Back in February, there were rumblings that Khloe Kardashian wasn’t coming back for the third season of The X Factor. FOX just released a statement officially announcing the 28-year-old reality star’s departure from the singing competition.
“Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host The X Factor,” the show’s producers said in a statement. “We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Staying on board though is Mario Lopez. No word if another personality will join him to co-host Season 3, but most likely he’ll do it solo. Having two hosts was completely unnecessary, IMHO. That said, I didn’t completely hate Khloe in that role. Her wardrobe malfunctions, awkward hosting skills and even more awkward on-air flirtations with Simon Cowell were somewhat entertaining to watch.
“I’m thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of The X Factor,” said Cowell in a statement. “Hosting a live show and keeping the judges – especially Demi – in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back.”
Will you miss her? Do you think Mario can do the gig all by himself? I hope they don’t bring Lopez until the live performances. I actually quite enjoyed the audition process and boot camp portions without a host. It had that Hills-like quality about it. Don’t you agree? Sound off below.

After seeing paparazzi shots of Mark-Paul Gosselaar on the beach filming his new show Franklin & Bash, I was inspired to do a Who’d You Rather: Saved By The Bell edition. Now, we can all walk a mile in Kelly Kapowski’s shoes. Choosing between these two is no easy task. I can’t believe we haven’t pitted these two against each other yet. It’s well documented that Mario Lopez still has a bangin’ body, but Gosselaar isn’t looking too shabby himself. Time has been kind to both these studs.
Since his days playing AC Slater on the classic teen sitcom, Lopez has mostly delved in the reality genre. The 39-year-old carved a niche as the go-to person to host a show. Lopez’s hosting credits include Extra, America’s Best Dance Crew and The X Factor. Before hosting, he competed on the third season of Dancing With The Stars where he was the runner-up. Mario also fronted his own reality docu-series, Mario Lopez: Saved By The Baby on VH1. My favorite post-SBTB gig hands down is his guest starring stint on Nip/Tuck. That shower scene was everything ;) Lopez is currently married to Courtney Mazza. The two have a daughter named Gia Francesca and are expecting their second child this September.
Unlike his Saved By The Bell co-star Lopez, the former Zack Morris has mainly stayed in the scripted genre. The 39-year-old actor has multiple television credits. Gosselaar starred in NYPD Blue from 2001-2005. Currently, he’s co-headlining TNT’s Franklin & Bash with Breckin Meyer. Like Mario, Mark-Paul has showed off his juicy butt. You can Google those beautiful screencaps from his TNT show and a guest spot on Showtime’s Weeds. He’s also guest starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Happy Endings and Rizzoli & Isles. Mark-Paul is currently married to Catriona McGinn. The two are expecting their first child in September like Lopez. How coincidental is that? Gosselaar has two other children from a previous marriage.
Without further ado, check out the guys from their days on Saved By The Bell to today. Don’t forget to cast your vote at the end.

According to the New York Post, Khloe Kardashian fans better prepare themselves for Khloe-free Season 3. FOX has reportedly decided not to “keep up” with this Kardashian.
Viewers who caught her X Factor co-hosting stint probably won’t find her firing too shocking. Critics found her chemistry with Mario Lopez, delivery and overall presence off-putting. There was even a rumor that she was getting paid by The Voice to screw things up purposely. LOL. LA hosting expert Marki Costello, said the following about the reality star.
“I am sure there was a big percentage of Khloe’s fans who followed her to ‘X Factor.’
But at the end of the day, when she doesn’t know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it?
It was really hard for me to watch Mario with her. It made me, as a viewer, almost uncomfortable.”

