I am in LOVE with Anna Kendrick. This woman is so talented. If you haven’t seen Pitch Perfect, then you’ve never seen the magic that is her rendition of the song, Cups (When I’m Gone). The song spent some time on Billboard’s Hot 100 when the film was released on DVD but now, it looks like Anna is gearing up to take over the radio game with a special radio remix which has surfaced online.
The song maintains it’s funky cup rhythm with the addition of some strumming guitars and some plunky xylophones in the chorus. According to a few sources the track is set to hit radio on March 26. Luckily, we can listen to a version of the single now. Do you think the song has what it takes to stake it’s claim in Top 40 radio? Listen to the track and sound off in the comments below.

One of my favorite movies of 2012 was most certainly Pitch Perfect, starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. The comedy had so many great lines and just as much great music that it was hard not to fall in love with it.
For a competition for Virgin Radio that is going on here in Vancouver, Homorazzi’s friends Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy submitted a video with their take on a 60-second version of the film. The video even stars Homorazzi’s Nic as the love interest, along with several other familiar faces from Ryan Steele’s hilarious YouTube videos.
Watch the video below and vote for them via the link provided underneath to help support this crazy funny and hard-working comedy duo so they have a chance of winning the $10,000 grand prize!
Hot off the heels of my interview with the lovely and talented Katie Findlay from The Carrie Diaries comes the movie trailer for “The Philosophers.” Katie mentioned the movie in our interview together and now that I’ve seen the trailer for it I’m waiting with bated breathe until it’s release. As for a release date I couldn’t track down any solid day other that hopefully soon in 2013.
The film boasts quite the array of actors. Along side Katie we have James D’Arcy (Cloud Atlas, Hitchcock), Daryl Sabara who you might recognize as Juni from the Spy Kids movies, George Blagden from the recent big screen adaptation of Les Misérables, Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) as well as Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) who is also know as the drool worthy radio DJ Luke from Pitch Perfect, and Jacob Artist (the devilishly good looking Jake Puckerman on Glee).
Find out what the film is about and check out the newly released trailer below.

Ester Dean is blowing up. Her name may not be the most familiar in the spotlight but behind-the-scenes, she is one of the music industry’s top song writers. Having written some of the biggest smash hits for the likes of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé and Keri Hilson just to name a few. This past month, she made her feature live film debut in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect. So, has Ester caught the acting bug?
“I have caught that bug and I want to venture into anything and everything creative about acting,” Ester tells me in our exclusive chat. “I’d like to become the Will Smith of movies.” When talking about the Pitch Perfect experience itself, she shares, “it was a very new experience and I learned a lot. It was trying because it came at a time that I was also writing songs and going off to venture into new areas. So it was a little scary but it all worked out in the end.” It’s great to see Ester finally take her step into the spotlight, especially from an Oklahoma native who wanted to be a chef.

I don’t know if I could possibly love Rebel Wilson any more than I do. Seriously, I start laughing as soon as she opens her mouth. In the following two videos, she and her Pitch Perfect co-star, Anna Kendrick interview each other for Cinemax’s Max 60 Seconds segment. The result is pure hilarity.
From divulging secrets from the set of filming the movie to things we don’t know about their personal lives (like Anna Kendrick stocking up on gin every morning or Rebel Wilson get her accessories custom made from people in jail. I love these Max 60 Seconds interviews as co-stars ask questions or give responses that will make the other person crack up. So much fun.
Pitch Perfect comes out in two days on October 5. In the meantime, check out these two hilarious interviews for some hump-day hilarity!

Fall is usually a time for movie studios to release serious films vying for Oscar glory. Thankfully for those looking for something less cerebral and pure escapism, there’s still lighthearted fare hitting theaters soon. One of those said films is Pitch Perfect. The second I saw the trailer, I had to see it, as well as a few of the writers on the site. I’m debating on whether to organize a Hunger Games-type battle to see who gets the screening passes ;)
Universal Pictures was generous enough to give fans a listen to the film’s entire soundtrack. Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and company sound fantastic in all the a cappella numbers. From Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone“, Bruno Mars’ “The Way You Are“, to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA“, the cast deliver, excuse the pun, pitch perfect performances. Who will reign supreme at the competition? The all-girl Bellas or their male counterparts, The Treblemakers? Listen to the tracks below and judge for yourself.

I was already looking forward to watching Pitch Perfect, but after checking out this wicked a capella cover, I’m even more stoked. The cast of the upcoming film including Anna Kendrick (Twilight) and Brittany Snow (American Dreams) perform a pitch perfect (pun intended) version of Nicki Minaj’s summer hit “Starships“. They definitely worked it out.
With the help of YouTube sensation Mike Tompkins, the cast’s vocals are mixed with numerous other renditions from other YouTube users. The only thing missing from the clip is the appearance of Rebel Wilson. I’m curious to know why the hilarious actress wasn’t involved in the cover, given that most of her co-stars pop up in the video. Pitch Perfect hits select cities on September 28, and will be playing nationwide on October 5.

This movie trailer just made my day and I’m going to bet that this is going to be one of the funniest movies of the year. It’s like an edgier, funnier ‘Glee‘ with the comedic caliber of ‘Bridesmaids‘ and the cattiness of ‘Mean Girls‘. Get ready for ‘Pitch Perfect‘!
The premise of the comedy is set in the middle of a war between rival a cappella groups and centered on a rebellious girl who joins one of the groups as an escape from her unhappy life at school. You can see where the ‘Glee’ aspect plays in, but it’s a whole lot more fun than that. I literally laughed so loud at a few parts, namely the parts with “Fat Amy,” played by the hilarious Rebel Wilson whom you’ll remember from ‘Bridesmaids’. The film also stars Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow among many others.
Seriously, I think this might be the Bridesmaids of this year. Watch the trailer and you’ll see what I mean. The film hits theatres on October 5. Get “Pitch Slapped” below!
