Mark Wahlberg In His Undies On Set

In: Patrick, Totally GAY!

Back in the day, Mark Wahlberg was famous for his Calvin Klein ads. These days, it’s more about his movies but recently these worlds have merged when photos were taken of him on set in his underwear… and boy does he look good.

Wahlberg was on set filming for a new movie called ‘Pain and Gain‘, and seemingly on a break while chatting on the phone (either that, or it’s actually part of a scene in the film). He stars alongside Ed Harris and Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) in a film about a pair of bodybuilders in Florida who get caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong.

The film comes out in 2013, but for now check out the 40-year old‘s sexy pictures below.

There are very few instances when an actor makes their film debut as a headliner. Instead, they usually play supporting roles and sometimes even uncredited cameos in the background as their first film credit. You might’ve even seen your favorite actor’s debut but never realized it. Thankfully, someone’s done all the grunt work for us to enjoy.

Flavorwire has done extensive research and and dug up several famous celebrities’ first movie parts and compiled them in an easy-to-watch video mashup. From Matt Damon, Jonah Hill, Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg and countless in between, they’ve done an excellent job giving a wide range of actors. I highly suggest watching the clip if you’re a trivia buff. You never know when it’s going to come in handy. It’s also entertaining to see how fresh-faced a few of them look in their respective movie debuts- Matt Damon especially. So young and innocent. LOL.

Movie Review: Contraband

In: Movies, Tyrell

On Wednesday night, Patrick and I checked out a preview of Contraband starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale. We both hadn’t really done our research on the film and weren’t 100% sure what we were about to see. I was both shocked and excited once the movie immediately kicked into high gear with a storyline that was easy to follow yet left you on the edge of your seat. Both Patrick and I left the theatre feeling really tense as the movie keeps you on edge the entire time. Here is a synopsis of the film:

Contraband is an action-thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked hard to leave behind and the family he’ll do anything to protect. Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling – full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs-where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away.

Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best-running contraband-to settle Andy’s debt. Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills. Things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash. Check out the film’s trailer and my overall rating below.

Bieber Cast In New Basketball Film

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Movies, Tyrell

Canada’s singing sensation, Justin Bieber has been cast in a new film opposite Mark Wahlberg playing a young basketball star according to first reports from CBC. Wahlberg told MTV that the movie which is yet to be titled will go into production in 2012 and would see Mark play a mentor to the young star, similar to the concept of the film The Color of Money.

Wahlberg had stated back in August that he would love to work with Bieber on film. Why? Well, he’s mainly granting the wish of his young daughter, Ella Rae who thinks meeting Justin Bieber would be a dream come true.

But the question really is, can Bieber act? We’ve seen Bieber’s rocket to fame in his documentary, 3D mega-movie Never Say Never and we all watched him get shot on CSI:, but this would be Bieber’s first attempt at a full-length scripted drama. Wahlberg has all the faith in the “Baby” singer.

“I see the guy and spent time with him and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him and it’s there,” Wahlberg said. I guess I’ll have to wait to see the trailer to make that judgement for myself. Until then, check out some of Justin’s acting chops below.

Get your mind out of the gutter. It’s not what you think. As previously shared by Tyrell a few months ago, Mark Wahlberg is entering the burger business. The former Marky Mark is joining forces with his older brothers Paul and Donnie to open Wahlburgers. This is the brothers second venture in the culinary business. They also own and operate Alma Nove which is named after their mother- Alma Elaine.

Located at Hingham Shipyard in Boston, Wahlburgers held its grand opening Monday night. The brothers were on hand to launch the family burger joint. Also on hand to taste the Wahlbergs’ juicy beef burgers were athletes from the city’s professional teams like the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. On Tuesday, Wahlburgers was opened to the public.

So what you can expect from Wahlburgers’ menu? Fries, frappes, hot dogs, sweet potato tater tots, and burgers of course. One of the featured burgers, Triple Decker, is inspired by the triple stack home they grew up in. If you’re not a fan of their all-beef patties, they also have a Thanksgiving burger and salmon one to interest you. Inside, you’ll find the decor is devoted to some of Donnie and Mark’s Hollywood successes. Everything from NKOTB to movies like “The Departed” are referenced somehow at family owned joint.

Are You Craving A Wahlburger?

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Tyrell

Before you get too excited, this isn’t me asking if you’d like to be sandwiched between Donnie Wahlberg and Mark Wahlberg (although, who would be mad at that?) Donnie, Mark and their brother Paul are about to open yet another restaurant. The trio (along with their business partner) have just jumped over the final legal hoop to secure the name Wahlburgers. The name had been previously trademarked by someone else.

The brothers and their business partner Ed St. Croix stated that the named just fit and that they thought adding the brothers on to the brand would help sell product. The boys just had to work with Tom Wahl’s, a burger joint in Rochester, NY which actually currently serves a Wahlburger. The boys did have some back-up names in case the deal fell through, but they haven’t been released for fear of confusion.

Man, where does the time fly? It seems just like yesterday when Mark Wahlberg was giving everyone “Good Vibrations” as Marky Mark. Long before he was an Oscar-nominated actor, he was posing in his Calvin Kleins and showing off his third nipple. He’s certainly come a long way from being a young white rapper to respected A-List Hollywood power player.

In honor of his 40th birthday, let’s take a walk down Mark Wahlberg memory lane and remember some of his more memorable movie roles. One of my favorite movies from him was the 70s porn flick, “Boogie Nights“. Arguably, that was his breakout role… literally. Sure it was a prosthetic 13 inch penis, but it was still hot to envision his real package might actually measure up to it. Another favorite of mine is “The Italian Job“. I totally wanted a mini cooper after watching that heist flick. Now that I’ve shared my favorite Wahlberg films, I’d love to hear some of yours. Either vote in the poll below or post them in the comments section. If you scroll even further, you can check out Wahlberg shirtless at 20-years-old and in his late 30s after the jump.

Alice Ward Passes at 79

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Movies, Tyrell

Alice Ward who was famously reenacted by Melissa Leo in The Fighter has passed away. She died last night after she was removed from life support. She was being cared for in a Boston area hospital. Many knew she had been sick for a while as fellow actor Christian Bale made reference to her fighting spirit at the Critics Choice Awards.

On January 12th, the actress was taken to hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest. According to reports, she stopped breathing for 30 minutes before she regained consciousness. Talk about being a fighter in your own right. Alice had planned on being Melissa Leo’s date to the Academy Awards this past February but was not well enough to attend.
