When they were BFFs, NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak provided some of the most hilarious moments on the first few seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Their fights were equally as riveting and epic. There was a moment in time when the two couldn’t even be in the same room together. However, the two buried the hatchet a couple of seasons ago.
Personally, I believe Leakes was open to reconciling once she started to achieve success outside the Housewives franchise. I like NeNe but she doesn’t do well when others do better than her. Now that she sorta has the upper hand with Kim and is enemy No. 1 on RHOA, I can see why she agreed to this.
Bravo announced a new spinoff titled NeNe and Kim: The Road to Riches which follows the ladies driving from ATL to LAX. Hopefully, this ends up better than their last road trip. Remember when the two almost came to physical blows on a bus headed to Miami?
“Atlanta’s ‘most driven’ housewives…drive out of their comfort zones and across the country to discover America on a one-of-a-kind adventure,” the network said in a statement. “The road to LA may be paved with good intentions, but that doesn’t mean they won’t occasionally drive each other crazy.”
The network also revealed other programs coming in the future. Find out what new and returning shows are on deck.
If you’re an avid watcher of Bravo’s Housewives franchise, this bit of news might be a bit shocking. Other than Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin rekindling their friendship, this duo’s reunion is the one least expected by everyone. After five seasons of back and forth declarations of love and biting insults, NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak seem to have buried the hatchet. Question is… for how long.
In Touch reports that the long-time frenemies made peace at the recently-taped Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 5 reunion. Since then, the two had a heart to heart conversation and reached peace. Leakes even invited Zolciak to her upcoming wedding. SAY WHAT? I’m truly in shock. The skeptic in me wonders what’s the motivation behind this.
Last year Snoop Dogg, Jenny McCarthy, Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Daughtry and Heidi Klum showed off their wheel spinning prowess on the first annual Price Is Right celebrity week. Clearly, last year was a ratings hit because the veteran game show is doing it again for February sweeps. “Skyscraper” singer Demi Lovato was one of the celebrities asked to “come on down” for the second annual event airing Monday, February 18 to Friday, February 22.
Like last year, the stars will play alongside regular contestants, helping them as they try to reach the Showcase Showdown. Each star also gets to walk in the shoes of a Price is Right model. They’ll get to present unique showcases featuring their personal favorite prizes. The celebrities will also spin the famous big wheel, and play six of the CBS’ show’s most popular games. Reportedly, this year’s group raised more than $250,000 for their various charities. One of them even broke Snoop Dogg’s record of $72,585 which he raised for the Snoop Youth Football League last year. Find out this year’s participants along with their respective charities below.
For being a lesbian, Ellen DeGeneres sure does love her male strippers. Last year, she surprised newly-engaged Miley Cyrus with an impromptu lap dance by two buff shirtless men. The talk show host must’ve purchased a Groupon for Chippendales or something, because she brought more exotic dancers to her show. This time, they were there to work over NeNe Leakes who’s remarrying her ex-husband Gregg.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta reality star certainly has come a long way. Just a few years ago, she was drunk in a limo mocking Kim Zolciak’s “Tardy For The Party.” Now, she’s successfully transitioned to legit Hollywood actress, appearing in both The New Normal and Glee. Even though she’s legit, she still finds time to slum it with the crazy ATL women for Andy Cohen. Must be that huge pay check she gets.
Reportedly, she’s the highest-paid Housewife on Bravo’s payroll. Hope she brought some Benjamin Franklins with her to stuff the pants of the quartet of hot guys writhing up on her. I’m sure she wouldn’t have appreciated guys making it rain with just dollar bills at the club during her stripper days. Check out Ellen’s surprise bachelorette party for everyone’s favorite sassy Housewife below. One the guys really gets into it. He’s popping his donkey booty every which way.
The list just keeps growing for this year’s Divas Live concert. It’s kinda turning into a bit of a gong show at this point. First, Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks were revealed as this year’s crop of Divas. American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert was given the responsibility of being the master of ceremonies. A few weeks later, Kelly Clarkson, Melanie Fiona, Metric, Havana Brown and Pitbull were added to the roster of talent. Now, we have another handful of performers on deck to pay homage to the greatest divas of dance music.
