At first Michael Bay denied it, but it appears rumors were true after all. The producer confirmed what people were speculating. What a difference a week makes. Transformers 4 revolves around a new cast of characters (so long Shia Labeouf) and will be a much darker sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon. With Labeouf out, Bay was on the hunt for a new leading man to save humanity from the evil Megatron and his army. Find out who below. Side note, how wicked is the new logo incorporating half of the Decepticon insignia? That alone makes me want to revisit the franchise, plus the fact this actor is on board.
The trailer for an upcoming thriller called Broken City has just been released, starring Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, and Catherine Zeta Jones. It looks good! As the trailer begins, we hear Crowe say, “There are some wars you fight and some wars you walk away from. This is the fighting kind.”
Broken City follows the story of an ex-cop named Billy Taggart (Wahlberg) who trails the wife (Jones) of New York City’s mayor (Crowe) and finds himself in the middle of a larger scandal. It’s a very corrupt situation, hence the name “broken city”. The mayor wants Taggart to find the man that is sleeping with his wife. Taggart agrees and does the job, but what happens after is not what he signed up for.
Both Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg’s performances look awesome in this movie. The movie comes out on January 18, 2013. Check out the trailer below!
As a result of the scandal, PBS has fired him from his role on ‘Market Warriors,’ releasing a statement saying: “Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the ‘Market Warriors’ series.” Willard has since denied the allegations and said it’s a complete misunderstanding. Ironically, he’s apparently working on a film called ‘The Yank‘. LOL.
Willard is best known for his roles in such films as “Best in Show” and “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy“. So the question remains, who will be replacing him on ‘Market Warriors’? Find out who it is below.
My friends Ryan Steele and Jeff Lynch are at it again. In the past year, the two funny guys have teamed up to reenact some famous female scenes in drag and today they just released a new one for ‘The Fighter‘. Thus far, they have tackled Tyra Bank’s freaking out ANTM, Clueless, Sister Act 2, and Jesse addicted to caffeine pills on Saved By The Bell.
In this scene from ‘The Fighter,’ Melissa Leo’s character (played by Ryan Steele) shows up to ask her son Mickey (Mark Wahlburg in the film but played by the hilarious Amy Goodmurphy in this video) why he’s been hiding out. Amy Adams‘ character (played by Jeff Lynch) sets Mickey’s mom and her daughters off and it’s an all out brawl on the porch.
Watch the parody below and share it with your friends! Oh, and PS I’m one of the ugly sisters in the video. Watch for me storming up the stairs upon arrival , to the left of Mickey’s mom (that’s me front & centre in the photo above). Enjoy!
Back in the day, Mark Wahlberg was famous for his Calvin Klein ads. These days, it’s more about his movies but recently these worlds have merged when photos were taken of him on set in his underwear… and boy does he look good.
Wahlberg was on set filming for a new movie called ‘Pain and Gain‘, and seemingly on a break while chatting on the phone (either that, or it’s actually part of a scene in the film). He stars alongside Ed Harris and Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) in a film about a pair of bodybuilders in Florida who get caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong.
The film comes out in 2013, but for now check out the 40-year old‘s sexy pictures below.
There are very few instances when an actor makes their film debut as a headliner. Instead, they usually play supporting roles and sometimes even uncredited cameos in the background as their first film credit. You might’ve even seen your favorite actor’s debut but never realized it. Thankfully, someone’s done all the grunt work for us to enjoy.
Flavorwire has done extensive research and and dug up several famous celebrities’ first movie parts and compiled them in an easy-to-watch video mashup. From Matt Damon, Jonah Hill, Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg and countless in between, they’ve done an excellent job giving a wide range of actors. I highly suggest watching the clip if you’re a trivia buff. You never know when it’s going to come in handy. It’s also entertaining to see how fresh-faced a few of them look in their respective movie debuts- Matt Damon especially. So young and innocent. LOL.
On Wednesday night, Patrick and I checked out a preview of Contraband starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale. We both hadn’t really done our research on the film and weren’t 100% sure what we were about to see. I was both shocked and excited once the movie immediately kicked into high gear with a storyline that was easy to follow yet left you on the edge of your seat. Both Patrick and I left the theatre feeling really tense as the movie keeps you on edge the entire time. Here is a synopsis of the film:
Contraband is an action-thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked hard to leave behind and the family he’ll do anything to protect. Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling – full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs-where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away.
Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best-running contraband-to settle Andy’s debt. Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills. Things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash. Check out the film’s trailer and my overall rating below.
Canada’s singing sensation, Justin Bieber has been cast in a new film opposite Mark Wahlberg playing a young basketball star according to first reports from CBC. Wahlberg told MTV that the movie which is yet to be titled will go into production in 2012 and would see Mark play a mentor to the young star, similar to the concept of the film The Color of Money.
Wahlberg had stated back in August that he would love to work with Bieber on film. Why? Well, he’s mainly granting the wish of his young daughter, Ella Rae who thinks meeting Justin Bieber would be a dream come true.
But the question really is, can Bieber act? We’ve seen Bieber’s rocket to fame in his documentary, 3D mega-movie Never Say Never and we all watched him get shot on CSI:, but this would be Bieber’s first attempt at a full-length scripted drama. Wahlberg has all the faith in the “Baby” singer.
“I see the guy and spent time with him and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him and it’s there,” Wahlberg said. I guess I’ll have to wait to see the trailer to make that judgement for myself. Until then, check out some of Justin’s acting chops below.
