From the Academy Award-winning director responsible for Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, Wall Street and JFK comes another dramatic thriller tackling a touchy subject- controversial figure Edward Snowden. Based on the first look, Oliver Stone appears to have another winner on his hands.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the former Central Intelligence Agency employee who copied and leaked classified information from the National Security Agency and subsequently disclosed his findings. He’s been called a hero, a whistleblower, a dissident, a patriot, and a traitor to name a few. Snowden currently has asylum in Russia, living in an undisclosed location.

Snowden Movie Synopsis

Snowden, the politically-charged, pulse-pounding thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley, reveals the incredible untold personal story of Edward Snowden, the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world. He is considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others. No matter which you believe, the epic story of why he did it, who he left behind, and how he pulled it off makes for one of the most compelling films of the year.

Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Rhys Ifans, Nicolas Cage, Scott Eastwood, Timothy Olyphant and Tom Wilkinson round out the cast. Snowden infiltrates theaters on September 16. Check out the exciting first trailer below.

Pay The Ghost is an upcoming horror flick that explores the connection between our world and the supernatural one. Scary movies aren’t normally my thing but this one has my interest piqued after watching the trailer.

During a Halloween parade, Nicholas Cage experiences a horrible tragedy. His son Charlie suddenly and mysteriously disappears from his side. He eventually discovers Charlie has been taken away by evil spirits to another realm. Cage reunites with his estranged wife played by Sarah Wayne Callies to desperately search for their missing child.

Pay the Ghost scares moviegoers on September 23. Check out the trailer below.

Forbes Reveal Top 10 Most Overpaid Movie Stars

In: Donovan, Movies

There used to be a time when Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler could do no wrong at the box office. No matter what vehicle they starred in, it would undoubtedly become a bona fide blockbuster. But as they say, nothing lasts forever. The two veteran comedy actors find themselves on a list that no Hollywood actor wants to be on. To quote one of Murphy’s movies, I’m sure he wants to be Trading Places with anyone else right now.

Also landing on the list are one-time rom-com queens Katherine Heigl and Sandra Bullock. All it takes is one box office bomb to bring down their dollar return average. Each lady had exactly that with One For The Money and All About Steve respectively. You can also add Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close to Bullock’s less-than-stellar grosses. Find out below who ranks No. 1 on the list with a return of $2.30 for every dollar they were paid.

Yesterday, a trailer surfaced for a new film titled The Frozen Ground. I had heard a little bit already about this film after seeing star Vanessa Hudgens post a few pics online while filming in Alaska. Now, we are able to get a first glimpse at the film which showcases Hudgens in a quite a provocative role- something we’re not quite used to seeing from the former Disney star. Donning lingerie and a shorter do, Vanessa takes on the role of stripper Cindy Paulson who becomes the target of a crazed sex killer.

Enter John Cusack who plays the family man (Robert Hansen) with a 13-year-old dark secret. After killing multiple women, Sergeant Jack Halcombe played by Nicolas Cage is on the case trying to figure the man behind these brutal murders. After a closer encounter Robert, Jack soon learns that he may have become Hansen’s latest target. To up the ante, the film is even based on true events. The film also stars 50 Cent. I think the trailer is a definite leak as the clips don’t really mesh well together and is even missing the film company’s logo at the beginning. However, it definitely gives a great glimpse of what we can expect from the feature. Check it out below.

The movie trailer for this new action/thriller film called “Justice” has just been released with the film opening in theatres in the U.K. on November 18th. After watching the trailer, I definitely want to watch it but I should note that as of now, there is no North American release date set.

Here’s what it’s about: Nicolas Cage plays a high school teacher named Will Gerard – happy with his life and looking forward to spending the rest of his life with his love Laura, played by January Jones (Mad Men). When Laura is attacked and left hospitalized, Will meets a mysterious man (Guy Pearce) that offers to help him get revenge on the person that did this to Laura. Emotionally distraught and not sure what to think, he accepts the offer. The guy tells him that the only thing is that at some point they may ask a favor of him. Little did Will know that the justice he sought for Laura came at a very high price and his world was about to turn upside down.

In a nutshell, the film puts to the test how far a man will go to seek his vengeance. Check out the trailer below.

I love a good thriller…and Cam Gigandet shirtless (playing a bad guy) isn’t a bad thing either! The trailer for “Trespass” has just been released, starring Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage as a wealthy couple that are held for ransom in their own home. As the situation unfolds, there is discovery of betrayal and deception, but the two must find their inner strength if they’re going to survive the masked criminals that have invaded their home.

Directed by Joel Schumacher with a budget of $35 million, I think the movie looks really good – especially, if you’re into thrillers (which I am). I get the same vibe as “Glass House” or “Panic Room” in terms of an “inside the house” thriller that isn’t a horror, yet keeps you on the edge of your seat. The film gets a limited release in the Netherlands on September 1, 2011 and in the United States on October 14, 2011.

My Top 10 Favorite Celebrity Mugshots

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Tyrell

I haven’t done a Top 10 list in a long time so I thought it would be fun to make one to enjoy this weekend. However, I didn’t want to make it about music, or movies or TV. So with all of that content removed what in the world would I list? Celebrity Mugshots that’s what. With the amazing amount of hilarious photos and situations out there, I couldn’t help but find my ten favorite for various reasons and share them with you.

Charlie Sheen has been in the public multiple times this year with his departure from Two & A Half Men but if you take it back to 2009, you’ll remember that Sheen was arrested for domestic violence. He allegedly tried to choke wife at the time Broke Mueller who was renting an Aspen home. I love this mugshot because Charlie still shows his smug attitude in it despite his situation and being arrested. Must be the Tigerblood.

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Patrick

Last night, Nicolas Cage was arrested for domestic abuse in New Orleans, following a very loud argument with his wife, Alice Kim. According to TMZ, a cab driver pulled over and saw Cage (who was very drunk) yelling at his wife and also saw him push her. The cab driver then called the police to intervene.

When the cops arrived, Cage essentially dared them to arrest him. They police kept telling him that he and his wife should just go home, but he kept insisting, “Why don’t you just arrest me?” So they did. The booked him and he’s been charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.

His wife isn’t a complaining witness and doesn’t want him charge, saying that there was no physical contact. At this point, the bond has been set for $11,000.
