The Gap unveiled it’s 2012 Holiday Global Ad Campaign a few days ago, but just in case you haven’t seen it, here you go. I can’t even recall the last time I stepped into a Gap store. Probably, when the company had the best commercials around? Remember their “Khaki Swing” and “Mellow Yellow” ads. While not on the same level as their ads in their hey day, the recently debuted one is pretty dang adorable. “Love Comes In Every Shade” highlights various kinds of love from familial to love for pets, and everything in between.
“This campaign features some well-known actors, musicians and their loved ones, all wearing clothes from our new holiday collection,” said Seth Farbman, Gap’s Global Chief Marketing Officer. “Their personal relationships help remind us that every family is unique and often goes beyond just those we’re related to—it also includes the people we share our lives and deepest passions with. This campaign celebrates these diverse, optimistic views on family and the many forms love can take.”
Some of the celebrities enlisted include the cast of NBC’s new sitcom The New Normal displaying ‘Modern Love‘. A few of my other favorites include Rufus Wainwright posing with his husband for ‘Newlywed Love‘, Jack Huston with his dog Orso representing ‘Puppy Love‘ and rapper Nas with his dad showing ‘Fatherly Love‘. Check out all of The Gap’s shades of love below.
Vampires are so hot these days, it feels like there’s a new vampire-themed movie or TV show popping up every other day. While the undead seem to get all the glory and attention, their mythical furry counterparts often get the shaft. Well, I’m here to correct that.
I never realized this, but apparently I have a thing for werewolves. When I was writing this post, I noticed half of the contenders were previous weekly crushes of mine. I had no clue, these furry shapeshifters were my type. To honor my apparent obsession, I created a poll to ask all you diehard “True Blood“, “Twilight” or “The Vampire Diaries” viewers to decide which werewolf is the hottest. Since there are often more than one werewolf featured in these shows/movies, I opted to only select one from each. I didn’t want the poll dominated by actors from one particular offering.
These days MTV is primarily known for airing trashy reality
docu-dramas shows. Let’s face it, “Teen Mom“, “My Super Sweet 16” and “Jersey Shore” are pretty much bottom feeders. Entertaining? Yes. Embarrassing? Hella yes. Long gone are the days when the music television station actually played music videos on a regular basis. While they’re not heading back to music video airplay, they are veering away from showing so much reality and heading to scripted shows. Don’t worry, all you reality fans, you’ll still get your reality fix when “Jersey Shore 3” and the new Lauren Conrad show air next year.
One of the scripted shows the network is going with is a reboot of the Michael J. Fox film, “Teen Wolf”. It stars Tyler Posey playing the lead (Scott McCall) and Crystal Reed as the love interest. If Posey looks familiar to you, he played Jennifer Lopez’s son in “Maid In Manhattan“. Now he’s all grown and legal (19-year-olds) in real life for all you lusting after him. One of my former weekly crushes, Colton Haynes, also appears on the show.
Eminem’s new album, Recovery has leaked on the internet, just after he released his video for “Not Afraid,” which I really liked. In his new album, Eminem has a few high profile collaborations, and overall I think the album is pretty good. In some of the lyrics, he mentions “the last two albums didn’t count” and that he feels back to himself and has felt that he owes his fans a good album – this being it.
“Some Things Don’t Change,” that’s what Eminem says in one of his new tracks on the new album. He’s still as “Cold As The Cold Wind Blows” which is also the title of that particular track. In the song, he gives some shouts out to Elton John (“Might as well let my lips pucker like Elton John, cuz I’m just a mean cock sucker…”) and Michael J. Fox (“The world’ll stop spinning and Michael J. Fox will come to a stand still.”). A few celebs that get a taste of his cold lyrics.
In “Love The Way You Lie,” which features Rihanna, I’m kinda taken back to when Eminem collaborated with Dido in Stan, way back when. It’s actually a brilliant pairing, considering the song is about a destructive, unhealthy, and sometimes violent relationship – which of course, they’ve both been involved in. The chorus that Rihanna sings:
“Just gonna stand there and watch me burn, but that’s alright because I like the way it hurts. Just gonna stand there and hear me cry, but that’s alright because I love the way you lie, I love the way you lie.”
