Ugh, there just aren’t enough hours in the day anymore. The few hours a week I allow myself to watch t.v. are filling up fast now that Mad Men, Project Runway, ANTM and other great shows are coming back for their fall season starts. At least True Blood is finished it’s second season. That will free up some time. So, my apologies for the lateness again.

Last week, the designers were put in teams. The tragic mess that is Mitchell was FINALLY sent home, and Ra’mon pulled out two winning looks all by himself. This week, we continue with the easy challenges. The designers have their models as their clients and have to make them a dress for an important industry function. Who will pull out all the stops? And who will be sent packing?

Heidi’s taking a little beauty nap. She’s exhausted from the long weekend, and so am I, hence the lateness for the recap.

Last weeks pregnancy challenge revealed a few more details about this seasons crop of designers. The weak stayed weak, some unexposed talents shined magnificently and all in all we saw some interesting designs.

This week’s episode was one for the history books, as we got the first team challenge of season six! The challenge for this week is to design an outfit in teams of two for beach wear. But that’s not all, as the competition heats up with the first real twist.

Team members will fight, feelings will be hurt, and ultimately another designer must go home.

Project Runway Season 6 Episode 2 Recap

Episode two wasn’t much of a change from last week. We have another celebrity judge, Mitchell can’t sew, and Marvin is weird and pretentious.

This weeks celebrity judge is formal model and current T.V. & movie star Rebecca Romijn (sans Stamos). Romijn is now married to fellow T.V. and movie star Jerry O’Connell and at the time of taping was pregnant with twins. Awwww.

And there’s the premise for this week’s challenge. Design a chic pregnancy look. They can design for any type of event. Unfortunately, no one chose to design for the actual birth and we got a bunch of lame dresses. I wonder if there’s any coincidence with the fact that the show moved to the Lifetime Network and that they’re doing a pregnancy challenge. Good thing they didn’t move to the Discovery Channel, or they might have had to make a dress for an elephant… On second thought, same thing really.

Project Runway Season 6 Episode 1 Recap

Oh Shit, here we go! Round 6 of my favorite unscripted television show. A new season of Project Runway isn’t just an event, it’s a reason to get out of bed in the morning!

Project runway has evolved over the years into one of the premiere reality competition based T.V. shows. I know to a lot of people that may not seem to be that much of a compliment considering the quality of most reality T.V. shows, but let’s not paint them all with the same brush.

The production values, editing, qualified guest and regular judges, and genuine talent on Project Runway all coalesce into one heck of a show.

The first episode of the new season aired on Thursday, and it was something.

Meet the Project Runway Designers

Following my initial Project Runway 6 post, here a bunch of teaser clips of all the designers from the new season. The designers are paired up into 8 different commercials. The music is a little dramatic, and it sounds a bit cheesy around the fifth or sixth time, but it’s nice to hear the designers talk about how they got into fashion.

My Name is Topher, and I’m a Project Runway watcher.

After what seems like decades of legal battles between the Bravo and Lifetime networks over who owns what, Project Runway will be back on the air August 20th for its sixth season. Not only is there a new network, but also a new city! Gone is the New York Parson’s school of design, and in comes the new studio in sunny Los Angeles.

Of all my T.V. guilty pleasures, PR takes the cake. I can’t get enough. The past five seasons have been so well produced, with some huge talents showing their garments at New York Fashion Week. Even the two seasons of the Canadian version have been top notch. From all the fashion inspired puns, to the back-stage cat-fights, Project Runway is reality T.V. at its best. Since the competition is based on clothing, there is a visual aspect that we the viewer can judge the contestants on. I hate shows like Top Chef, where you can only really cheer for a personality, since there’s no way for you to know if their food was any good or not.

The designers for season six have been announced. In just over a month, host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn, and returning judges American designer Michael Kors, and editor of Marie Clair Nina Garcia will be critiquing the latest garments on the catwalk. 16 hopefuls will compete to determine who will be the next great American designer [sic]. Well, to be the next winner of Project Runway anyway. Judging from some of their personal styling, we’re in for another Fabric-lous season.
