Just like my 2012 Model Behavior Showdown, the annual Man Crush Showdown is also off to a resounding success. Almost 20,000 votes were cast in Round 1. Unlike the first round of the Model Behavior showdown, the gap between the Top 3 here was more than five votes. There was a clear winner.
Coming in first place was actor Brandon Quinn with 5,001 votes. To be perfectly honest, I was a little surprised. Though sexy in that rough kind of way, I didn’t think he’d win Round 1. The other person to earn an automatic berth in the Final Round is Mario Casas (4,446 Votes). Props to our readers for advancing such a tasty foreign dish. Just missing out in third place is Aussie hunk, Dan Ewing with 3,743 votes. I’m sure with that total, he’ll earn one of the four wild card slots for the finals.
With Round 1 in the history books, it’s time to shift focus to Round 2. Check out this crop of my previous weekly Man Crushes. If you want more pictures of each stud, click on their name for their feature.

I. Love. This. Video. It’s so cute! We already know that Cheyenne Jackson is a major heartthrob, but seeing him dancing around and flirt with all the boys takes it to another level. Earlier this month, Jackson teased us with
just the tip a clip of his music video for “Don’t Wanna Know.” Now, we’re all the way in with the full version (Get your mind out of the gutter, Patrick).
From the mailman to construction workers to a police officer, he’s got everyone’s attention after getting his heart broken by his ex-boyfriend in the video. In the song, Jackson sings, “I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know / If you slept in your bed for a week / No, I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know / When the scent on your neck isn’t me / It’s not fair / Why should I care / Cuz I made it clear that you’re not what I need.”
It’s such a fun video and the song is catchy too. The video features many familiar Broadway stars, including Nick Adams (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) as the police officer and Matt Cavenaugh (Grey Gardens) as his Jackson’s ex-boyfriend. The ending is kinda sad though – wah, wah. Enjoy!
Since it’s New York Pride this weekend, I thought I’d choose a hot Broadway actor as this week’s Man Crush. Having just spent a few days there last week with Brian and Nic, choosing the right hottie was an easy choice. On one of our nights there, we decided to check out “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert“. While the London West End production was better, IMHO, there were a few things I liked better in the Broadway version. Most notably, Nick Adams‘ performance as Adam/Felicia. It was amazeballs. The fact he has a smoking body didn’t hurt either.
Adams was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music where he earned a BFA in musical theater and minored in dance. A few highlights of his Broadway career include being part of the original cast of “The Pirate Queen” and co-starring in the Broadway revivals of “A Chorus Line” and “Guys and Dolls“. Nick also played one of the Cagelles in “La Cage Aux Folles” with Kelsey Grammer (Frasier).
His biggest gig to date was landing one of the leads in the Broadway production of “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”. Sadly, the musical is ending its run on June 24, 2012. BOO. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out. Luckily, I hear a touring version will be launched in 2013. Be sure to check it out when it hits your neck of the woods. The 29-year-old actor/dancer has also appeared on television in “As The World Turns“, “Guiding Light” and “Dancing With The Stars“. Once you check out his rock hard body, you won’t be surprised to know he’s modeled underwear for 2(x)ist as well. Check out his body
of work below.
For the second year in a row, OUT placed a list of 100 most eligible gay bachelors before its readers and asked them to vote for which one of them they would prefer to date. The list drummed up a bit of controversy and few Twitter campaigns to have their favorites win. However, Chris Colfer reigned supreme as the top gay bachelor. Many readers had great things to say about the Glee actor including this mother:
“As the mom of a gay teen who looks up to Chris Colfer as a role model, I can’t express enough how thankful I am for him. I would love to have a son-in-law of his caliber someday, to match with my equally amazing son. Chris is number one in our home, and we look forward to following his career.”
Even though the list of one hundred men contained billionaires, fashion moguls and more, TV actors claimed five of the top ten spots. You can check out the top ten list below and then vote for which of them you’d rather date.
