up for her “backup dancers”. Bieber then comes on stage and whips his newly cut hair a bit before running backstage.
After their set, Willow Smith and her girls debrief about the prank backstage, where Willow vows to get revenge, saying, “They got me, but it’s not over. Revenge is sweet, and it’s served on a cold dish.” Watch the kids and their shenanigans below.
