At long last, we finally have our first major awards show of what promises to be a lengthy season. The 2013 People’s Choice Awards were handed out last night and as always it was pretty easy to predict. If you saw someone in the audience, chances were they were solely there to pick up their trophy. Why else would they show up, right? The Golden Globes are just a few days away.
While The Hunger Games‘ Jennifer Lawrence, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift cleaned up with regards to hardware (click here for the full list of winners), each lady placed in different categories on my fashion round-up of the 2013 PCAs. Can you figure out which one landed on my Best Dressed, Worst Dressed and On The Fence list? Keep reading below to see if you figured out my fashion tastes, along with my respective picks in each category. Be sure to leave your comments at the end of the post for your choices for who rocked it out on the red carpet and who bombed. Fashion is highly subjective after all.
The 2013 People’s Choice Award Nominations have been revealed with Sexiest Man Alive Channing Tatum, Adam Levine, Justin Bieber leading the pack.
Of course there are certain categories that have all the usual suspects, but there are also some that I have no idea which way they will go. There have been so many great new TV shows this year for example, that I don’t know which ones will walk away winners on that night. Another interesting category is the “Favorite Celebrity Judge” which pits Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, and Adam Levine against each other. I don’t follow the voice, but if I had to pick one based on what I’ve seen, I’d actually pick Demi Lovato (on the days she doesn’t decide to have those jumbo eyebrows – LOL).
The awards show will be hosted by Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory and will air live on CBS on Wednesday, January 9. Check out the nominees below!
Last night, CBS housed the People’s Choice Awards hosted by Kaley Cuoco of the networks hit comedy, The Big Bang Theory. The show opened with a hilarious concept of Kaley playing her character from the show as her and the rest of cast got ready to watch the show and cast their votes for the nominees. Suddenly, her agent calls her to attend the show as a seat filler but once she gets there, switches gears and begins to the host the show. While going through her opening monologue, she’s interrupted by Neil Patrick Harris who is sitting in the audience and wearing a mic. Not today NPH, not today.
The show moved along surprisingly quick with only two musical acts throughout the show. The first came courtesy of comeback kid, Demi Lovato who rocked it out in a red dress. The second performance was from Faith Hill who did her country rendition of OneRepublic’s Come Home.
The show also scored a few highlights including a great kiss shared between Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka when Neil won for favorite TV comedy actor. Another slam dunk was Jane Lynch’s portrayal of the show’s seat coordinator. Interviewed by ET’s Mark Stenis, she showed the audience just how she “decides” where celebrities sit. The cast of Pretty Little Liars presented a few categories themselves and the biggest miss of the night goes the horrible CVS Pharmacy product placement stint which went on for far too long. Check out the full winner’s circle and some of my favorite moments in video form below.
It’s the time of year again to vote for your favorite artists, albums, TV shows and more. The categories for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards have landed and at no surprise to many, Katy Perry is leading the way with six nominations to her name. Lady Gaga and Beyoncé aren’t far behind but it doesn’t mean anything unless fans vote their favorites into the Top 5.
This year, the show has introduced a few new categories including Favorite Album of the Year and Favorite Tour Headliner. The show doesn’t air on CBS until January 11th, 2012 but you can already start casting your votes. Check out a few of the categories below and then head to the official site to vote now.
Last night, Hollywood said thank you to the fans who voted a record breaking 175 million times for all of their favorites. That’s right, the People’s Choice Awards kicked off award show season with a bang on CBS. Hosted by Queen Latifah she started the show off with a random, irrelevant song and dance number which really confused me. It wasn’t an original song, nor a parody. Just Queen Latifah doing a terrible cover of the year’s hit song, Dynamite by Taio Cruz. The dancers on stage were good but her opening really served no purpose.
Besides our host, the stars really turned it out for a night on the town. The gowns from the ladies were extraordinary and the men looked dapper in their suits and ties. New dads Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka sat in the front row along with the Kardashians, Hellcats co-stars Aly Michalka & Ashley Tisdale and straight off the plane to the red carpet were the famous trio from the Twilight series.
Voting had closed before the new year except for two categories: Favorite New TV Drama and Favorite New TV Comedy. We were also treated to a few performances in the evening. Selena Gomez & The Scene who were voted best breakout artist this year performed their hit A Year Without Rain and hip hop/rock/country superstar Kid Rock also knocked out a stellar performance. But most importantly… WHO WON?
The People’s Choice Awards 2011 nominees were announced today, covering everything from your favorite TV show, actor and guest star to your your favorite new artist, viral video, or TV guilty pleasure. With over 40 categories, I decided to narrow down a list of some of the categories you’d be most interested in (or let’s be real here…the ones I was most interested in) so you can vote on who you think should win.
This is the 37th Annual PCA, and the nominees will take the stage on January 5th, 2011. Who do you think should win in some of the key categories? Go through the list below and vote for your favorites!
Considering the only movie above that I’ve seen is Alice In Wonderland, I’d vote for that but my gut tells me that either Toy Story 3 or Twilight will take this one. I was going to rent Toy Story 3 the other day, but instead got Titanic 2, which turned out to be one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. In my defense, I also finally watched The Hangover which was a riot.
