pitch perfect

Pitch Perfect defied all odds when it hit theaters in September 2012. Not only did it earn rave reviews, generate major box office revenue but it developed a cult loyal following. The sequel definitely has a lot to live up to when it hits theaters next year on May 15, 2015. Director Elizabeth Banks certainly feels the heat.

“It was pretty modest,” director Banks shared about the unexpected success of the first film to EW. “But it engendered a lot of love. That’s what we could not have foreseen. The first film flew under the radar, and it was a gift. This time around, much higher stakes. Everybody is much more involved. As the saying goes, ‘Success has many fathers.’”

Entertainment Weekly gives a sneak peek at the highly-anticipated film. Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick, wearing colorful frocks and boas, grace the publication’s latest cover. Head over to EW.com for more of a preview of Pitch Perfect 2.

Adam DeVine Returns For Pitch Perfect Sequel

In: Donovan, Movies

The ‘Treble Maker‘ is back

Up until now, it’s been a ladies affair when it came to casting news for the Pitch Perfect sequel. Finally, we get some testosterone. Adam DeVine who played Bumper Allen will reprise his role for Pitch Perfect 2. In the first film, he left his a cappella group right before the big competition to sing background vocals for John Mayer. I’m guessing that didn’t go too well.

The Barden Bellas are back in session. The majority of the Pitch Perfect cast reunited for a very special occasion- the first day of rehearsals for the upcoming sequel. Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean and Hana Mae Lee posed with Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks during a break from a cappella boot camp.

I’m curious why Anna Kendrick was nowhere to be seen. Fear not though, Kendrick is set to reprise the role of Beca. It was previously reported that she signed on to appear in the film. I also hope Anna Camp returns as Aubrey for the film. Mark your calendars, Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters on May 15, 2015! I can’t wait.

Brittany Snow Officially Signs On To Pitch Perfect 2

In: Donovan, Movies

Great news everyone. Another original Barden Bella has signed on to Pitch Perfect 2. Brittany Snow joins previously announced returnees Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick in the highly-anticipated sequel scheduled to hit theaters on May 15, 2015. Elizabeth Banks who played one of the ICCA commentators makes her directorial debut with the film. Here’s what she recently told Huffington Post about her upcoming gig.

“I’m really excited to direct the girls. The whole project speaks so much to me and to women and to making women funny in really fun and interesting ways and that’s what I’m most looking forward to. I’m looking forward to letting the girls let loose. All I can say right now is that they will be graduating seniors this time around, rather than incoming freshmen.” – Elizabeth Banks

I wonder who’ll be announced next. Care to make any predictions? Share them in the comments section. Relive Snow and Kendrick’s aca-awesome “Titanium” duet in the shower below.

I am in LOVE with Anna Kendrick. This woman is so talented. If you haven’t seen Pitch Perfect, then you’ve never seen the magic that is her rendition of the song, Cups (When I’m Gone). The song spent some time on Billboard’s Hot 100 when the film was released on DVD but now, it looks like Anna is gearing up to take over the radio game with a special radio remix which has surfaced online.

The song maintains it’s funky cup rhythm with the addition of some strumming guitars and some plunky xylophones in the chorus. According to a few sources the track is set to hit radio on March 26. Luckily, we can listen to a version of the single now. Do you think the song has what it takes to stake it’s claim in Top 40 radio? Listen to the track and sound off in the comments below.

One of my favorite movies of 2012 was most certainly Pitch Perfect, starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. The comedy had so many great lines and just as much great music that it was hard not to fall in love with it.

For a competition for Virgin Radio that is going on here in Vancouver, Homorazzi’s friends Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy submitted a video with their take on a 60-second version of the film. The video even stars Homorazzi’s Nic as the love interest, along with several other familiar faces from Ryan Steele’s hilarious YouTube videos.

‘The Philosophers’ Debuts Epic New Movie Trailer

In: Calan, Movies

Hot off the heels of my interview with the lovely and talented Katie Findlay from The Carrie Diaries comes the movie trailer for “The Philosophers.” Katie mentioned the movie in our interview together and now that I’ve seen the trailer for it I’m waiting with bated breathe until it’s release. As for a release date I couldn’t track down any solid day other that hopefully soon in 2013.

The film boasts quite the array of actors. Along side Katie we have James D’Arcy (Cloud Atlas, Hitchcock), Daryl Sabara who you might recognize as Juni from the Spy Kids movies, George Blagden from the recent big screen adaptation of Les Misérables, Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) as well as Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) who is also know as the drool worthy radio DJ Luke from Pitch Perfect, and Jacob Artist (the devilishly good looking Jake Puckerman on Glee).

Find out what the film is about and check out the newly released trailer below.

Synopsis & trailer after the jump…

Ester Dean is blowing up. Her name may not be the most familiar in the spotlight but behind-the-scenes, she is one of the music industry’s top song writers. Having written some of the biggest smash hits for the likes of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé and Keri Hilson just to name a few. This past month, she made her feature live film debut in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect. So, has Ester caught the acting bug?

“I have caught that bug and I want to venture into anything and everything creative about acting,” Ester tells me in our exclusive chat. “I’d like to become the Will Smith of movies.” When talking about the Pitch Perfect experience itself, she shares, “it was a very new experience and I learned a lot. It was trying because it came at a time that I was also writing songs and going off to venture into new areas. So it was a little scary but it all worked out in the end.” It’s great to see Ester finally take her step into the spotlight, especially from an Oklahoma native who wanted to be a chef.
