Tonight is the last day of 2012 and with 2013 only a matter of hours away, I thought it’d be fun to share world renowned mentalist, Sidney Friedman‘s predictions for 2013. Friedman apparently has a documented track record at 73% accuracy over 15 years of stating predictions on various mainstream shows like The View, The Today Show, and 20/20 among other shows in addition to his predictions printed in publications like Forbes magazine and the New York Post.

Friedman has a near perfect record of predicting Oscar winners and has only missed twice in that period. He also includes some economic forecasts as well as various other specific events. One that stood out to me was that a major discovery or major event will happen in regards to solar flares. This is actually in line with other people that have been predicting the same and I am not looking forward to that. A power outage that impacted six million people in Canada back in 1989 was caused by a strong solar flare in 1989 and the same type of solar storms are expected in 2013, according to The Examiner. Other unfavorable predictions involve a huge portion of the internet going dark for some time and a plague-like pandemic affects populations in Europe and to some extent in the USA – apparently this occurs in hospitals.

Not all the predictions are as scary as those few, but I wanted to highlight them as they really stood out to me. Check out the list of Friedman’s 23 predictions for 2013 below.

So I was recently encouraged by fellow cast member Patrick to write a Behind The Cast for myself. I never really thought of doing it because I didn’t feel like it went with Homorazzi but seeing as Patrick thought it would be a good idea, here I am! This is a coming out story of sorts (and here I was thinking I’d been there, done that). I recently started filling people in that I’m a psychic. I’ve been doing it for quite a while on a small scale for friends and family mostly but also through referrals. I came out in a big way just recently when I did a big post on my personal blog, Discovering Your Truth, about my psychic work. That post got the most hits my site has ever gotten in one single day so I knew something was about to change in my life. All of a sudden all of my friends and co-workers wanted to book sessions with me and I have been booked solid for the past few weeks. It’s crazy! I was so scared about being ridiculed or criticized by my friends and co-workers but it has been the complete opposite. I guess I should have learnt from my coming out that it would be a good thing (as my was very positive and supportive) but I still had that fear in me. Now talking about it on here is an even BIGGER step because I know what our numbers are for this site and trust me, they are A LOT bigger than my little personal blog. I know that I’m putting myself out there to be mocked and questioned and have my confidence shaken but after Patrick’s little message to me I took that as a sign to just get over my fears and do it.

To many of us are living our lives for other people or in fear of what other people will think about us. As gay men we already know what it’s like to be fearful of being “different” and many of us have already dealt with some of the harsh realities of coming out. I now realize that my playing small about who I am and what I can do was helping no one and as one of my life focuses is on helping others that wasn’t cutting the bread any more. I find that a lot of people are very complacent in their lives the way they are, they don’t want to “rock the boat” so to speak so they keep a lot of who they are on the inside. This goes for everyone out there. So many people are afraid of trying new things, saying what they really think, make a change in their life because they think the people closest to them will in some way make them feel bad about their choice. And you know what, I don’t blame them, you know why? Because so many of us reinforce this horrible habit of trying to knock other people down when they need us to life them up the most. Why is it that when someone achieves something great or has an awesome idea to do something there is always that people who tells them “Oh that’s great but I think you should play it safe and…” and it’s always because they “love” us.

This movie looks spooky! The trailer for an upcoming paranormal thriller called ‘Red Lights‘ has just been released and it looks intense! The premise of the film is that a psychologist named Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver), and her assistant (Cillian Murphy) study paranormal activity, and their work eventually leads them to a world-reknowned psychic (Robert De Niro). He’s bad news bears.

In the trailer, we hear Sigourney Weaver explain, “There are two kinds of people out there with a special gift. the ones who really think they have some kind of power, and the other guys who think we can’t figure them out. They’re both wrong.” It looks as though the more they learn about De Niro’s character, the more dangerous and out of hand things get.

Definitely looking forward to checking this one out. Oh, and also in the film is the star on the rise, Elizabeth Olsen. Check out the trailer below!

The Afterlife with Suzane Northrop

In: Patrick, TV Shows

Do you believe in the afterlife? Where do we go when we die? Can we communicate with the living? I consider myself a spiritual person and am definitely open to things that can really necessarily explained by science. If I believe that everything was explained by science, and there really wasn’t anything to look forward to after we die, then it’d be pretty miserable thinking of dying. Anyway, this a big topic, but really I just want to share with you an experience I had on a series called The Afterlife on OutTV a while back.

The Afterlife features world-renowned medium Suzane Northrop, joined by co-host David Millbern. Through Suzane’s unique abilities, she is able to communicate for those that can no longer speak for themselves and during the show, passes on messages from the beyond as she gets them, to eagerly awaiting loved ones in our studio audience. I was in the audience for their series premiere, coincidentally sitting next to Tym Roders (whom you may know as a totally ripped model…but I know him from when we went to high school together – he was a grade behind me in the small town of Terrace). Anyway, I was the first person Suzane had a message for…
