WOW, is all I have to say. The voting for the first round of our “Man Crush 2010 Showdown” exceeded our expectations. Over 22,000 votes were cast in just seven days. After all the seesawing back and forth, Scott Herman bested all others and has a secured a spot in the finals. Runner-up Henry Cavill came in second, losing by only 600 votes from first place.
All is not lost for Cavill fans. Depending on how the rest of the two remaining rounds go, he has a shot at two wild card slots. The finals will have the winner of each of the three rounds and the two crushes who had the highest number of votes but didn’t advance. With over 12000 votes cast, Cavill has a good shot of earning a finals berth and getting a little payback.
If you enjoyed “Man Crush 2010 Showdown” Round 1, you’re going to love Round 2. It has even sexier guys than the previous set. The list includes a trio of werewolves, a “Teenage Dream” and someone who hangs out with wild animals. Dangerous and sexy. Yum. Check out the studs in contention below and see why they were my weekly crushes during the months of May til August. Don’t forget to cast your votes daily and often.
Voting ends Monday Dec 20 when Round 3 begins.
Tonight was a night FULL of amazing dance as I was able to check out the preview screening of the upcoming third installment in the Step Up franchise; Step Up 3D. Our boy Jonny was on hand prior to the show starting to announce a few of the sponsors of the evening and give away a few prizes including the Step Up 3D soundtrack. Now before I go ranting about the movie (believe me it will be a rant) I want to give a shout out to the soundtrack peeps. Nice work! Alicia Keys and Jay Z’s Empire State of Mind made the cut as did the new Flo-rida ft. David Guetta jam, Club Can’t Handle Me.
I LOVE this song, and ran home post-flick to download it. Check it out:
So on to the review. As mentioned, this film was the third installment of the Step Up franchise, directed by Jon Chu and was written by Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer. The storyline took a unique twist this time around and decided to follow a male character through his journey from the previous Step Up 2 the Streets plot; Moose, played by Adam G. Sevani. Accompanying him in this all-star dance troop were Homorazzi’s previous hottie of the week (thanks to Donovan), Rick Malambri and rising starlette, Sharni Vinson. Equally important was the numerous So You Think You Can Dance alumni that managed epic big screen break-out performances, including; Stephen ‘Twitch’[ Boss (currently an all-star on season seven of SYTYCD); Jonathan ‘Legacy’ Perez and season four winner, Joshua Allen.
This week’s crush could very well be the next Channing Tatum. He’s got the looks, sex appeal and more importantly… the boy can DANCE. In his first lead role, Rick Malambri will hoof and dance his ways into people’s heart in the upcoming Step Up 3D. He’ll play Luke, a NYC street dancer who participates in a high-stakes showdown against the world’s best hip hop dancers. The role should be an ease since Malambri is a breaker himself.
With his 6’2″ muscular frame, it should come as no surprise he started out modeling for brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and more. Though Step Up 3D is his first major breakout role, he’s guest starred on the small screen on How I Met Your Mother & Criminal Minds and on the silver screen in Universal Soldiers. The Floridian-born stud has a few movies coming up the pipeline including A Holiday Heist, 10,000 Doors and We Are Champions.
Unfortunately for all gay men and single women out there, Rick is happily married. He wed his girlfriend Lisa Mae just recently in May 2010. Boooooo. While everyone else is S.O.L., Johnny Depp is one lucky guy. Malambri would love to act with Depp one day. Let’s hope it’s a Brokeback Mountain sort of deal. In his spare time, Rick loves to dance and play video games.
