Madonna is no dummy. The 56-year-old legend knows exactly where the majority of her fan base lies. Ergo the strategy behind this unique promo sweepstakes.

Throughout the night, only a handful of awards were presented during the 57th Grammy Awards. The marathon telecast instead opted to show performances. Some were memorable while others almost put me to sleep. Seriously, I have no idea what Ariana Grande was thinking. She has so many far superior songs than the ballad she chose.
By far, my favorite was Sia’s latest performance of her smash hit “Chandelier.” Maddie was once again on hand to execute some wicked contemporary choreography but this time she was joined by the hilarious Kristen Wiig. I’m still in shock the Aussie singer lost out Best Video to Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.” #robbed
Other highlights came from female veterans. Madonna injected some much needed energy in a night filled with ballads. Say what you will, but the 56-year-old can still deliver a fun pop performance. Meanwhile, Annie Lennox cast a spell on the audience when she joined Hozier. Mary J. Blige did the same when she paired up with Best New Artist Sam Smith on his ubiquitous hit, “Stay With Me.”
Beyonce closed out the show by delivering a soaring gospel number. Instead of being accompanied by women on stage, Bey opted to feature men who have suffered and lived. “I felt like this is an opportunity to show the strength and vulnerability in black men,” she revealed. Check out her unforgettable performance below along with the others. Be sure to weigh in on your favorite Grammy performances.
Madonna sure has a hard-on for all things bullfighting related. She’s often taken inspiration from the spectacle for several of her music videos and once again does it for “Living For Love.”
The 56-year-old icon engages in a beautifully choreographed duel against some hunky shirtless human bulls. The dramatic visual was directed by J.A.C.K. (Julien Choquart and Camille Hirigoyen). It ends with the following quote from Friedrich Nietzsche.
“Man is the cruelest animal. At tragedies, bullfights and crucifixions he has felt best on earth; and when he invented hell for himself that was his very heaven.”
Madge made history with “Living For Love” by becoming the first artist to premiere a music video on Snapchat. Check it out below. I actually quite dig it and makes me like the track more.
New club location in the city’s downtown core now accepting memberships!
Hard Candy Fitness®, the global luxury fitness brand in partnership with Madonna and New Evolution Ventures (NeV), today announced the October 31st opening of Hard Candy Fitness Toronto located at 382 Yonge Street. The exquisite 42,000 sq. ft. facility is the brand’s first club in North America and the largest of all current Hard Candy Fitness gyms whose current locations include Rome, Sydney, Santiago, Mexico City, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Russia, and Berlin.
“We are very excited about the opening of Toronto’s new Hard Candy Fitness,” said Leonard Schlemm, chairman and co-owner, of Hard Candy Fitness Toronto. “The club is in one of the city’s most beautiful condominium towers in arguably the most vibrant neighborhood in Toronto.”
Apparently, dancing is all the rage in fashion these days. Instead of models just doing their signature walks, girls are now being asked to shimmy, shake it and grind it on the runway. First Rick Owens showed off his entire collection at Paris Fashion Week using stepping teams, and now Jean Paul Gaultier is getting his groove on. The French designer is best known for creating Madonna’s iconic cone bra back in the 90s during her voguing days.
Speaking of vogue, JPG enlisted Karlie Kloss to show off her skills. While Scissor Sisters’ “Let’s Have A Kiki” played in the background, girlfriend busted out more angles than a protractor. Kloss was facilitating a master class in geometry, for real. Fierce doesn’t even begin to describe the unforgettable moment.
Also busting out in dance was Canadian supermodel Coca Rocha. The former professional Irish jigger (is that a word?) channeled her inner John Travolta for a Grease-inspired segment. From the pompadour to the iconic dance moves, Coco served major Danny Zuko realness. Watch both epic moments below, along with the entire Gaultier fashion show.
I never thought Madonna would ever unveil her #SecretProject. She’s been teasing this mysterious piece of work for months now. Some thought it might be a concert DVD. There was even speculation it had something to do with promoting her boyfriend’s clothing line. Turns out the film is a part of Art For Freedom, the launch of a global initiative to further freedom of expression. The project is in conjunction with VICE and BitTorrent who curated and distributing it respectively.
“My goal is to show by the example of secretprojectrevolution my creative commitment to inspire change in the world through artistic expression,” the Material Mom elaborated. “I hope my film and other submissions to Art for Freedom will be a call to action and give people a place to voice their own creative expression to help fight oppression, intolerance and complacency.” – Madonna
Madonna unveiled the black and white Steven Klein-directed visual guerrilla style, projecting the film on building walls in select cities including New York, Toronto, Berlin and Los Angeles. It’s everything you’d expect from Madge- gorgeously shot, provocative, full of shirtless men, and a tad pretentious. Check out the short film below.
In the wake of Madonna and Lady Gaga openly defying Russia’s anti-gay law on their soil, the government is making entry into the country more difficult for foreign performers according to the Moscow Times. Russian conservatives tried to file lawsuits against them in the spirit of the controversial law banning the promotion of “nontraditional sexual relationships” to minors that came into effect this summer.
The first one affected by the tougher restrictions is Selena Gomez. The powers that be obviously perceive her as pro-gay, which I assume is probably true. The “Slow Down” singer is forced to cancel two scheduled shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow on September 23 and 25 respectively due to her visa being declined. As someone’s who’s seen her Stars Dance World Tour, they’re missing out. At least from what I can remember ;)
You knew it was coming? Within days of “Applause” surfacing online, plagiarism claims have once again befallen Lady Gaga. Not surprisingly, Madonna is involved.
While not completely blatant like “Born This Way” ripping off “Express Yourself,” fans of Madge allege Mother Monster’s latest sounds too similar to “Girl Gone Wild.” Personally, it’s a stretch, but I will say one thing. The two tracks make for one wicked mashup. Check out the audio below and weigh in afterward if you think Gaga has once again dipped in the Material Girls’ pool of hits.
