If you haven’t noticed yet, the promotional train for Game of Thrones is in overdrive. With a month to go until the Season 5 premiere, HBO is making sure everyone knows the fantasy drama is back on April 12.
Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and Maisie Williams each grace their own separate cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The magazine traveled with the cast and crew to three countries and spent ten days on set to give a preview of what’s to come this upcoming season. Don’t worry, it’s all spoiler free.
“Worlds are colliding,” showrunner David Benioff, said to EW.com. “One of the things we’ve been most excited about from the beginning of the series is we’ve had all these far-flung story lines across Westeros and Essos which almost never cross. Now some of these characters start to head on a collision course for each other.”
In addition to issuing four collectible covers, the publication devoted an unprecedented 30 pages exploring the past, present and future of the HBO series. This issue is a must-have for any hardcore fan. Check out the other covers snapped by photographer Marc Hom below.
For anyone as obsessed with Game of Thrones as I am, this two minute video will most likely be the most exciting part of your day. While season 3 of GoT doesn’t air until March 31st, HBO has released a tiny featurette giving us a behind the scenes look at some of the locations and characters in the new season.
I couldn’t help but start drooling when I saw the extremely sexy Richard Madden, who plays Robb Stark. It’s also funny to hear Peter Dinklage when he drops his atrocious accent.
While the first two seasons were essentially an adaptation of the first two books in the series, many characters were purposely left out of season 2. You’ll be happy to know that the writers were merely saving them until they became more central to the plot.
Season 3 will cover about the first half of the 3rd book. The show’s creators have always said that their vision for their show was an adaptation of the series as a whole, not of the individual books. This allows them to move things around a bit in terms of timelines and locations to make more cohesive seasons.Fans of the books will also be excited to know that Meera and Jojen Reed will finally be appearing on the show. Jojen will be played by the adorable Thomas Sangster who some of you will remember as that little boy from Love Actually.
