Confession time. With exception to only a couple of episodes, I haven’t really been watching Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The only way I keep up to date with everything is from Tommy’s weekly interviews with the eliminated queen. Based on his level of excitement for the phone call and line of questioning, I can pretty much figure what transpired. After watching this brilliant fan video, I’m making it a priority to watch the fabulousness that is Alyssa Edwards.
B. Ames remixed all of Alyssa’s memorable quotes from this season and created an awesome little track called “Drop Dead Gorgeous.” Keeping it real, it’s a lot catchier than most of the produced singles by former Drag Race contestants. Props to Matthew Bell as well for editing such an entertaining music video.
It’s easy to see why Alyssa Edwards is a fan favorite. With her hilarious facial expressions and even more hilarious one-liners, this woman is reality gold. It’s no wonder, a rumored spinoff is in the works. RuPaul even brought Edwards with him for the MTV Movie Awards last week. When questioned why Ru invited Alyssa, he sent a tweet seemingly confirming Alyssa’s show. Check out “Drop Dead Gorgeous” below. I guarantee you’ll love it.
Oh Detox. One of my favorites in the world Detox. I have been a fan of hers since forever ago. I absolutely love her because shes original and creative, doesn’t give a crap and just stays true to herself.
We gabbed about the “bullying” nonsense from Monday’s RuPaul’s Drag Race episode, her hardest challenge and her team up with Willam and Vicky Vox. Detox is so ridiculously fierce but I personally don’t think she was represented well on the show. That’s my opinion and it’s the right one #sorryboutit!
Take a listen below, and we will be seeing more of Detox at the reunion!
EXCLUSIVE! I LOVE EXCLUSIVES!
The gorgeous people at World of Wonder have sent ME (and Homorazzi of course) an exclusive look at the next RING MY BELL! Seriously they haven’t even posted it. #sofamous
If you don’t know what RMB is, it’s a chance for you to call in and ask a question to your favorite WOWlebrities. Raven, Yara, Willam, Gloria Shuri Nava and now Santino have all cut clips and they are hysterical. In Santino’s clip he talks about why he doesn’t dress Ru, and about a new feature they should implement in Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race?
What would you have asked Santino? I know I would’ve just called and screamed SHAKE THE DICE AND STEAL THE RICE *click*. How funny would that be?!? Take a look at the video below,
I don’t think there has ever been such a huge amount of opinion regarding an episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race as there is about last night’s episode. I’m not going to talk about the show because I already did in my review. What I want to do is post Roxxxy Andrew’s reaction to the episode last night.
Here it is:
FINAL FOUR! Did you guess right? I TOTALLY DID! Roxxxy, Jinkx, Detox and Alaska! KAPOW!
The final four- as in every season- have to do a mini pageant, and this season it was the SUGAR BALL! Each of the queens had to make 3 looks:
This was Roxxxy’s challenge to lose 100%. I said it last week, and I totally believed it right up until the end of the episode. Alaska was doing well, but she was having trouble with her candy couture: it kept breaking apart. Detox was struggling, as I feel she has been all season and I still don’t know why. Honestly, Detox is FIERCE, but girl, sometimes you just done have it. And, then there’s Jinkx, oh poor poor Jinkx. This episode was just a a plain ol’ mess for her from the antlers, to the skirt to the unrealized looks. Jinkx was definitely in over her head on this challenge, which was sadly unsurprising because I totally knew this was coming. And, now for the point of the entire episode: has Jinkx just been lucky this season? Roxxxy and Detox seem to think so, and I can’t say that I disagree.
I totally party fouled guys! I totally missed my Wednesday interview with Coco and had to do it yesterday which is why we are a day late. WHOOPS! At least we got something. The most polarizing cast member this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I chatted with Coco about her mutual respect for Alyssa Edwards, what she though her hardest challenge was, her Vegas show and which queen she thought was her biggest competition.
Take a listen below and come back on Tuesday to see my thoughts on the newest episode!
Interview after the jump…
It’s the makeover episode! I guess this season we have the family member, it’s not really specific as to what family member with the made over partners because we got a wide array of ages right? Let’s start at the beginning shall we?
The Mini Challenge this week was working out with boobs or something. I find it so pointless when they do challenges like this, I have no idea what it has to do with anything but whatever. So the winner of the mini challenge was Alaska. After her win we find out who the queens are making over, and it’s OUT ARMY VETS! DADT was repealed so that is what they latched onto this year. I LIVED for these army queens honestly, so so so funny. Some of them were just SUCH queens like the one Detox got paired up with. Honey she just wanted to get into some pumps as soon as she good (CHECK YOUR DRAG DETOX!!!)
I woke up yesterday in an awful mood. I was cranky, I didn’t want to go for my run, I didn’t want to go to work I was just not into it.
Enter ALYSSA EDWARDS.
Now I have made it VERY clear where I stood with Alyssa from the beginning of this season, she wasn’t one of my favorites but then she grew on me and by the time she left I found myself quoting her one liners, doing the Alyssa Face in the mirror and just living for everything she was giving me on that show. We had a 20 minute interview and it is definitely in my top 5 favorite interviews ever. By the time it was over I was in a great mood.
I’m going to miss you on my TV Alyssa but because of you I now know what to say to someone when they wear too much bronzer.
GIRL, look how orange you fucking look GIRL!
