Being the face of the revolution against President Snow pays.

Forbes reveals that Jennifer Lawrence is the highest paid actress over the past 12 months. At a whopping $52 million, she soars above her compatriots. No doubt a good chunk of that coin comes from The Hunger Games franchise. Her lucrative endorsement deals for brands such as Dior certainly pad her bank account quite nicely as well.

Coming in at the runner-up slot is Scarlett Johansson at $35 million thanks to The Avengers and Lucy. Rounding out the Top 3 is Melissa McCarthy at $23 million.

Last year’s top dog Sandra Bullock falls to No. 15 on this year’s list, earning $8 million according to the publication. Check out below which other actresses are laughing all the way to the bank.

It’s hard to imagine anyone else besides Reese Witherspoon teaching the world the ‘Bend and Snap,’ but it almost happened. While promoting her new film Vacation, Christina Applegate revealed she received the script after recently wrapping up Married… With Children. Understandably, she was hesitant to play another ditzy blonde.

With the 2001 comedy becoming a huge hit and spawning a sequel and musical adaptation, not surprisingly, she regrets that decision. “What a stupid move that was, right?” she said.

Watch the short interview with Entertainment Tonight below to hear her thoughts on Witherspoon taking over and more.

The teen version of Dangerous Liaisons set in modern-day New York wreaked havoc on the box office in 1999. Cruel Intentions raked in over $75 million with only a $10 million production budget behind it. Not too shabby. Two sequels featuring none of the main cast were filmed, but went straight to home video. Not surprising.

The ladies of the teen flick met up recently for a girls night out. Reese Witherspoon shared a couple of pics of her posing with her former co-stars, Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

They all look genuinely happy to be together again. After seeing the below photos, I’m craving a sequel but only if the original cast reunited on-screen. Check out the epic reunion below.

This casting is absolutely brillballs. Reese Witherspoon has been tapped to play everyone’s favorite fairy in a new live-action film based on the classic Peter Pan character, Tinkerbell.

Hollywood Reporter reveals the 39-year-old actress will not only play the titular character in Tink, but she’ll produce it as well. Bruna Papandrea, her partner at their production banner, Pacific Standard, will also co-produce

After seeing Sofia Vergara at the recent ACM Awards, some viewers were scratching their heads as to why the Modern Family actress was there. Obviously, she was there to promote her film Hot Pursuit co-starring Reese Witherspoon, but why appeal to the country crowd. Now, it all makes sense.

Miranda Lambert just debuted her offering to the film soundtrack. With Mrs. Blake Shelton channeling her inner lawbreaker with Carrie Underwood in “Something’ Bad,” she seemed an obvious choice to deliver the lead cut for the film. Lambert revealed to Ryan Seacrest on how she got involved.

“Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both. I got inspired,” she said. “It was a bit of a Thelma and Louise theme and that’s totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it.” – Miranda Lambert told Ryan Seacrest

Securing a top musician is a savvy business move by studios since soundtracks generate big business these days. Snagging Miranda seems to work on paper, but “Two of a Crime” is a bit underwhelming. It’s kinda all over the place. It’s a bit country and rock with some Latin flavor added in as an afterthought.

I suppose she was only following Reese’s orders who advised her to whip up something “Southern and a Latin flavor.” That’s not even the oddest thing. For some reason ,the last half of the song is mostly instrumental. So weird. I’ll chalk up this fail to it being Miranda’s first time writing a song specifically for the big screen. Lately, Reese Witherspoon has been all about showing off her dramatic chops in fare like Wild, Devil’s Knot and The Good Lie. She returns to comedy in the buddy film, Hot Pursuit. It appears it was a smart move. The film has the potential to be this Summer’s sleeper hit based on the trailer.

Witherspoon plays a police officer assigned to protect Sofia Vergara who is set to testify against a major drug cartel. Naturally, hilarious hijinks occur as crooked lawmen and drug dealers pursue them. Love their reactions as they learn how news reporters have been describing them. One gets a little older, while the other more diminutive. I’m pretty sure you can guess which one is which.

Hot Pursuit is slated to open in theaters on May 8 during Mother’s Day weekend. Check out the trailer below and weigh in afterward. These two have fantastic chemistry.

First Devil’s Knot Trailer Released

In: Donovan, Movies

Based on Mara Leveritt’s 2002 book of the same name, Devil’s Knot tells the true story of the savage murders of three young children in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1993. Due to the brutal nature of the crime, the community and police department were convinced the murders were the work of a satanic cult. Three teenagers known as the West Memphis Three were falsely accused of killing the boys and subsequently sentenced to life in prison.

Devil’s Knot first premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Acclaimed Canadian director Atom Egoyan helms the film which stars Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth. The former plays a mother of one of the murdered boys, while the latter plays a private investigator. Mireille Enos, Dane DeHaan, Stephen Moyer, Amy Ryan and Alessandro Nivola round out the cast. The movie gets a wide release on January 24, 2014. Check out the first trailer below.

Who Should Play Hillary Rodham Clinton?

In: Donovan, Movies

Rodham isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until the 2016 Presidential Election, but that isn’t stopping the film’s director from giving interviews about it and spilling some major casting details. James Ponsoldt chatted with The Independent about which four ladies he has his eyes on to play a young Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive,” Ponsoldt told The Independent. “I want a wonderful actress who could embody that.”

The biopic will focus on Clinton’s time as a House Judiciary Committee lawyer in her twenties. She served as a counsel to the committee during the Watergate scandal. There are rumors that Kim Young II’s script includes many racy scenes. When the scribe was asked about it, he coyly replied, “It’s an evolving process so I don’t know. She was an attractive 26-year-old with an amazing future. And that’s our thematic focus.” I’m not sure if the world is ready for a 50 Shades of Hillary type of flick. Don’t you agree?

Two of the four supposed frontrunners for the political role of a lifetime are Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon. If I had to chose between these two ladies, I’d cast my vote for Witherspoon. Her role as Tracy Flick in the 1999 film Election is exactly what I’d picture a young Clinton to be. Find out the other two ladies below.
