First Furious 7 Movie Trailer Debuts

In: Donovan, Movies

Very few movie franchises reach their seventh installment. Especially outside the horror genre. The Fast & The Furious has achieved longevity by giving its fans more insane over-the-top car stunts with each film. In the words of actress Michelle Rodriguez, the latest flick can be described as “cargasm.”

Based on the trailer, I tend to agree with her. The first few seconds features a highway car pursuit, vehicles parachuting out of a plane and Paul Walker doing the most ridiculously improbable air-defying stunt.

The first Furious 7 trailer debuted at a special premiere event this weekend which was attended by the film’s stars, including Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Rodriguez. Diesel’s character faces off against Statham who’s avenging his brother’s death.

Saw director James Wan directs the film which features cameos from Iggy Azalea and Kurt Russell. Furious 7 races into theaters in April 2015. Check out the trailer below.

It must be a rite of passage for hunky male actors in Hollywood to star in at least one Nicholas Sparks movie. James Marsden follows in the footsteps of Josh Duhamel, Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Zac Efron and Liam Hemsworth to name a few. Paul Walker was set to join that illustrious group but tragically passed away. Enter Marsden.

Like many of Sparks’ tearjerkers, this one incorporates plenty of flashbacks. Playing the younger Marsden is Luke Bracey. Starring as his highschool sweetheart are Michelle Monaghan and Liana Liberato as the elder and younger versions respectively. The Best of Me hits theater on October 17. Check out the trailer below.

Official Synopsis

Based on the bestselling novel by acclaimed author Nicholas Sparks, The Best of Me tells the story of Dawson and Amanda, two former high school sweethearts who find themselves reunited after 20 years apart, when they return to their small town for the funeral of a beloved friend. Their bittersweet reunion reignites the love they’ve never forgotten, but soon they discover the forces that drove them apart twenty years ago live on, posing even more serious threats today. Spanning decades, this epic love story captures the enduring power of our first true love, and the wrenching choices we face when confronted with elusive second chances.

Footage From Paul Walker’s Final Film Is Released

At the time of his death, Paul Walker was in the midst of filming Fast and Furious 7. This created quite a dilemma for the movie studio and producers. After carefully weighing out all options, the cast and crew decided to forge ahead and complete Walker’s last film to honor him. The 40-year-old actor did however have another unreleased film under his belt. Footage from Walker’s completed flick surfaced on Tuesday via Entertainment Tonight.

Brick Mansions, co-written by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element), is a remake of the 2004 French film District 13. Walker plays Damien Collier, an undercover cop trying to stop a drug lord in Detroit. He teams up with regular guy Lino (David Belle), whose girlfriend has been kidnapped by the drug kingpin that Collier has been tracking. The Camille Delamarre-directed film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 28, 2014. Check out the first look at the movie below.

most-charitable-celebrity-2013

DoSomething.org just released their annual Top 20 list of “Celebs Gone Good” and once again Taylor Swift is apparently the most giving celebrity in Hollywood. She topped last year’s list with her record $4 million donation to the Country Hall of Fame Museum- the largest sum ever given to the country organization. This year, the nonprofit cites Swift’s recent Winter White Gala in London, a benefit for homeless youth, a $100,000 donation to the Nashville Symphony which she gave on her 24th birthday as some of her do-gooding work. Not to discredit Taylor’s goodwill, but once again I’m surprised she’s the numero uno charitable celebrity out there. Right?

With their volunteer work in Ghana for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day and donation to cancer research, the boys of One Direction also made the list this year. Chime for Change and Goodwill activist Beyoncé, Reach Out Worldwide founder Paul Walker, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis round out the Top 5.

The most surprising thing about this year’s list is the absence of some individuals who made the Top 5 last year but are nowhere to be found in the Top 20. Channing Tatum and Lady Gaga, according to DoSomething.org, aren’t as charitable this year. I’m really curious to know how the nonprofit tabulates their results. Check out the rest of the list below.

The show must go on as they say in Hollywood. After Paul Walker’s shocking death, Universal Pictures put production of Fast and Furious 7 on hold. On Sunday, Vin Diesel revealed the film will hit theaters on April 10, 2015. The 46-year-old actor also shared the above movie still, documenting his last filmed scene with Walker with the following caption.

“There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…

forbes-top-grossing-actors-2013

Iron Man 3 is the highest-grossing movie so far in 2013 with $1.2 billion in worldwide ticket sales. With those kind of receipts, one would think it’s star Robert Downey, Jr. would easily take the crown on Forbes Highest-Grossing list. It’s only a natural conclusion. Unfortunately for him, Robert only starred in one film the entire year. Sneaking past him to steal the title was someone who starred in four films. Here’s a little hint. It’s someone from the Fast and The Furious franchise.

Before we get to the winner, I just wanted to commend both Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lawrence for breaking into the male-dominated Top 10. Bullock knocked out the competition with her one-two punch of Gravity and The Heat, while Lawrence hit the bullseye with Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Check out the Top 10 below. In addition to the top slot, there are a couple of other surprises. At least for me, there was.
