You gotta hand it to Manila Luzon, she is hustlin harder than any other bitch in the game. Today she gave us a delicious holiday treat, her new music ft. our current reigning Next Drag Superstar Jinkx Monsoon.
If you’ve heard the song (available on iTunes) it’s all about self empowerment and living ever day to it’s fullest. It’s also very special because it features the story of a young Sahara Davenport and we even get a cameo from our dearly departed queen.
I want to talk about the outfits in this video. In true Manila form we have got some GREAT looks, but my personal fave is the Spongebob dress and Jinkx and the starfish with the dreads. That’s a REALLY good look for Jinkx, she should totally wear that when she comes to Vancouver for Battle of the Seasons (Tickets online HERE!)
It always amazes me how drastically most drag queens look without the wigs, makeup and stilettos. Seriously, these bitches are talented. Sometimes the finished product is truly drop dead gorgeous.
Now that you’ve met the queens competing on Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, it’s time to tackle the big question at hand. Forget about who’s going to be “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” Let’s determine who the cutest boy is without all the glitz and glamooooooor.
Weigh in below on which contestant looks best out of drag and also which transformation is the most stunning. Obviously, this is meant to be fun and cheeky so keep the comments relatively hater-free. Thanks. Let’s keep reading the filth to the professionals- Ru’s squirrels ;)
Side note: If anyone knows the real names of the queens I couldn’t find, it would be much appreciated.
We had a big weekend for us Drag Race fans, we finally got to see the new cast for RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6. Now if you’re like me and have eyes, ears and a computer, you probably knew this cast already. The cast of RPDR is literally the worst kept secret in gay town. I will give MAJOR props to each queen who consistently deny deny deny, confidentiality agreements and all. My favourite part (and this is really silly), is when they release the boy pictures all the fans just started naming off names of each of the girls on the leaked list thinking it was them, when it was someone else completely. Also LOTS of nepotism this season. Cast members are drag mothers, sisters, best friends of previous contestants which gets me to think…is that all there is left out there?
Anyhow let’s get to know these bitches and I’ll tell you who my top girls are (I’ve never been wrong before!)
The time has come…for WoW to release the first teaser trailer for the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race!
They are only giving us 10 seconds of Ru probably looking the fiercest she has ever looked in a striped catsuit and Hair up to There wig! That is all they are giving us and that is what we will take.
I’m sure next we’re going to get a picture of the queens without their faces on, then we will get a picture of the queens, then we’ll get the final trailer.
One thing I noticed is that it’s coming in FEBRUARY, not JANUARY!
Take a look at the tuck tease below!
Are you in need of a RuPaul’s Drag Race fix until Season 6 premieres? Look no further. A few of your favorite alums from the reality show strutted their stuff for Marco Marco during LA Fashion Week. His designs have been worn by the likes of Nicki Minaj, Fergie and Selena Gomez to name a few.
The show was so fierce Adam Lambert and Lindsay Lohan attended the extravaganza. Alyssa Edwards, Shangela, Yara Sofia, Carmen Carerra, Raja, Manila Luzon, Willam and Detox brought the designer’s latest collection to life. For your added enjoyment, a few shirtless male models were thrown in the mix. Check it out below.
To tell the “trooooooooth” (in Cher’s voice), I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner. It’s a match made in heaven.
LOGO enlisted some of the more popular alums of RuPaul’s Drag Race to film a music video for Cher’s latest dance hit “Woman’s World.” Naturally, Chad Michaels is front and center since she’s most known for her Cher impersonations. The All-Stars winner channels the dance diva by wearing her infamous attention-grabbing Academy Awards outfit.
Joining Michaels in the clip are Shangela, Manila Luzon, Willam and Alyssa Edwards. Both Shangela and Manila look to Cher’s music videos for inspiration, picking looks from her “If I Could Turn Back Time” and “Believe” clips. Alyssa serves up Mermaids Cher realness, while Willam goes old school, harkening back to the 67-year-old icon’s “Half-Breed” era. Check out the homage visual below.
The minute anybody started paying attention to Sharon “The Fucking Future of Drag” Needles, girlfriend was in some hot water. It turned out she occasionally liked to perform wearing blackface and swastikas, brag on Facebook/Twitter about how she’s sooooo edgy, she “[doesn't] say n-word..i say nigger…” and associate her employers and all their countrymen with mass murder.
After a near-perfect run on drag race (having only fallen into the bottom two when it didn’t matter, as Willam was disqualified that episode anyway), Needles was finally told to sashay away this May the instant her spiked heel hit the airport runway in Vienna, Austria. Needles was booked to perform at the Life Ball, a schmancy international AIDS fundraiser (we’re assuming there was no distasteful punning with her name intended). Upon arrival, Needles, apparently drunk but probably in total control of her image and artistry as she is at all times because she’s obviously a genius, proclaimed she was happy to be in Vienna, the birthplace of Hitler.
That carefully planned performance piece must have gone over my head, because I thought Hitler was born in Braunau am Inn.
According to other passengers on the flight, Needles also told this joke: “Did you hear the one about the baby with AIDS? It never gets old.”
I’m surprised RuPaul didn’t think of this sooner. The grand dame of RuPaul’s Drag Race is heading out on the road. Correction. Ru herself isn’t going, but she’s sending her trusty hag Michelle Visage to oversee and host the Battle of the Seasons tour. Tickets go on sale today Friday, July 19. No stalling and be sure to act quickly just in case the show in your city sells out.
“I am honored to be the hostess (a.k.a drag mother) to these talented queens, and we are overjoyed to be working with the legendary Live Nation to bring the art of drag to yet another level: theater,” Michelle Visage said. “RuPaul’s Drag Race has given the art form a voice, and we cannot wait to use it at a theater near you!”
