“Between good cop and bad cop there are Shades of Blue,” the NBC drama teases. Jennifer Lopez not only headlines Shades of Blue but also serves as an executive producer. And based on the first full trailer, Lopez’s cop character is one shady, shady, shady lady. You get the sense she’s a dirty cop.

Shades of Blue follows New York detective and single mother Harlee Santos (Jennifer Lopez) as she is forced to work with the FBI’s anti-corruption task force while dealing with her own financial problems. Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo also star in the police series.

With Lopez appearing in the final season of American Idol on FOX and Shades of Blue on NBC, avoiding J. Lo on the small screen will prove near impossible in 2016. The mid-season show makes its premiere on January 7, taking over the slot currently occupied by the Wesley Snipes series, The Player. Check out the trailer below.

The first trailer for an upcoming crime drama called The Place Beyond the Pines has come out, starring the sexy Ryan Gosling! You’ll also be happy to know that the very first shot of him in the trailer is him with his shirt off. Yum.

Gosling plays a motorcycle stunt rider whose life takes a different path when he finds out that his ex (Eva Mendes) had a baby… and it’s his. Struggling to figure out how he’s going to support the baby, he considers committing a crime in order to provide for his newborn child, an act that puts him on a collision course with a cop-turned-politician, played by Bradley Cooper. The movie looks really good and US Weekly described Gosling’s performance as “electric” and Indiewire said “Bradley Cooper has never been better.”

Also starring in the movie are Rose Byrne, Ray Liotta, Bruce Greenwood, Dane DeHaan, and Ben Mendelsohn. The film comes out on March 29, 2013. As a sidenote, the song in the trailer is really good and if you’re wondering what it is called and who it’s by, it’s “The Snow Angel” by Mike Patton. Check out the trailer below.

A new trailer starring Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks for a film called The Details has just been released and we’ve got your first look at the comedy below.

Maguire and Banks play a struggling married couple who are struggling with issues like infidelity and whether or not they should stay married. Things reach a whole new level when some uninvited ravenous raccoons are burrowing under the sod in their back yard. The two have a disagreement over how to get rid of them, and this leads two a chain reaction of unfortunate situations. Seriously, it looks like one major disaster after another.

The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but when it comes out I’ll certainly check it out. It also stars Laura Linney, Dennis Haysbert, Ray Liotta, and Kerry Washington. Check out the trailer below.

The trailer has just been released for the Dimension Films “true story” movie called The Iceman. The film centers around Richard Kuklinski, a loving husband, devoted father, and ruthless killer. He is believed to have killed 100 people between 1964 and 1986.

The film is directed by Ariel Vroman and features a pretty awesome cast. Richard Kuklinski is played by Michael Shannon, and his wife Deborah is played by Winona Ryer. Other big names include Chris Evans (the creepy guy in the top right of the header photo), James Franco (Yum!_, David Schwimmer (Ross from Friends!). Ray Liotta (the guy from…all of the movies), and Stephen Dorff (also yum!).

Such a creepy story and I can’t believe this actually happened! The film doesn’t hit theaters until Spring 2013. Check out the trailer below.

Chris Evans Replaces James Franco

In: Donovan, Movies

How appropriate is this piece of casting news, considering my recent post pitting these two hotties against each other. As you know, I’m a huge Chris Evans fan so I’m excited to hear this latest development. According to Deadline, the “Captain America” star has signed on to appear in the upcoming crime thriller, “The Iceman”. Evans takes over the role of Robert Pronge which was originally assigned to James Franco. “The Pineapple Express” star left due to disagreements of “key contractual issues“. Hmmm, is Franco turning into a “divo”?

The Iceman” is based on the novel by Anthony Bruno titled “The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer“. It centers around Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski who was a family man by day but a notorious hitman by night. Kuklinski was responsible for more than 100 brutal murders. Evans’ character Pronge mentors Kuklinski in the early stages of his “career”.