While Tiffani Thiessen was busy being blindsided by a reunion with Mr. Belding on The Today Show, her Saved By The Bell co-star was getting naked on Extra. Mario Lopez certainly has no problem showing off his toned physique. This time around, his reason for doing so was due to losing a Super Bowl bet.
Last year, his Extra co-host Mario Menounos wore a NY Giants bikini in Times Square after the New England Patriots lost last year’s Super Bowl. This year, she was on the winning end and it was Mario’s turn to shed his clothes. The 39-year-old stripped down to his underwear (his brand Rated M of course) and ran around the Grove in Los Angeles wearing a Ravens helmet. Check out the clip below.
It’s finally here. After all the auditions, boot camp, judges’ homes and double eliminations it’s the big night where the Top 3 give it all they have. Thank God. I’m not sure I can endure another week of the X Factor. I really hope Simon makes even more drastic changes for next year to challenge The Voice and American Idol. That said, I really did enjoy some aspects this year. Particularly the revealing of the rankings on results night was a welcome addition.
For the final night of competition, the remaining acts sang three songs each- a memorable song from the series, a celebrity duet and their $5 million song. Speaking of the duets, clearly the show has lost a bit of its pull. Last year, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette and R. Kelly joined the Final 3 for duets. This year, Cowell got LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town and judge Demi Lovato to duo with the contestants. No disrespect but definitely less star wattage. Meanwhile on The Voice, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, The Killers, Bruno Mars and even Lavigne popped up for the star-studded finale.
Before the Final 3 battled it out, a group performance with X Factor’s Top 13 kicked things off. Simon Cowell gave a few words dedicating the number to the victims of the Sandy Hook shootings. Though well-intentioned and sentimental in its own right, I couldn’t help but reliving The Voice’s moving “Hallelujah” tribute. The emotional performance had the judges and contestants holding cards with names of those who perished. If you haven’t watched it, you simply have to. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. Without further ado, let’s get to tonight’s performances.

As I’m typing this, my fingers are literally shaking. I want so badly for Fifth Harmony to make it. So much so, I actually voted last night for the first time this season. Here’s hoping my 15 votes made the difference ;)
Speaking of my favorite girls, it’s kinda hilarious Bruno Mars is on deck tonight. After all, it’s because of his sisters that Fifth Harmony had to change their name twice- LYLAS and 1432. Would the Mars family again be responsible for “locking them out of heaven”? Let’s get to the results. BTW. Some teen chick named Bridgit Mendler wearing glittered shorts performed, making me wish T. Swift was here instead ;)
It’s The X Factor Season 2 semifinals and finally the decision is out of the judges’ hands. There’s no singing for survival on tomorrow’s results show and no deliberation by the panel. It’s all about America’s votes. Here’s hoping the public makes the right call.
Each act performed two songs a piece. One of their choice and the other chosen by their mentor. Personally, I thought the contestants collectively fared better when the decision was in their hands. I don’t feel any of their mentors did them any favors and in Simon’s case, I thought he hindered more than assisted. Check out all the performances below.

This week’s X Factor results episode was brought to you by Sony X Headphones. As if the Pepsi sponsorship wasn’t in your face enough, Simon Cowell is now pimping out Sony products. He even forced asked the Top 6 to praise the superior quality of the headphones which apparently he had a hand in their development evolution. Yay, right. That said, they do look pretty sexy and I want a pair. Simon, I expect my pair in the mail before Christmas.
On deck as filler for the episode were reigning X Factor champion Melanie Amaro and trash-pop innovator Ke$ha. I have to give Amaro credit. She really sold “Long Distance” with her live performance. I enjoyed it much more this time than the first time I heard it. Girlfriend was working that long side blond pony like her rent was due. To be honest, it is due. Melanie needs a hit stat. Otherwise, she might find herself back in Sunrise, Florida working on that island accent of hers *wink*.
Ke$ha performed “C’mon” from her Warrior album. Accompanying her were a quartet of crop-wearing male dancers wearing tiger heads. God love Ke$ha. Personally, I like “Die Young” better, but I’m sure “C’mon” will grow on me as with many of her songs. Note to production: They might want to check the pedestal Ke$ha was performing on for STDs. Girl was writhing on it like nobody’s business. I’m sure a drop or two of her juices leaked out. LOL. As expected, glittered confetti came fluttering down midway through her number. Without further ado, let’s get to the eliminations.
