What goes up, must come down. And down it did. After scoring her eighth No. 1 album of her career, Madonna is setting a Billboard record she never wanted. According to Forbes.com “MDNA” will post the biggest second week drop in Billboard history. In its debut week, Madge sold 359,000 copies of “MDNA” out of the gate and this week it moved a paltry 46,000 units. That figure represents a whopping 88% decline. OUCH. This gives the term “top heavy” a whole new meaning and I’m not talking about the “Material Girl’s” boobs either.
In what was considered a savvy move, Madonna included her album in conjunction with concert ticket sales. Those units moved were included in her first week sales total thereby inflating her actual numbers. Since her concert is mostly sold out, those “special” promotional albums are no longer boosting “MDNA“. This week’s totals are a telling barometer on the interest of “MDNA”, which is apparently very little. Typically, albums depreciate in the 40-50% range like Lionel Richie’s “Tuskegee” album. He landed in the runner-up slot just behind Madonna and this week experienced a 47% decline with 110,000 albums sold.
Madonna’s huge decline shouldn’t come as a surprise since hardly any promotion was done by Madge herself. To boot, the album hasn’t produced a hit single yet or had any tracks receive substantial radio play. “Give Me All Your Luvin‘” definitely didn’t do the trick. We should hardly feel bad for the 53-year-old singer. Even if her album sells squat next week, she’ll be laughing all the way to the bank thanks to her overpriced concert tickets.

As expected, Madonna’s latest album topped the Billboard Top 200. “MDNA” becomes her eighth No. 1 album of her illustrious career which began back in 1984. Remarkably, four out of her twelve studio albums never reached pole position including her critically acclaimed “Ray of Light” effort which garnered four Grammy awards. How insane is that?
Madge’s “MDNA” moved an impressive 359,000 copies this week, beating Lionel Richie’s country-inspired “Tuskegee” which sold 199,000 units. Side note, how awesome is Richie’s reinterpretation of his classic ballad “Endless Love” with Shania Twain? Madonna’s first week sales of “MDNA” improves upon the debut totals of her last offering, “Hard Candy” which posted 280,000 at cash registers. I’m sure concert sales for her Fall North American tour aided in the boost. Concert goers who purchased tickets were given an option to receive either a physical CD or digital download. Those who opted with the former, the copies shipped were included in the first week totals.
So with Madonna Louise Ciccone reigning supreme once again, I ask you Homorazzi.com readers this all-important question. Which of her chart toppers is your favorite? Sadly, since “Ray of Light” isn’t included, I’m have to go with her first album, “Like A Virgin”. It’s OG Madonna. Can’t argue with that. And you?

I know what you’re thinking: it’s usually Madonna that does the riding, right? But, this weekend it’s the sexy boys of YVR that will be riding the Material Girl into the wee hours as Vancouver’s best gay talent takes to the stage at Club 560 to perform and spin their biggest and best remixes of Madonna’s greatest hits this Saturday, March 31st at 560 Seymour Street in the heart of downtown.
PONI- for those who haven’t heard- is Saturdays revamped at Club 560 as they refuse to let the gays go gently into that good night and continue to offer us week after week of the newest and greatest talent out there with big names, touring parties at one of Vancouver’s biggest venues. Three floors to accommodate any vibe and all customers, this weekend promises to be a damn good one for anyone who loves the endless song book of Madonna as remixed by DJ Adam Dreaddy and DJ Nick Bertossi: possibly Vancouver’s sexiest DJs if not some of the most talented (no joke, click on the links to realize I’m not just makin’ it up). Not only that, but we’ll be getting a performance by my FAVOURITE fishy drag queen (thanks RuPaul for that vocab): Raye Sunshine. This girl is sex personified as she dresses to the nines, lip synches like a dream and puts her all into every single performance. She’ll be done up better than Madge herself and there’s a rumour the hirsute DJs will be supporting her LMFAO style!

We all know that Madonna is even better remixed when it comes to shaking our booties at the club. Here are a few remixes of her 2nd single “Girl Gone Wild“. Of all the tracks in the new MDNA album, “Gang Bang” and “Girl Gone Wild” are my two most favorites.
Check out the remixes on the next part of the post and vote on which one you like the best.
If you know of even better remixes, post them in the comments section. Enjoy!

This weekend, Madonna sat down with Jimmy Fallon for a live interview feed on Facebook where she talked about her new album MDNA. I’m sure many of you were busy enjoying the weekend while it streamed live, so we’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure. She’s actually a lot of fun in the interview!
Madonna teaches Fallon some go-to dance moves from the club. He also plays a bit of his favorite song (you’ll have to watch below to find out which one that is). I do agree with him though, the song he chose is one of my favorites as well.
Madonna answered questions from fans on Facebook and also talked a little about some of the ideas she has for the “Gang Bang” music video that involve Quentin Tarantino. She talks a little about her tour, what she learns from other artists (if anything), the controversy in there “Girl Gone Wild” video and much more. Check it out!
Canadian chanteuse Rosette has been working her butt off placing her vocals on some of the hottest dance and house tracks in the past few months. She’s teamed up with every from Dimaro to Ian Carey & Timbaland. So what is Rosette’s latest project? A cover of one of the most talked about songs right now, especially for her homo fans.
Rosette takes a stab at Madonna’s Girl Gone Wild in her latest track. While the backing track remains pretty in tact to the original, Rosette’s vocal tone really plays well to the song. Another notable addition to the song are the remix in lyrics. Rosette opted to remove “get fired up like a smoking gun” and inserted “show some skin like we got some sun.” Overall, I think she paid the song its justice but I’ll let you be the judge. Give a listen to Rosette’s cover of the Madonna tune below.

Ever since St. Petersburg’s Governor Georgy Poltavchenko signed its new homophobic law, companies like Mercedes-Benz and PepsiCo have been urged to boycott St. Petersburg. The gay “propaganda” law imposes administrative fines on the so-called “propaganda of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexuality, transgenderism” and pedophilia to minors.
The foggy and subjective law is so broad that it allows for unscrupulous law enforcement to detain anyone they perceive to be breaking the law. The new legislation has the caught the world’s attention and drawn the disapproval of many countries. Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird is so deeply concerned, he urged a travel advisory be issued warning Canadians traveling to St. Petersburg.
Homosexuality is legal, though some still strongly disapprove of it. Canadians are advised to avoid displaying affection in public, as homosexuals can be targets of violence. A law prohibiting public actions propagandizing homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality and transsexuality among minors, and prohibiting public actions propagandizing pedophilia, will come into effect in St. Petersburg on March 17th, 2012. Public actions (including dissemination of information, statements, displays or conspicuous behaviour) contradicting or appearing to contradict this law may lead to arrest, prosecution and the imposition of a fine. Similar laws are already in effect in Ryazan, Arkhangelsk and Kostroma. - Canadian Travel Advisory

Madonna has just premiered the “Girl Gone Wild” music video on E! News and it’s now online and included below for your viewing pleasure. The video, shot in black and white, was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Mert & Marcus.
The Queen looks absolutely fabulous in the video, surrounded by sexy shirtless men with their hands all over her. I was also excited to see that she had enlisted the help of the fierce high-heeled Ukrainian pop/dance troop, Kazaky (along with some additional male dancers). Love them!
The video is incredibly sexy and I’m guessing that those that didn’t like the song before might find that it will grow on them with these visuals. Oh, and randomly… Madonna’s eyes bleed at the end – as shown above. Enjoy the video below and be sure to get the album on March 26!