Before I reveal who the latest additions are, I wanted to quickly share who the network have enlisted to make an appearance at the event. La La Anthony, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Stacey Kiebler and Kelly Osbourne will have the difficult task of introducing the acts. Also on tap is the wonderfully sassy Miss NeNe Leakes. She definitely has come a long way since her signature, “close your legs to married men,” catchphrase. Also on deck as a presenter is Brandy Norwood. To be perfectly honest, I’m surprised she isn’t performing. After all, she did headline the second edition of the VH1 Divas franchise.
The Gap unveiled it’s 2012 Holiday Global Ad Campaign a few days ago, but just in case you haven’t seen it, here you go. I can’t even recall the last time I stepped into a Gap store. Probably, when the company had the best commercials around? Remember their “Khaki Swing” and “Mellow Yellow” ads. While not on the same level as their ads in their hey day, the recently debuted one is pretty dang adorable. “Love Comes In Every Shade” highlights various kinds of love from familial to love for pets, and everything in between.
“This campaign features some well-known actors, musicians and their loved ones, all wearing clothes from our new holiday collection,” said Seth Farbman, Gap’s Global Chief Marketing Officer. “Their personal relationships help remind us that every family is unique and often goes beyond just those we’re related to—it also includes the people we share our lives and deepest passions with. This campaign celebrates these diverse, optimistic views on family and the many forms love can take.”
Some of the celebrities enlisted include the cast of NBC’s new sitcom The New Normal displaying ‘Modern Love‘. A few of my other favorites include Rufus Wainwright posing with his husband for ‘Newlywed Love‘, Jack Huston with his dog Orso representing ‘Puppy Love‘ and rapper Nas with his dad showing ‘Fatherly Love‘. Check out all of The Gap’s shades of love below.
Weeks ago, Bravo released The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 3 super trailer, but only gave a 30-second clip for the Atlanta Housewives. Finally, the network unleashed the three minute long video just a few days ago. Just in case you missed it, here it is. I wonder what the holdup was. Did ousted Housewife Sheree Whitfield sabotage it, thereby delaying the release? I wouldn’t put it pass that crazy vindictive beyotch.
For those worried that Kim Zolciak was getting the boot like Sheree because she wasn’t in the official cast photos, fear not. The wig-wearing blond baby machine is heavily featured in the new super trailer. She, along with her hubby Troy, are getting evicted from their Atlanta mansion. But the most shocking development with her this season seems to be a peace treaty with NeNe Leakes and a tiff with Kandi. I love these ever-changing alliances.
With Whitfield out and Zolciak in limited capacity due to her pregnancy, two new Housewives were added to the mix. Former Miss USA Kenya Moore and NFL wife Porsha Stewart promise to bring a whole lot of drama, especially Moore. Word has it, the beauty queen is in the middle of every fight and stirs up a lot of shizz. She even tries macking on one of her co-stars’ hubby. Not cool.
With NeNe now a legit Hollywood actress, she seems to have toned down her reality persona. She’s often seen playing peacemaker and taking the high road. BOO. Meanwhile Kandi Burruss finds love and Phaedra Parks expands her funeral business to include animals. LOL. That woman cracks me up. Check out the trailer below.
The New Normal doesn’t make its official debut until September 11, but you can watch the pilot episode now. NBC wisely offered up Ryan Murphy’s new comedy a couple of weeks early to combat press the show has been receiving from anti-gay groups, including being banned from an NBC Utah affiliate. Making a new show available before it airs on television has worked in the past to generate buzz, especially if it’s well-written.
It’s hard to judge a show based only one episode, but I have to say the comedy certainly has potential. The chemistry among the cast is natural and engaging. Mark my words, Ellen Barkin’s conservative granny role is the NEW Sue Sylvester. Her one-liners had me in stitches, especially the ones directed towards an Asian chick who received digs about Hello Kitty, railroad building and tech savviness. Equally as hilarious was Atlanta Housewife NeNe Leakes. I could watch an entire hour of Leakes and Barkin going tête-à-tête with their biting words.
‘Abnormal is the new normal‘, claims Andrew Rannelis‘ character on the show. I certainly hope so. The show definitely deserves a watch, particularly if you’re a Ryan Murphy fan. It’s everything you’ve come to expect and love from him. There are a couple of notable cameos in the pilot from actresses who’ve appeared in Murphy’s other shows. Leslie Grossman (Popular) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Glee) both are surrogate candidates being considered by Rannelis and Justin Bartha (so cute). Check out the pilot episode below.
