Traditionally, Vogue doesn’t have a great track record for featuring women of color on their cover. Since 1989, only eight women have earned that honor. Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Naomi Campbell, Liya Kebede, Beyonce, Rihanna, Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama have been the select few.

Reigning Oscar Best Actress winner Lupita Nyong’o joins that elite bunch by nabbing her first US Vogue cover. She becomes only the second woman of African origin since Ethiopian Kebede to grace the cover. Given the fashion icon that she’s become plus earning People magazine’s Most Beautiful title, I was hoping Lupita would score the coveted September issue.

For the accompanying interview, Nyong’o talks about her run-ins with paparazzi, watching herself for the first time in 12 Years A Slave and her upcoming role in Star Wars Episode VII. Check out those quotes, along with more photos snapped by Mikael Jansson below. The editorial styling keeps in line with her exotic looks. I love the ethnic touches.

On Being Snapped By Paparazzi For The First Time

“For a split second I looked behind me to see who they were flashing at — and it was me! That was, I think, the beginning of the end of my anonymity.”

For the first time in the publication’s history, one woman is the cover girl for all their international editions simultaneously. That’s 62 in total. Cosmopolitan tapped Katy Perry to be their first ever global cover girl. Why the “Dark Horse” singer?

“Katy’s music and attitude have universal appeal to young women everywhere,” says Joanna Coles, the mag’s editor. “She crosses all cultural boundaries. Her music is soulful and empowering in equal measure. She’s the first Cosmo global icon.”

Whether Britney, Gaga, Beyonce or Madonna is your diva of choice, there is no denying Perry’s success. As of last February, she became the most followed person on Twitter with over 53 million followers. With her previous album, Teenage Dream which debuted at No. 1 in eight countries, she matched Michael Jackson’s feat of scoring five No. 1 singles off an album. Check out some of the international editions below.

Just days after teasing their joint editorial, Madonna and Katy Perry’s spread in V Magazine is here in full. The dynamic duo pose for Steven Klein for the publication’s “Power of Pop” issue. It’s Bettie Paige meets S&M dominatrix dungeon.

Even though it’s clearly obvious the amount of Photoshop used to make Madge remotely look Katy’s age, I like the photo editorial. I’d love for these two to collaborate in the recording studio as well.

On The Physicality Of The Photoshoot

Katy Perry: I was sore in my upper body and in my butt area from all that squatting.
Madonna: It’s good to be sore in your butt. My neck is sore from that wonderful moment when I was sucking on your heel.

How’s that for a headline? If one of those topics doesn’t grab you, nothing will.

Channing Tatum graces the June cover of GQ Magazine snapped by photographer Sebastian Kim. The Magic Mike star talks about a wide range of topics including his love for The Biggest Loser, being a high-functioning alcoholic, talking about his upcoming role as X-Men Gambit and an X-rated bet he made with his 22 Jump Street co-star Jonah Hill.

Tatum and Jonah made a deal that if 21 Jump Street opened more than $35 million, Hill would kiss Tatum’s penis tip through his underwear. Channing reveals he hasn’t made him do it yet saying, “For obvious reasons. That’s a bad bet to lose — it’s not too good to win, either. But definitely the shame of it would be enjoyable.” “It’s a lose-lose for both parties, I feel,” says Hill adding he’d have to clear it with Tatum’s wife Jenna. Check out more pics and quotes below.

Neil Patrick Harris isn’t afraid to let it all hang out. Well, not everything. A strategically well-placed top hat covers his junk while the 40-year-old actor reveals to Rolling Stone ‘How He Met Himself.”

While most gay actors fear coming out might hurt their career, Harris tells the publication that revealing his sexuality publicly actually helped his professional life.

How Coming Out Helped His Career

“Once all the cards were on the table, I got more opportunities than ever. Some actors don’t get hired because you can’t look into their soul and see what they’re like, because they’re kept guarded.”

Though coming out gave him more opportunities, Neil Patrick states it was a small cameo in a movie that actually turned his career around. Find out which film that was below, along with the full look of his revealing magazine cover snapped by none other than Terry Richardson.

Just last month, Matt Bomer dropped a bombshell to Details that he secretly married Hollywood power publicist Simon Halls three years ago. The 36-year-old actor shares more details about his secret wedding to another publication.

In addition to his nuptials, Bomer talks to OUT magazine about the responsibility of being out publicly, how being a father to three kids has changed him and much more. Check out more photos snapped by Kai Z Feng below along with more quotes from the accompanying interview.

On His Wedding To Simon Halls

“It was very chill. Very small—only our nearest and dearest. There’s a security, a validity of knowing that it’s legal. It’s hard to put into words. It’s just a feeling, I guess—something about saying vows in front the people around you who love and support you. I think it was good for our family.

In honor of Black Music Month, Ebony magazine is issuing four collectible covers with a different musical superstar gracing each one. The publication pays tribute to them for their “unprecedented impact on black music.”

Not surprisingly given her remarkable year, Beyonce snags one and earns the title of ‘Diva.’ Her other half, hubby Jay-Z, scored a cover as well with the ‘Mogul’ moniker. Rounding out the four are Rihanna and Kanye West with the titles of ‘Rebel’ and ‘Poet’ respectively.

Inside the issue, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill and Prince are also honored, along with icons of years past, including Tina Turner, Tupac, and Donna Summer. The issue hits newsstands on Tuesday. Check out the rest of the covers below.

“It was an honor to write the four cover stories for EBONY magazine’s Black Music Month special collector’s edition,” said music writer Kevin Powell. “Rarely do you see today’s unstoppable stars like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye West and Jay Z packaged with legends like Tina Turner, Donna Summer or Tupac Shakur, but we did it because when it comes to Black music, it is important to note the deep connection between the musicians of yesterday and today.”

matt-bomer-details

When Matt Bomer publicly came out as gay two years ago, he omitted a very important detail about his personal life. Turns out, the 36-year-old was already hitched. He reveals in the latest issue of Details magazine that he secretly married his longtime partner, Simon Halls, back in 2011. The White Collar actor and Hollywood power publicist have three sons: 6-year-old twins and an 8-year-old.

In addition to dropping that bombshell, Bomer talks about his upcoming role in HBO’s highly-anticipated movie, The Normal Heart. Matt plays a gay man dying of AIDS during the early days of the epidemic in New York City. He reportedly lost 40 pounds for the role. Bomer reveals he sought advice from his Magic Mike co-star Matthew McConaughey who famously lost major weight for his Oscar-winning turn in Dallas Buyers Club. Check out more pics and quotes below.
