Rev your engines basic bitches. It’s almost that time again to witness epic new lip sync battles, watch animated gif-worthy scenes and learn new catty shady phrases. In other words, the search for “America’s Next Drag Superstar” is here.

During Logo’s telecast of the 2014 NewNowNext Awards, the network ‘Ru-vealed‘ the colorful new batch of drag queens competing on the 7th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. “This year we have some of the youngest and oldest contestants in RuPaul’s Drag Race herstory,” Ru said in a statement. “Study each queen closely. Do not underestimate anyone. The girls that make it to the top this season will shock you.”

I’m pretty sure our resident drag expert Tommy D will share his two cents on this year’s crop soon. Until then, check out the new cast below, along with the first video teaser. Be sure to weigh in on which ones are your early favorites.

Adore Delano channels Alice In Wonderland for her latest visual,”Party” – the third single off the RuPaul’s Drag Race alum’s debut album Till Death Do Us Party. With the album, the former American Idol hopeful became the first Drag Race alum to land on the iTunes Dance chart above the likes of Mariah Carey and Iggy Azalea. It debuted at No. 1 on the chart, No. 11 overall and No. 59 on the Billboard Top 200. Well done Adore!!!

“It’s a fun, catchy summer pop song”, Adore Delano says. “’Party’ was inspired by high school and all my friends doing things we shouldn’t have been doing. The guy at the liquor store by my house thought I was a hot chick so he would sell me alcohol and cigarettes and I would give them out to all my friends.”

Party” samples a melody from Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start The Fire.” The accompanying video is all about having fun and being young, as per Adore’s statement. She has an Alice In Funderland-inspired backyard party. Much to my surprise, I saw Homorazzi’s very own Matt appearing in the clip. He’s the one in the preppy outfit wearing a blue sweater over his shoulders. Check out the video below.

They Crowned the Clown and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, at one point, I was getting a bit nervous about the finale because Adore was picking up a bit of steam. I even heard that they filmed a fourth ending with Bianca and Adore both winning. Thank god that wasn’t the result, could you imagine splitting the money! Bianca would’ve been pissed!

I thought the reunion was pretty good. My favourite looks were definitely Milk, Trinity and I REALLY liked how Jocelyn was just so happy and bubbly. Laganja looked a RIGHT mess: what the hell was with that wig? Gia was her usual annoying self, Magnolia got booed, I totally forgot about Kelly Mantle & Ben DelaCreme won Miss Congeniality which I wasn’t really happy with. I understand why she won though. She was eliminated way too early and people got pissed off so they had to give her something. Personally, this year it should’ve been Joslyn Fox or Trinity for congeniality. They really were the only two who stood up for people and gave them pep talks.

The countdown is on to crown America’s Next Drag Superstar which means you can expect all the queens to be pulling out all the stops to secure the top spot. This morning I woke up to a new music video in my inbox from the talented Courtney Act and it has everything a gay could need – half naked men, gorgeous glamazons, fake tans and the RuPaul’s Drag Race top 3.

It’s no secret Courtney Act has a set of pipes on her so naturally I was expecting some sort of musical endeavor to crop up from #TeamCourtney. Well the wait is over because “Mean Gays” is here! Courtney sights moving to West Hollywood and feeling the pressures of fitting in as inspiration for the song. Her Drag Race top 3 sisters Bianca Del Rio and Adore Delano also make fun cameos in the video.

“I had a difficult time balancing my work and play lives. On the one hand, I loved drag and performing as Courtney. On the other hand, I felt an immense pressure to go to the gym and get the right body so I could fit in with the West Hollywood boys.

“It’s fun to be a part of a clique but when the group starts to influence how you feel about yourself, or how you act towards other people, it is time to reevaluate the situation. It’s important to be in touch with what feels right for you, surround yourself with people who respect the way you choose to live and always be an individual.”

People have given Courtney flack for coming across a bit too honest and cold at times. I just think when you do enough self work you get to a point of “take me or leave me because this is who I am” and Courtney seems to have gotten to this level. She’s been around the block enough to have a polished look and know who she is so good for her. As Mama Ru always says, “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gunna love somebody else. Can I get an amen!”

Did I forget to mention that the top 4 will all be coming to Toronto for World Pride and performing at the Green Space Main Event on June 28th and it’s just a $10 donation at the door. Get there early so you won’t be disappointed as I’m sure this event will get PACKED out!

So, can we just crown Bianca Del Rio already? Honestly, this whole season has been leading up to her getting that crown and that cheque- it’s not even funny. Even when you think she’s going to mess up (like today) she pulls it out and dominates the challenge!

The final contest for everyone today was RuPaul’s music video. They had to learn Sissy choreography, do a couple of improv acting bits and even a treadmill catwalk. Bianca, Courtney, Adore and Darienne all worked it out hard for the final challenge and each had their strengths, but it truly is Bianca Del Rio that has risen to the top of the season.

What the hell was that?

I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt so completely screwed by an elimination! That was complete and utter bullshit I can’t even tell you. I think the last time was when Chad Michaels beat Latrice Royale for the final 3 in season 4. What a crock of shit.

I read a lot of people’s reviews online because I wanted to see how we are all feeling, and while this season has some of the strongest competitors ever with Bianca, Adore & the now eliminated Ben; it’s been the biggest mess since All Stars. I have no idea what RuPaul is thinking with the eliminations. I have no idea what the JUDGES are thinking with what they like and don’t like. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the absolute brilliance of Bianca, I would’ve stopped watching this season a while ago. Ok maybe not, but still, I’m kind of over it.

I KNOW you missed me last week but I was moving my life, so it was utter chaos and I couldn’t write my recap. Here is the quick version: Courtney won & wore wings on the runway; Trinity got kicked off after she had to lip sync against Adore; Joslyn had a meaty tuck and completely missed the ball on the runway theme; Bianca was amazing as always; Ben was a fly; and, they did a talk show challenge where they had to interview Chaz Bono and Georgia Holt.

There was also an episode before that where Ben and Darienne had to lip sync and no one went home. It was really stupid because Darienne should have been sent home.

That was a LOT.

That was a lot of drag; that was a lot of crying; that was a lot of bad stand up; and, that was enough of Laganja. A few weeks ago I mentioned that Gia was the worst contestant I think they’ve ever had, and after tonight, I have to recant. The worst contestant this show has had has to be Laganja.

I think instead of directly jumping into the recap of these two episodes I want to talk more about the season and where we’re at so far. We’ve officially hit the  midway point after tonight and we are really starting to see who is going to be in our final this season (we’ve only got a few episodes left before that so we really better be). There is one real stand out this season, some are presenting as rising stars, and one that so far hasn’t really made her mark yet.
