The Man of Steel Covers Empire Magazine

In: Donovan, Movies

I could be super cheesy and start this post by saying, “It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane… It’s Superman,” but I won’t. OOPS, I think I just did ;)

Henry Cavill in all his superhero glory graces the new issue of Empire magazine. As fine as he looks on the cover, I can’t wait to see his super buff body in 3D when Man of Steel hits theaters June 14. Now that, is worth lining up for. Empire chose the highly-anticipated movie to front their 2013 movie superhero preview. In this calendar year alone, The Wolverine, Thor: Dark World, Iron Man 3, Kick-Ass 2 & The Lone Ranger are gunning for a piece of the cinema pie. Speaking of Tonto’s best friend, when did the Lone Ranger classify as a superhero???

A lot is riding on Zack Synder’s reboot of the Superman franchise. If it does well, most likely the long-awaited Justice League movie will finally become a reality. Speaking for myself, I’ve been waiting for Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern and the gang to appear in the same movie for a long time. Not going to lie, I was more of a DC Comics guy than a Marvel one growing up.

In addition to Cavill, Man of Steel also stars Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe. Check out a couple of promos of Crowe as Jor-El and Michael Shannon as General Zod below, along with the cover of Empire without all the cover-line text.

Taylor Swift has made a career of turning heartbreak into record sales. It only makes sense that Justin Bieber take a page from the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer’s playbook. The 18-year-old Canadian pop star just debuted his brand new song on Billboard.com. A track he wrote about his breakup with longtime girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Dare I say it, but I absolutely love it. I kinda like this gentler less-cocky side of him.

“I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been. I’m trying to get through what I’m going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”- Justin Bieber

Nothing Like Us” will appear on his album, Believe Acoustic, available today. The remix compilation will feature brand new acoustic arrangements of several tracks from Believe along with brand new songs, “Yellow Raincoat” and “I Would.” In addition to giving the exclusive premiere to Billboard magazine and gracing the cover, Bieber sits down for, according to him, his “most honest” interview yet. Listen to how Selena broke his itty bitty heart below.

In the most recent issue (#175) of DNA Magazine, an incredibly sexy model named Yadier Rodriguez takes the cover and certainly has everyone talking (and gawking). DNA describes him as “Brazil’s Sexiest Secret” and if that’s the case, the secret’s out.

The photos in the spread were shot by photographer Abel Cruz and features Rodriguez wearing only speedos or underwear in all of the shots. He’s got impeccable body and the sexiest tattoos, with one large one on his left shoulder and another balancing it out on the right side of his stomach/torso. a couple of the shots feature Rodriguez draped in rope which you can let your imagination run away with.

The funny thing is that I think he actually has been “secret,” or at the very least, this is his big debut because I haven’t seen any other modelling shots from him on the web other than from this shoot. I have a feeling that this is definitely not the last time we’ll be seeing him though. I’ve included the magazine cover and a handful of the pictures from the spread below. Enjoy!

American Idol’s 12th season premieres tonight and it’s only fitting that we catch up with one of the most successful artists to come from the FOX singing competition. Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood took a break from her world tour to pose for Allure magazine’s February 2013 issue. Her covers must sell well for the publication since this is her third time gracing one.

Photographed by Alexi Lubormirski, Underwood is the epitome of understated country glamor. The shoot took place at the historic Overholser Mansion in Oklahoma City. With her blond locks and high fashion threads by Burberry Prorsum and Calvin Klein to name a few, Carrie leaves her fans “Blown Away” with her approachable beauty.

In the accompany interview, Carrie answers a wide array of questions. From her sexy stage outfits to her marriage to NHL player Mike Fisher, everything is covered. Speaking of marriage, the 29-year-old country superstar voices her stance on gay marriage. She also talks about ABC’s country soap Nashville and if any of the characters resemble her. Check out photos and quotes from the February issue below.

It’s a new year, but Rihanna is still using the same tactics she did last year. The 24-year-old appears on yet another magazine cover wearing barely there clothing. This time around she appears in seven different ones all snapped by photographer Zoe McConnell for Complex magazine’s February/March 2013 issue. The Unapologetic singer really opens up for the publication with a few revealing self portraits and an equally naked interview. Check out this awkward excerpt when the interviewer asked Robyn Rihanna Fenty about her duet with Chris Brown on “Nobody’s Business.”

Before leaving the restaurant for the airport, Rihanna addresses one last question. It’s the biggest question surrounding the song: If her relationship with Brown is truly nobody’s business, then why make a record about it?

Her voice, usually warm and cut with chuckles, turns cold. ‘Pardon me?’ she replies, her eyebrow slightly raised. Even after the question is repeated, she hesitates to answer. The hands that moved up and down throughout the conversation, suddenly fall flat. ‘It’s the truth. Remember?’ she says, turning toward the other side of the table to gather her belongings. As she gets up to leave, she adds: ‘It’s a fun record that The-Dream wrote and we loved the lyrics. You’re still asking me questions about it so clearly you don’t know.’

Check out all seven versions of Rihanna’s Complex covers below. Be sure to share which one is your favorite and why in our comments section.

The sexy Todd Sanfield is heating up the cover of a magazine called Oh My God in Spain this month. Inside the magazine, Sanfield answers some questions about being an underwear designer, model, and what other projects he’s working on.

Of course the magazine is in Spanish and unfortunately I can’t read Spanish, so Sanfield was gracious enough to send me what he had sent them in terms of responses to their questions. Apart from having his underwear brand, Sanfield said, “Currently, I am in my third year of graduate school studying to be a Pharmacist (Doctor of Pharmacy, PharmD). I have this year and next year until I am finished. I spend a lot of time studying!” He also talked about his sexy MOTEL | HOTEL coffee table book, shot by Kevin McDermott (the same guy who shot to cover of this Oh My God issue).

The cover and editorial photo are both super hot. Check out the photos and read the rest of the interview below.

2012 was relatively quiet for Beyonce. For others it would’ve been a busy year. After spending most of the year tending to her baby Blue Ivy, the 31-year-old singer is coming back with a vengeance. Prep yourself for a Beyonce onslaught.

Just in the next couple months, Bey will be debuting her HBO documentary, headlining the half-time show at the 47th annual Superbowl, releasing a brand new single and performing at President Obama’s inauguration. Can you imagine what she has in store for us for the rest of the year?

If that wasn’t enough, Mrs. Jay-Z is showing some under-boobage for the February 2013 GQ issue. The “Halo” singer was photographed by Terry Richardson in a very short cropped football jersey and animal-print panties. The publication choose to feature the Dreamgirls actress as part of their 100 Sexiest Women of the 21st Century editorial.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire doesn’t hit theaters until November 22, 2013, but Entertainment Weekly is giving fans an early sneak peek of the highly-anticipated sequel. While I appreciate the images, teasing us like this and having to wait almost an entire year to actually see the film is absolute torture (first world problems).

The publication chose Jennifer Lawrence and Sam Claflin to grace the cover of their 2013 entertainment preview. Claflin who joins the cast as Finnick Odair gives his first interview regarding his high-profile role. He reveals to the mag that taking the role of Finnick was “The scariest moment of my life. I’m on Twitter and so many people have been like ‘Don’t mess this up, or we will kill you.’” I wouldn’t take those words lightly if I were Claflin. Some of those Hunger Games die-hard fans are extremely hardcore. Check out another picture below of Katniss and Finnick before the two head off to war.
