Madonna Responds To Arrest Of Her Alleged Hacker

In: Donovan, Music

Back in December, demos for most of Madonna‘s forthcoming album leaked online. It appears the culprit behind the massive leak of Rebel Heart has been apprehended.

Israeli police believe they’ve caught the 39-year-old man who hacked into Madge’s computer. Allegedly the man is suspected of stealing work from other artists as well. Media in Tel Aviv report the suspect is a former contestant on one of the singing competitions in the country. The arrest comes after a month-long investigation by the country’s FBI-like agency- Lahav 433.

“[The suspect] broke into the personal computers of several international artists over the past few months and stole promotional final-cut singles which have yet to be released and traded them online for a fee.” – Lahav 433

Naturally, Madonna is thankful that the man supposedly responsible for this nightmare is behind bars. She wrote the following on Facebook.

At one point in every pop princess’ career, an homage to Madonna is definitely required. Miley Cyrus channels Madge during her True Blue era, specifically her “Open Your Heart” music video. All for her first promotional video for MAC Viva Glam Cosmetics.

The “Wrecking Ball” singer is the latest spokesperson for the brand joining the ranks of Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Check out her clip below, along with Madonna’s original video for nostalgic sake.

Madonna fell victim to major leakage problems weeks ago, forcing her label to move up the release date of her 13th studio album. With so many of her demos surfacing online, many wondered which, if any of them, would make the cut. The wait is over.

The official track list has been unveiled. Rebel Heart will include 19 tracks featuring some guest vocals from Nicki Minaj, NAS and Mike Tyson. Yup, you read that right. The former boxing champ pops up on the track “Iconic” with Chance The Rapper. Check out the other tracks to make the final cut below.

It’s not exactly new music from Rihanna but it should temporarily satisfy her Navy until material from R8 leaks.

Back in 2008, RiRi covered the Madonna classic, “Vogue,” for Fashion Rocks! The performance was live but the 26-year-old singer recorded a studio version to use as a guide track for the television special. Over six years later, the audio has surprisingly surfaced online.

Check out Rihanna’s version below and see if it comes close to Madge’s original 90s hit.

A brilliantly-crafted remix can do wonders. Sometimes it elevates a song to new heights. Other times it has the power to convert haters into fans. It can also make you fall in love with the track all over again. The following dance overhauls certainly fall into one of the aforementioned situations.

Djemba Djemba adds more 90s-like electronic effects on Madonna‘s “Living For Love,” making it an even more club-friendly anthem.

Selena Gomez unleashes another handful of remixes for her personal “The Heart Wants What It Wants” ballad. A previous package included DJ Kue, Ruff Loaderz and Cosmic Dawn (my favorite). Veterans in the game Dave Aude and DJ Laszlo now put their spin on Gomez’s latest hit.

Last and certainly not least is another remixing god. English DJs Moto Blanco have done wonders with their take on “L.A Love (La La).” They’ve taken the polarizing song and spun a creation that might even appeal to Fergie’s fans who absolutely loathed the original. Check out all three below.

To say Madonna wasn’t happy when over half of the demos from her forthcoming album leaked online would be a huge understatement. Fans were curious to see what her next step would be. As an early Christmas gift, the 56-year-old diva has just released six songs from her new studio album, officially titled, Rebel Heart.

“I was hoping to release my new single “Living For Love” on Valentine’s Day with the rest of the album coming in the Spring. I would prefer my fans to hear completed versions of some of the songs instead of the incomplete tracks that are circulating. Please consider these six songs as an early Christmas gift,” commented Madonna.

Living For Love,” the lead cut, along with “Devil Pray,” “Ghosttown,” “Unapologetic Bitch,” “Illuminati” and “Bitch I’m Madonna” featuring Nicki Minaj are currently available for purchase now via pre-order at iTunes and other music outlets. Additional music will be released on Feb. 9th. The full album of Rebel Heart on Interscope Records is scheduled to be released the first week in March 2015. Check out the finished produced tracks below and weigh in afterward.

Remember when Lady Gaga was being touted as the new Madonna? Well, it appears the original Madonna is the new Madonna. The 56-year-old icon has been tapped to front Versace’s Spring/Summer 2015 campaign. She replaces Mother Monster as the spokesmodel for the Italian fashion house.

“Madonna is one of the true icons of Versace, and I am thrilled to have my friend and the most powerful directional artist as the face of Versace for Spring 2015,” Donatella stated.

This isn’t the first time Madge has taken on this role for the brand. The Material Girl first modeled for Versace back in 1995. This marks her fourth time as the ambassador for the label.

“It’s always exciting to be dressed head to toe in Versace and experience first-hand Donatella’s vivid imagination and passion that she has created for this collection,” Madonna shared in statement

Madonna once again steps in front of the creative lens of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. These timeless black and white images are a far cry from the racy pics snapped by the duo for Interview magazine released earlier this week. Check out more of the ad campaign below.

With over 300 million records sold worldwide and numerous lucrative business ventures, Madonna has certainly amassed a fortune over the past three decades. According to Wealth-X, the 56-year-old icon is the world’s richest recording artist with a net worth of $800 million. With a new album on the way and plenty of mileage left, expect Madge to pad that number over the next few years. I wouldn’t expect anything else from the best-selling female recording artist of all time according to Guinness World Records.

Coming in the runner-up slot as the second wealthiest recording artist on the planet is Paul McCartney with $660 million in his bank. Rounding out the Top 3 is Dr. Dre. The hip hop mogul doesn’t have a long list of hits, but he makes the list due to selling his Beats to Apple. The youngest person to make the Top 10 is 33-year-old Beyonce. She squeaks in at the No. 10 spot with a personal fortune of $440 million. Check out the rest below.
